  1. Now, all this talk about dream matches makes me sad, because I consider my dream matches rather reasonable and I've never been the one to "dream big", so to speak. Yet, we live in a world where I've been waiting for PAC vs Buddy Murphy, PAC vs Pete Dunne, Dunne vs Murphy and just very recently Zoe Starks vs Ivy Nile and all of these have eluded me and continue do so.

I wonder if Dexter bought his share from Hornswoggle when he left? I guess the Fiend would also be a possibility, but they were both using it concurrently, so maybe they each held a share. I wonder what The Fiend did with his? Maybe Johnny could ask around if The Fiend would be interested in selling? Wait, strike that. We know that he was never interested in selling anything.

    Nice article. 2 main takeaways

    1) I’m super old and out of touch with modern music

    and more importantly

    2) “Hip-hop and professional wrestling work so perfectly together, but wrestling usually features rock music. Or if it’s hip-hop, it’s Pitbull or Flo Rida”

Dropped that in for us, didn’t you Lee? ?

Hey, I think a wrestler on Dark should call himself Florida Pitbull! And come out to some generic rock music!

Youtube will publicly remove the dislikes counter, dislikes will only be seen by the owners of the video or videos. The dislike button will still exist.....for now.

    Slow rollout.

So, in the near future we can do two things: Nothing and Like it? Is that what you are telling me?

  5. So yeah, Tuesday was a leg day for the aforementioned reasons, so I did a bunch of stuff on the squat machine and plenty of calf raises. Also tested the right arm by doing curls with the 22lb plates. No problems there.

After taking Wednesday off, I did dips and reverse shrugs with 66lbs. Opted out of doing pull ups after testing the arm with bodyweight only. It was fine, but I didn't feel safe trying anything with extra weights. So 4 sets of dips and reverse shrugs. No drop sets this time, just 4 sets with 66 lbs. More curls with 22's, lat pulldowns with the resistance bands and push downs as well.

Due to maintenance, I have an unexpected (well, to myself at least) extra day off from work today, so no Trapbar, but that is just as well. I think it will be good to not push my luck with the arm any more this week.

Work has been uncharacteristically busy for this time of year, which is good, but it's also kicking my ass. The weather, however, has been quite decent for the time of year, so that has helped with the bike rides.

I loved that during the Dax/Pac match they explained that while all wrestlers were banned from ringside, Tully Blanchard could stay because he possesses a manager's license.  Just a great bit of wrestling bullshit.

I thought they stopped even handing manager's licenses out, since almost all of them vanished a long time ago. He must have gotten his in the early 90's when he first retired. Probably as a back up plan suggested by JJ Dillon, or something? Who knew it would come in handy decades later?

That was actually a really fantastic wrestling show. With exactly the right amount of Jackson involvement.

Bryan Danielson is the greatest wrestler to have ever lived. That is all.

Inner Circle/ATT segment was meh, but I enjoyed watching Junior Dos Santos during that. Last week I wondered if he'd be willing to play ball. Dude looked like he was having the time of his life tonight. Inner Circle has to win this, and yet I'm more certain than ever that they won't.

That Lio Rush et al. tag match was b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Holy shit. More of that please. Moriarty and Dante Martin are both future STARS, and Lio Rush can see the future. I'm convinced.

Women's tag was fun for what it was. All three babyface women have the "it" factor. Any one of them could be the next women's champion. Part of me hopes Tay gets a little run here. She won't, but she should.

Goddamn Jungle Boy is good. Anthony Bowens aka "Pocket Otunga" has really brought his working boots the last couple weeks, too.

I'm out on the UE/Superkliq stuff. The only thing worse than one faction full of insufferable sawed off workrate dorks is two stables full of insufferable sawed off workrate dorks.

Dax Harwood would've been a really great nwa TV champion in the 80's. I used to like it when guys would win a low level singles title while still part of a tag team.  Those guys brought the thunder.

I cannot wait for Omega to drop the title. Will be fun to have a champ that isn't a twitchy goof. I really, really enjoy Hangman and can't wait for his reign.

Tag team guys winning singles titles while part of a tag team is awesome. Another awesome thing is when one or both of current tag team champions are still vying for singles titles at the same time ( think Barry Windham and Ron Garvin as US tag team champions).

Also, Lio Rush CAN see the future, that's probably how he really made all that money on his investments.

  8. After a nice, relaxing weekend, I decided to mix things up a bit and try the bench and heavy curls with the EZ bar on Monday. Between the warm up bench sets I did a set of curls, going 5-3-1 quickly before going for 94lbs +the bar (18 lbs?). I managed a decent 5 with it, so I figure I add another 5 lbs. As I'm getting into the position to lift on the Scott bench I hear this disgusting crunch on my right arm. Obviously, I stop what I'm doing and assess the damage. It's moving alright, the range of motion is full, I can move my fingers, no intense pain, so I didn't break anything. I take a bunch of weight off and see if I can lift 60 or so lbs. That's fine but the right forearm does feel tight.

I was going for 286 on the bench, so I take it down to 242 and 264 and they go with no trouble. I clear the 286 and do 2x297 almost clean and get decent reps going down as well, so whatever happened, doesn't seem to affect my bench.

So, I guess it's a bunch of legwork for the rest of the week just to be safe. The forearm isn't bruised or swollen, but certain movements of the wrist still make it feel tight and tense. Two days later it still feels off, but it hasn't gotten any worse, so I guess I got lucky. It just sucks that the left forearm had been giving me some trouble for more than a year and now that it's doing ok again, then the right one bails out on me. I guess this is mid 40's, then?

I’ve been fantasy booking an El Generico return to wrestling in my head all day. Slow day at work.  I’ve come to the logical conclusion that it has to be in AEW.

Lio Rush and Andrade team up to force a leveraged buy out of Generico’s orphanage (as a front for money laundering or property development purposes).  This forces Generico back to the ring to win the orphanage from the clutches of Andrade.  When he wins he can be carried to the back on the shoulders of the orphans.

My only worry would be that a debuting Kevin Steen would somehow ruin that feel good moment by throwing Generico off the stage.

    The Necro knows… nothing

Needs to happen. All of this.

The role of Shane Douglas was played by Tom Zenk according to everything I've ever read about it.

Watching the match from a Steve Austin compilation, I was able to distinguish Zenk's build under the suit. I think it was a chinlock or an armbar, where one of his arms looked familiar, if you knew what to look for.

Damn, that sucks. Dementia is an asshole. Hope she didn't suffer.

To this day I would truly and honestly like to know who came up with Judy Bagwell as on air talent, why, and just how they assumed it was going to be good. It's honest curiosity.

She probably spent so much time backstage tending to his son that somebody thought that if she's around all the time, we might as well put her on TV, maybe as a rib, maybe not?

It's going to continue, too, with the "must show improvement within 6 months" rule -- which, honestly, makes total sense from WWE's perspective, but sucks a whole hell of lot for any prospects not native to Florida. Living on the edge twice a year, despite what Aerosmith might think, sounds like a very stressful life.

And it's not like they can help themselves from falling, either!

Yeah, and you could be like: "Oh, hey Bro! Here's that bag of Cheetoz I promised you and here, have a bag of Oreos, too! You must be SO hungry at this point! Nice seeing you, Bro, but I really need to be somewhere. Bye!"

  14. Back to the usual grind this week. After the usual Monday stuff, like a dumbass I did bench and heavy curls on an EZ bar in a Scott bench because I didn't have the time properly stretch my legs during the workday, so squats or trapbar was out. So, obviously not too good results, but I did a 3 with 281 and a few sets of 3 with 264 and a bunch of lighter stuff. Considering I did a 7 with 220, it was obvious I hadn't recovered properly yet.

Took Wednesday off, Thursday was trapbar as follows: 10x140, 8x230, 7x352, 5x396, 5x451, 6, 3 and 4x473, 5x451 and then a bunch of shrugs. The 6x473 was a record so far, but it obviously taxed the next two sets.

Friday was just a big mess of chest flyes, lat pulldowns on the machine, pushdowns with the resistance band and some more curls and light overhead presses with two kettlebells.

As a whole, it was a good week, maybe next week I can stretch my legs properly so I can have two lower body workouts, but I'm just glad I'm feeling ok again.

Modern day WWE would have future endeavored Blue Chipper Rocky Maivia and the Ringmaster.

This is absolutely true. Along with a bunch of others who later became at least a reasonable successess. Hell, come to think of it, today they could release those two for getting over on their own and also if it seemed like they were on their way to becoming "bigger than the brand"!

They're Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith who played Jay and Silent Bob, respectively.  Kevin has been quite active on and off screen directing and they had a whole slew of movies that had the same people in them.  If you're curious I'd check out "Clerks", "Mallrats" and "Dogma" then go from there.

And outside of here Silent Bob is my friend's spirit animal.  He's been dressing as him for Halloween for many years and would seamlessly fit right into what they do.

I meant who the fuck hasn't seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? But thank you.
