  1. The Las Vegas F1 race is on its way to being the disaster most people predicted, loose manhole covers shut down last nights practice.
  2. The three episode JFK: One Day in America doc series on Hulu and I think Disney+ is really good. It has present day interviews with the living Secret Service Agents, Journalists(including Bill Mercer), Oswald's co-worker's and others, thankfully it doesn't get into the conspiracy nonsense. There's a lot of restored footage that looks amazing but everything they colorized looks bad, no idea why anyone thinks it looks good or that people even want it or even care if its not in color.
  3. Totally, when I worked at Blockbuster in the 90's we had both copies, when someone rented the R we had a prepared script telling them it was an "R rated R" and that there was a PG rated version, there was an incident the first week the store was open when someone rented the R for a kids slumber party. We also had to explain that Grease and Bad News Bears were 1970's PG, on par with current PG13 movies and that Tanner says a lot of really racist stuff.
  4. Remember there’s an R rated version and a PG rated version, a huge amount of people have only seen the PG or edited for tv version.
  5. I bet Vince still kicks himself for using the name Virgil for a black bodyguard and not a wrestling plumber.
  6. He's so lucky that Vince didn't find out about his lunchbox collection, we missed out on Lunch Pail Pete or something similar.
  7. Ummm it’s not like the University of Michigan hasn’t had their own sexual abuse history. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/university-michigan-reaches-490-million-settlement-anderson-accusers-rcna12713 Bo Schembechler’s son even got abused and Bo’s response when being told was to punch his son. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/31599673/bo-schembechler-son-says-father-knew-michigan-doctor-abuse
  8. The dookie line was from No Holds Barred, Hogan said it to the Richard Belzer looking chauffeur.
  9. The movie should have been an extended version of this.
  10. They’ll never get higher than where they currently are with Franklin as head coach. He’s a modern version of John Cooper.
  11. My lord is Big Ten football boring.
  12. Realizing the 30th anniversary of the Fan Man incident was the other day makes feel really old.
  13. Stalions wasn’t going rogue, if you think of this as Watergate he’s G. Gordon Liddy being told he can intact Project Opal of Operation Gemstone by whoever the U of M equivalent of John Mitchell is.
  14. It’s one of the best, I was watching that night and it was a totally “holy shit” moment when those things were rare.
  15. Actually they worst Pitt team since the second Johnny Majors run when they had ads in the student newspaper looking for players.
  16. Pretty much, the WWWF was a if it ain’t broke don’t fix it/stick to the formula promotion. They did bring back Fuji & Tanaka, The Valiant Brothers, and The Wild Samoans for a second title run since they got so over during their first.
  17. Aren't Ghostbusters movies supposed to be you know funny?
  18. Interested in how much help the ACC refs give FSU this week.
  19. Am I a bad Gen-X'er in that I pretty much hate every John Hughes directed film but this one? This is totally Candy's best role and he should have gotten an Oscar nomination either Best Actor or Best Supporting. I mean Robin Williams got nominated for Best Actor that year for Good Morning Vietnam where he just did his shtick and a sad scene, in the Best Supporting category Vincent Gardenia was nominated for playing a way over the top stereotype of an Italian-American.
  20. Blue Thunder the film still holds up, sadly no one seemed to pickup on its theme of militarizing local police is a bad idea.
  21. The All Confederate Conference is doing everything they can to make sure Florida State beats Pitt.
  22. I can’t remember where I heard this but it seems spot on, in the past 200ish years the worth of an ounce of gold is the equivalent of the price of an “expensive” men’s suit.
