The All-Purpose Funko POP! thread....
Kevin Wilson replied to Big Fresh's topic in COMPUTERS & GAMES & TECH
Blows my mind that a company with net sales of "only' 260 million in a quarter is at risk of going out of business. Like, what did they do wrong along the way that selling 260 million dollars worth of cheap plastic figures leads to massive debt and failure. I know its not as simple as that so business majors don't have to come after me, just as a normal thinking person you'd think they could trim cost somewhere and keep making little figures. There are action figure makers that sell a fraction of what Funko does and they still seem to exist ok. Feels like a mismanagement/failure to adapt to the climate before it was too late situation. -
While I don't think he'll be traded, I honestly don't see that as a terrible value (with the note being, depending on what "and more" means). If a playoff team feels they need a WR, at least Waddle has long term value. Shaheed and Meyers are both FA after this year so they would be three month rentals. Olave has one more year but who knows if he'll hold out/want a long term contract since he's still on his rookie deal. Waddle on the other hand isn't a free agent until 2029, so if a team sees Waddle not only has a short-term fix but also a long-term fix, a 1st and a 3rd or something like that I don't think would be a bad deal. Course if they want 2 1sts and a 2nd that's a different.

2025 Game Subscriptions, Deals, Etc.
Kevin Wilson replied to Cliff Hanger's topic in COMPUTERS & GAMES & TECH
I use GamePass too much to give it up cold but I did buy six months worth of $20 gift cards. Once the six months is up I'll re-evaluate. -
Not an intentional exclusion, remind me next August!

What I'm seeing so far in the NFL is really no team is separating themselves. Yes there are 4-0 teams but all of them are flawed, and there are a number of good 3-1 and 2-2 teams that if they put the pieces together by the end of the year could be one of the top seeds. Or they could not figure it out and miss the playoffs altogether. As a Bills fan naturally I see all their flaws watching all their games start to finish but the 49ers, Colts, Lions, Chargers, KC, Balt, Eagles all have their flaws too. Its still September so I think any fan making a definite conclusion about their team (good or bad) just needs to wait a bit as I don't see a frontrunner yet. It does make for some fun games to watch tho.

Proud of you all.

Well now that we all just watched the best NFL game of the 2025 season, the rest of the year is just a battle for second. Win or lose, no one can say the Bills aren't always entertaining.
-
To the surprise of no one watching, Worthy officially diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder. Still doing more tests, undecided if he will get surgery or play with a brace after missing an undetermined number of weeks.
-
Two games in, the NFL finally made touchbacks bad enough for the kicking team to discourage them. Teams definitely not going for them if the game is anywhere near close.
-
I don't agree with them changing the time so late in the game. It isn't fair for those attending live in particular, I feel like the NFL now changing days/times of games has made TK think its ok but its not. I understand the reason he did it but anyone flying in is screwed, not to mention those that watch from home that may have already had plans since its less than three weeks away.

I'm excite. They are saying all the right things but even if they weren't, Borderlands is a series I play couch co-op with my brother and we always have a great time.

Dolfan doesn't care that Week 1 isn't even over yet.
-
That 3rd down throw, man. Maybe the excitement of today just got to Arch.
-
Bad throws, poor decisions. Not saying his career is tanked but he's looked about as bad as a highest Heisman odds to start the season player has probably ever looked in Week 1. I assume the odds will change dramatically after today.

I think we got the whole band back together. Which is kinda surprising as I think the first year of the league was 2009 and about half of the players are the same, we don't see too much turnover. A couple people disappeared over the years and I think we've kicked out Chris at least once but that's about it

August 2025 Wrestling Discussion
Kevin Wilson replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I'm not downplaying what happened at all but historically, has there ever been a successful criminal case based on something that happened in a wrestling ring? Either wrestlers don't want to pursue it, or judges don't know how to handle the blurred lines of professional wrestling, where sometimes there are shoots or receipts or people get mad and potato someone, etc. The only one that went to criminal court I can think of off the top of my head was New Jack/Mass Transit and he was found not guilty, and the incident with William Jason which he was again charged but Jason didn't want to cooperate so they were dropped. And those are just a two easy examples, we all know a dozen more of wrestlers that were reckless and/or intentionally hurt someone in the ring or backstage. I don't know the wrestler involved at all but it just wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't want charges pressed and without his cooperation it sputters, at least in this case there is a ton of video evidence so they may be able to pursue it even without his cooperation. -
I always thought if they just changed the rule to "if you get injured enough during a drive to stop the game, you can't come back in the rest of the drive" it would have really slowed down the fake injuries to only the most key moments.

Yea Sanders had a bad game but it doesn't change his long term prospects. If the Browns were smart they'd just pencil in Flacco for the year and let Gabriel and Sanders redshirt the season (I say it that way as with injuries, plans can change). Or at least til December and let them play the last couple weeks if the season is over for the Browns. Then next offseason let them battle it out for the starting job, and give the "better" one the full reins to prove themselves. Not alternate or 'one bad game and you are out' but an honest attempt to give that player a chance to get on-field experience. Sanders isn't ready to start in the NFL but 95% of college QBs aren't their rookie season, for every Daniels there are a dozen other examples of players that would have been better off learning and practicing. The harder part is roster construction as they can't put either on the practice squad as another team may sign them. They are claiming to be fine keeping four QBs on the roster but that would be unusual, they may not have a choice though if they don't want to start the year with one of the rookies as the backup.

I heard from Brent, he's alive and well! Also, this year some of the cool new features on Yahoo are behind a paywall, like having a seven team playoff to match up with real life NFL. I'm not opposed to some of the things they've added (playing two opponents a week, the seven team playoff, etc.) but without a forum within the Yahoo Fantasy anymore I can't really gauge interest and only like half the league are active in this forum at this point. So I just keep things the same.

It is that time of year for Fantasy Football! I am a few weeks later than usual making this thread, my apologies, real life just been kicking my butt. If you are in the DVDVR Paid League, it auto-renewed as it always does with the same people. I haven't heard from Brent in awhile so I'm concerned he has disappeared, so if anyone here is interested in joining that wasn't in it last year let me know in case a spot opens up! Also if you were in it last year and don't want to be in it this year let me know ASAP so I can figure out if we have spots to fill. Payment for the paid league is due by the 31st, draft is September 2nd. Yahoo took away the option to have the "dues" listed so I'll just keep track in my head who hasn't paid yet, I'll start messaging people tomorrow. Course if you aren't in the paid league we can still use this thread for general fantasy football chatter.

Not sure who to root for but I assume this will be settled before it reaches the 'discovery' phase as I have no doubt there are internal communications the NFL definitely does not want out there in the wild. If the next NFL appeal fails I suspect Gruden will be a lot richer.
-
I don't know if it will stick but I do like the theory that 100,000 wrestling fans were so annoyed at SS and/or Brock coming back that they thought "wonder what AEW is up to." Doesn't mean they liked what they saw and will come back week by week but since AEW didn't announce anything special for the show I'm not sure what else would have led to a 16% increase from the week before.

SUMMERSLAM XXXVIII - 8/2 & 8/3/2025
Kevin Wilson replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
The thing is, Brock was just taken off TV after the sale of WWE/new owners TKO not wanting the distraction as they set up their new investment, they could have really used him all along. Brock isn't being sued, its doubtful there would be any type of settlement this early in the process as he is just named as an example of something Vince did wrong. New owners TKO were just smart enough to realize that him just being named in the lawsuit a lot and being at best a morally lacking person was a good PR reason to keep him off TV. As far as their legal case goes it doesn't *hurt* to have him on TV wrestling, its just a bad idea from a PR perspective (I'd say a moral perspective but I never think that was why they took him off, it was strictly a PR move). Course, times are very different now then they were then and they are less worried about pushback but I'll leave it at that. -
I know its poor form to post random plays from your favorite team but this is one of those throws that fans talk about for awhile: I know the base runner didn't slide and he'd have been safe if he did but he didn't slide because that throw is made 1% of the time at best and probably isn't even tried most of the time. Acuna's arm is underrated since he's so good at everything else. I know the Braves won't re-sign him in a couple years so I have to enjoy him while I can (stay healthy!).
