  1. NBA---Mavs, obvi.  In the post Jordan NBA I REALLY lost interest.  I hated what the league had become, and the move to ABC didn't help.  Then I saw Finlay/Nash/Dirk play together, and for the first time I was like "this is my team".  11 years later, here we are.  If I had a #2 it would be the Bobcats for geography reasons.

College basketball--I don't have a team that I am diehard about, but I usually lean towards Mississippi State, just because I was born and raised in Mississippi.

College Football--Alabama.  The very first football game I watched was the Bama-Miami national championship game, and I just stuck with them ever since.  I also lived in Alabama during this time for a couple of years.

I don't really follow the NFL anymore.  I find NFL football to be passionless and boring now.  Sorry.  I'm sure I would still watch it if I had a team I cared about.  The last time I really cared was during the Titans run to the Super Bowl because I was such a big Steve McNair fan.

Baseball--Braves fan since I was a little kid.  They were the closest we had to a "home team" in Mississippi, so we were all fans.

I'll throw in boxing too, because I'm a huge fan of Juan Manuel Marquez!

  2. So I pondered this while watching Survivor Series 95.  First, I realized that Mr. Fuji outlasted every 80's Golden Age WWF manager, at least in terms of staying with the company.  Then I wondered, were Monsoon and Fuji the longest tenured on-air employees ever with the company.  Monsoon was a start from the 60's to the early 80's, announced regularly until 95, then did the President gimmick till 97, and made sporadic appearances in the booth until 98.  Fuji's path was very similar.  Wrestled until the early 80's, then managed until 96.  One thing I'll say about Vince, is that for the most part, he was loyal to his dad's guys.

  3. They rarely call the hand-to-face dunk a foul. Blake Griffin and several others have so many dunks that way that are always highlights that it seems to be something that's become accepted in the NBA.

Heh, one thing at a time, I guess.  At least they are calling travelling this year.

The "Why certain guys never got a run in TNA/WWE" thread had me looking up a couple of WWE dark matches from the late 90's and early 00's, and I came across Cena vs. Benjamin.

Crazy how goofy Cena looked, and how much better Benjamin was than him.

Nice to see he was always considerate to the visually impaired by calling out spots as loudly as possible. Love the guy at the 3:15 mark who yells out, "Can we have a real match, please?".

I don't know what that neckbeard was yelling about. I didn't see anything wrong with that match. It was perfectly acceptable wrestling.

That sort of thing happens at every show I've ever been too when they send unknowns out there.  I remember a show back in 03 that I went to, Bernard and Ohaire worked London and Kendrick.  Several fans shit on London/Kendrick simply because they hadn't been on tv, despite being booked to look good in this match.
