  1. I'm in the process of watching Death Before Dishonor V Night 2. Morishima vs. Albright. NRC & Matt Sydal vs. The Resilience & Delirious. Danielson vs. Mike Quackenbush. Mark Briscoe vs. El Generico. Kevin Steen vs. Jay Briscoe
  2. I heard about Stuart's passing earlier in the day, but had to wait until I was alone to watch the tributes. My teen years were filled watching SportsCenter. On days off from school, I'd watch the SC replays all morning. It was incredibly hard to watch both Rich Eisen's tribute and Stuart's ESPY video. There are other things I'd like to say, but can't think of the right words at this time. R.I.P. Stuart Scott
  3. Arena Warfare. Even without the shit talking, the match itself holds up. This thread could be dangerous for me. I feel like I'm not far off from tracking down the dvd's I've sold or buying a bunch of present day ROH stuff.
  4. Imagine some combination of Aries/Strong/Shelley/Evans mixing it up with The Shield and Wyatt's in 2013-2014. Or Gen Next vs. The Usos. Gen Next vs. The Dust Bros. I think I just blew my mind.
  5. I came here to post about this same show and that match in particular. Generation Next were probably my favorite ROH stable by far and I remember this angle being such a big deal since they pretty much undid everything that had been booked for that show in advance and cemented themselves as a force. Evans and Strong went on to have a ton of great matches over the tag titles, many of which were against Jacobs and Whitmer, but I'm at a loss as to which were the best out of those. The only thing that bums me out about it was how soon Shelley left and that we never got to see a really good, prolonged Shelley/Aries feud over the world title. Shelley/Aries from Manhattan Mayhem is a top 10 for me. I loved the progression of Alex Shelley in 2005 from a man on his own to buying into the Embassy. Generation Next/Embassy is one of my favorite ROH feuds.
  6. Gabe fucked up with Brent Albright, lumping him in the Hangmen 3 coming off two title matches vs. Morishima and the three way with Morishima and Claudio. I was in Philly for the match against Morishima and the crowd was going nuts for Albright. During the pre-show, he came out and squashed some of the ROH wrestling school students, along with Eddie Kingston. The crowd was going nuts for the near-falls during the title match. It really felt like Albright had a legit shot of winning the title. There was a chance to rebuild Albright after he turned on Sweet & Sour Inc. at the Hammerstein. The place went nuts when he turned around and decked Hagadorn instead of hitting Bobby Dempsey. I still like to go back and re-watch when Brent Awesome bombs Hagadorn through the table outside the ring. I think what hurt Albright the second time around was the change from Gabe to Pearce. Albright may have been tight with Pearce, but that didn't seem to matter because Adam Pearce is a shitty booker. The Albright/Claudio feud in 2009 culminated in a flag match. That's straight out of the Jim Cornette school of booking.
  7. I'm not familiar with them but given what a hateful bastard Dynamite was, I'm probably better off. Read Pure Dynamite. My personal favorite wrestling book.
  8. Morishima vs. Austin Aries. I want to say the show is Battle of St. Paul. There is also the match against Danielson where Brian suffers a detached retina.
  9. Awesome. A nice way to move on from Mr. & Mrs. Taker and their shitty mall kiosk t-shirts.
  10. At one point, I did have 2004-2008 complete before I slowly started selling some here and there. I paid quite a bit for some of the harder to get dvd's like New Frontiers and Night of Tribute.
  11. I would add Roderick/Nigel from DBDIV. My favorite Pure Title match. The crowd game unglued each time Roderick beat the 20 count back in the ring. Two other matches that come right to mind for me are Cage of Death, also from DBDIV and Generation Next/Embassy @ Steel Cage Warfare.
  12. I'd say when he went from a zombie, funeral director to a fucking biker. Sara Taker didn't make matters any better.
  13. We're only two days in and this thread is great already. I look forward to see what the rest of the month will be like.
  14. Why, oh why, did he do an Asian bow to a couple of Lucha guys? Because he's a Vince Russo level racist?
  15. 74:12 to be exactI would definitely be up for participating in an ROH top 100 project. My fandom was at its peak from 2003-2008 until Gabe was fired.
  16. We remember what happened the last time the Cubs and Marlins met in the playoffs. Steve Bartman will never forget it.
  17. It's not about homosexual necrophilia. It's simply finding the chick in facepaint sexy.
  18. If she was my wife or girlfriend, I'd request the Warrior facepaint during sex.
  19. (Emphasis added.)I'm pretty sure Tammy just doesn't know the definition of a recreational drug. That or her memory is shot to shit from all the drug use.
  20. I used to enjoy his wrestling, but his commentary soured me to the point I can't go back and re-watch his matches.
  21. I like that Mojo Rawley is a heel based purely on how much he sucks. It's very indy-snobbish. I love it.
  22. The Larry Zsbysko drinking game Everytime he talked about his golf game, take a shot. Everytime he mentioned the human game of chess, take 2 shots. Everytime he said new world odor, chug your drink. It also worked really well with JR's catchphrases.
  23. I kinda would see/write Seth as a guy who really emulates HHH, up to trying to be an evil mastermind, when he just doesn't have the chops for it, so he ends up kinda a cartoon villain, yet he can still kill you in the ring. He was perfect in his role in the Age of the Fall, with Jimmy Jacobs as the clear leader and brains of the group.
  24. Yeah, pretty much. There is something to be said for alternative medicine but when they guy has a ruptured eardrum injury from 2007 that he never got fixed you have to put it on the guy. I don't know................when I think shaman, I think: And he looks like a totally legit doctor to me. He's holistic, Jerry. He's holistic.
