  1. Miles Morales and The Pathless are very pretty on PS4 Pro. I'm sure they're better on PS5 but I doubt I'm going to be disappointed with the editions I just downloaded.
  2. Apparently, there's a rumor going around that Cyberpunk will be delayed yet again. Fwiw, CD Projekt Red denied it when IGN contracted them for a quote. At this point, I'd just as soon not hear about CD Projekt Red. I realize the pandemic makes things harder, but they seem to have terrible management. Repeated delays, horror stories about crunch, keeping info from designers to protect the stock price, etc. I'm not that sensitive about crunch because I've had to work ridiculous hours in my field and know quite a few people who did likewise. But, the horror stories about CD Projekt Red have been around since at least Witcher 2 and the company's track record is basically a couple Witcher games. They've had time to get their act together. It wasn't encouraging when, a few weeks ago, they said they were confident about the Dec. date but not comfortable with it (or something like that).
  3. Nah, he seems to have conflicting feelings about Kraven's Last Hunt, for a couple reasons. Apparently, he was going through some personal issues at the time and was in a fairly bad place. He's said in his blog that he was in such a bad place in his life that he was in as much pain as the characters in the story - to the point that it's hard for him to go back to KLH without remembering how terrible his situation was. Second, KLH wasn't intended to be a Spider-Man story. His originally pitched it as a Wonder Man story. In the original draft, the Grim Reaper (Wonder Man's brother) killed and buried Wondy and it takes six months for Wondy to regenerate and dig himself out of the grave. Marvel rejected it, so JDM wrote elements from the story into a Batman/Joker story he pitched to DC. DC rejected it too, though DeMatteis reworked the pitch and it eventually got published as an arc in Legends of the Dark Knight called "Going Sane" (rather different from original pitch). After that, he reworked the pitch into Kraven's Last Hunt and went back to Marvel with it. Anyway, JDM seems more attached to stories he wrote for Spider-Man, instead of just re-purposing another idea. It seems to be one of his favorite Spidey stories, though. The other issue is that people apparently go up to JDM - even interviewers - and talk about how Kraven's Last Hunt made him famous, which he seems to bristle at. He'd been in the industry for over a decade or so at that point and had an awful lot of other good work to hang his hat on (both superheroes and creator-owned stuff like Moonshadow). It seems fair to say he was already a name at that point. Kraven's Last Hunt is my favorite DeMattieis Spider-Man story, but I'm a heartless philistine who really dislikes Sal Buscema's art, so Zeck's art put it over the top for me.
  4. I'm the complete opposite. I don't think I'd stand in line for even a couple min for a new game console. As I said above, I impulsively bought a Series X yesterday for no other reason than I was walking through Walmart on my way to groceries and saw a stack sitting there. No crowd. There were one or two people checking out but they were on their way by the time I got to the counter. If there had been a line of, say, three or four people, I'd probably have gone on my way without a second thought. Still don't know much about the console. I made room for it in the study last night, set it up, and installed a few games. The plan was to come back later in the evening after my wife headed to bed and spend some time with it, but when I came back a few hours later, I played... the Switch. Probably won't get any time with it tonight. Hoping to knock out A Short Hike on the Switch tonight before I download a couple Sony games tomorrow. Tomorrow, I'm downloading Miles Morales and The Pathless and starting one of them. May d/lSackboy too depending on reviews. Those 2/3 will keep me busy for a bit. Uh, next week, I'm definitely buying Katamari Damacy on PS4 when it's released on the 20th, so the weekend may be out. I've got dozens of Switch and PS4 games I want to get to soonish. So, yeah, it's possible I'll be one of the first people to own a Series X and one of the last people to actually play it.
  5. The face scan looks good, but the upper body looks odd to me. It looks like Kenny Omega wearing a Kenny Omega body suit. Not that interested in wrestling video games any more, but I'm really intrigued by this project.
  6. Does anyone want to see that though? I feel like this storyline would have been dropped already if they had a live crowd sitting there reacting to it. Or maybe not reacting to it, which would be worse. I think Lana’s probably benefitting from Vince not being forced to adjust his booking plans because of the crowd reaction.
  7. Lol, just saw a bewildering 10 min. IGN video comparing Miles Morales on PS4, PS5, and PS4 Pro. The narrator clearly thought he was making a good case for PS5 superiority, but I only intermittently could pick out a distinct difference in the side-by-side footage and mostly thought about the Emperor's new clothes while watching. Ray tracing is going to be the new 60 fps. The hardcores will rave over it, the rest of us will enjoy the game just fine at 30 fps. Reflections and what not looked almost as impressive in IGN's PS4 footage. Anyway, according to IGN, Miles Morales looks great and runs really well even on the base PS4.
  8. I mean, would it have been that hard to announce him as a mystery partner guest and name him on the day of the show?
  9. Lol, I was very surprised to walk through the electronics department of my local Walmart this morning and see a small pile of Xbox Series X's sitting there. Mind you, I wasn't looking for a Series X. I went to Walmart to buy a few supplies for the office and hot dogs and buns so I can grill my lunch. I really wasn't planning to buy a next-gen console for awhile, but... eh... it was just sitting there and I can afford it, so.... I'm still surprised that Microsoft didn't ban in-store sales like Sony did. Not that I think they should. Just thought they would follow suit. Sony's probably going to misstep yet again because I'm guessing a lot of the stock put for sale online Thursday ends up in the hands of bots and scalpers and we'll be seeing $1,000 PS5's on eBay by the weekend. Not buying a PS5 for awhile. Definitely not until I'm sure what the external memory and b/c situations are. Sony claims the number of non-b/c games will be about 20, but I've heard rumors there are actually at least a few hundred non-b/c games. Rumors were never substantiated, but Sony's done a lot to erode my blind trust lately.
  10. If the Captain angle is political, it's rather subtle for Vince. He usually smacks you in the face with political digs and mean-spirited humor so the people he's mocking know they are being mocked. My theory is that if you are wondering whether something was intended to be political, it probably isn't. Even if it was political, it's easy enough to ignore. Honestly, I thought the "Not my Captain" line was a dig at Walt Whitman. I can sympathize. I was an English major in college. I'd just as soon never read free verse poetry ever again. Show was rather blah. Completely lost interest by the time the main event rolled around and turned it off. Really, I've completely lost interest in Orton-Drew. Really at a loss to see how Lana's angle will get her over. Even if it somehow does, can they keep her over? Lana's not particularly good any anything pro-wrestling related. I don't even think she connects with the audience all that well. I want the minutes I wasted on the 24/7 title match back. God, that was dumb. Also, why would the wrestlers fight each other and ignore the guy fighting the champion? People paired off and ignored pin attempts on the champion. It's not like anyone in the match had heat with anyone else and it made everyone involved look idiotic.
  11. Correct. I don’t have a problem with you though. So I dunno why I’d do that. I’ll use the sign out button before I put anyone on ignore. You’re entitled to your opinion. I just sort of wish there was room on here for everyone’s opinions, but, sadly, that’s often not the case
  12. I mean, you could just turn the channel. We really don’t need to see your one man show. Will there at least be an open bar?
  13. If Foley had successfully hid his gut with oversized shirts, we wouldn't be talking about it 20 years later.
  14. I'm going to be really disappointed when they look alike and neither one takes after Big Daddy Dudley, aren't I?
  15. Yep. Although Sony did vaguely say that the issue would be addressed "in the future.". You can upgrade the console's internal memory - some day. The console has an SSD expansion slot, but it also will be disabled at launch. One the one hand, it's hard to believe that Sony won't resolve both these issues before storage ever becomes an issue for most gamers. On the other hand, it's hard to believe that we're having this conversation the week of the console's launch, so I dunno. I'm not really clear if Sony made an announcement about storage or if it was discovered independently when news sites started reviewing consoles, but in either case, Sony doesn't seem to be planning to discuss it in detail which makes me wonder if it's going to be a long-term issue for the console.
  16. External drive support for PS4 and PS5 games are two separate issues, At launch, you won't be able to save PS5 games to an external drive or play PS5 games from an external drive. You will be able to plug an external drive into the console and move, play, and save PS4 games to the external drive. You'll also apparently be able to specify different default drives for PS5 and PS4 games. I.E., you'll be able to set the console to automatically download PS5 games and patches to the internal console storage while PS4 games and data automatically download to an external drive.
  17. I mean, Shelton Benjamin doing Hardbody Harrison's "Stang" gimmick is a much better option that Hardbody Harrison doing Hardbody Harrison's "Stang" gimmick, so.... I wonder how many gimmicks that wrestlers pitch for themselves get given to other wrestlers. Brodus Clay claims he pitched Mark Henry's Hall of Pain gimmick for himself (Vince had Henry use it instead, obviously).
  18. The Tony Stark/Howard/Mephisto stuff is probably my least favorite comics' storyline in a lonnngggg time. Lol, and that covers a lot of ground.
  19. I miss Milano. Wrestling needs more Japanese wrestlers doing fake Italian supermodel gimmicks.
  20. Given the tone of the vignettes they've been airing for Carmella's return, I didn't expect her ring attire to be "pleather stripper outfit". Never change, Vince. Women's division seems really thin right now. Raw too. Although I'm really enjoying NXT women's division right now. Ordinarily, I'd be wishing Io, Ripley, Kai, Gonzalez, LeRae, etc. get called up, but, realistically, that would probably just sabotage the talent involved. Ugh.
  21. Quarantine has really done a number on Sable.
  22. Thank god they drilled the yen to dollar conversion rate into our heads in grade school or some of us would be confused right now. (for those that don't remember the conversion rate, 6.5 billion yen works out to about $63 million USD)
  23. Yeah, I mistyped the date for some reason. I’m working an a proposal at work and have “31” on the brain. Also, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is shipping without multiplayer. Online co-op mode will be patched in before gr end of the year. I don’t think cross-save compatibility is going to be available at launch either.
