Well, it's finally here.  The end of Sting's career.

Let's take a look at some of his greatest hits:

      Reveal hidden contents

I still can't believe The Police fired him.

Anyway, Tony's probably going to add another 5-10 matches to Revolution.  Let's find out what they are, starting tonight!

Regarding the hidden content, I need to check if "Hungry for You" is that song I used to like a lot in the mid 90's? I don't believe I have listened to it since then, though. It had a video on Mtv at the time with a desert theme. I'm not sure if that's the same song, but I remember liking it a lot. Certainly belongs on that list.

Hangman Adam Page to announce AEW Revolution status on AEW Dynamite.

Well, too late now! Whatever he says, I have already bought the PPV. Hangman is one of my biggest favorites, but if he's out, there's still enough good stuff to make this worthwhile. Now Wardlow already has his own 3-way, so he won't be replacing Page in any case. Maybe it will be Swerve vs Joe one on one? There probably isn't any big names from Japan available to take the spot at a moment's notice, right?

  3. I haven't ordered this one yet, but there's still time. Also, I don't know if I should even put this out into the universe, but I had a dream a couple of nights back that Danielson ended up basically squashing Eddie in a very short match. Whatever the end result will be, I hope that will not be the case.

The Hangman situation is also unfortunate, but Swerve vs Joe would definitely be a fresh and unique match. Wait, that Wardlow promo... Is he going to take Hangman's place, so it will still be a 3-Way, advertised?

Normally, a respectable tattoo artist won't go above the neck or maybe below the wrists so as not to hurt anyone's future employment prospects, social standing, etc.

Darby walks in and the tattoo guy is like, "yeah, no problem."

  5. I was totally beat on Thursday, so I only did some stretching and light resistance band stuff (with the heavy band, though).

Recovered enough for Friday and did Trapbar but skipped all the preliminary stuff. After a few reps without Versas (off the blocks from the very beginning), I did a single with 453 before putting them on. Then with Versas 2x567, 1x662, then 3x767,5 off the full blocks. Then, shoes off, singles with 862 and 868. Also, with shoes 843,5 for the first time! Then 6x749 and that was it. Several new records for me, here!

Next week, a much needed Winter break.

During the week I was able to construct add-ons from metal pipes that I could use to attach small weights to the Trapbar, hence the new records and unusual numbers. Since the heaviest lift was 394kg, I'm sure the extensions will easily hold up to 400kg+, if needed. I know I will go for at least 396,5kg in two weeks' time.

  6. I will refrain from the squat conversation, but I will attest to being a Taco squatter myself (never heard that one before), which is why I prefer the machine at work gym. I feel like the position it forces you to be in, minimises the bending in half effect.

Had to skip Monday and even Tuesday was just "well, I guess I could do the curls again", so Scott bench dumbell curls it was. Started from 57 this time and did 8+8, same with 61,5 and 66, then 7+7 with 70,5 as well as 6+8 with 75, but those started to be not very clean. Once again, each dumbell was re-racked while doing behind the neck presses with two arms.

Also did a light set of curls while sitting on the incline bench and then transitioned that into a set of light incline dumbell bench.

Tried the chest flies lying on the floor again, using a pair of 31 lb dumbells.

Reduced ab work for the finish.

Monday was batshit at work, yesterday was way better, so I should be able to go do something today.

  7. Been plowing and sweeping off snow for past couple of days, like maybe an hour per day. Not much action otherwise.

The chest flies on the floor seemed to be very effective, or at least totally different stimulus, since I had DOMS for two days afterwards. I may have to do those a bit more often.

Mabel use to do the spin wheel kick, which use to looked very impressive especially if the enhancement talent took a killer bump. But after a while, he could barely get like an inch off the ground and it looks he just fell sideways really fast.

Yeah, it looked like you'd be getting crushed by a windmill on the loose.

You’re not down for a tribute to the Night the Line was Crossed where Copeland and Garcia wrestle for 15 minutes and then Christian comes out and they go an hour?

That could work, or elimination style, but please no "one fall 3-way", since we already got one of those. The PPV may be so loaded that them getting a full hour would probably be a tough one to fit in.

  10. Ok, about the show itself: Dax-Mox was damn good and they had me thinking another draw, which would have been a big win for Dax. Ended up being a strong win for Mox. Surprised to see the tag coming match this early. So FTR take that one and there's a gimmick blow-off at Revolution? I'm fine with that.

Copeland-Garcia ended up being good until it was ruined (like things usually are) by The Patriarchy. Since Garcia was still at least conscious at the end of all of it, he seems like the more likely challenger, please, no 3-ways here.

Bucks vs Top Flight was good for what they were trying to do. I appreciate the attempt at slimy heeling and an update of the Bucks' characters, but if you do not wrestle to the utmost level of your physical capabilities (without being stupid, obviously), I will not find your performance entertaining, unless it's done for comedy, and even then, I'm unlikely to appreciate it fully when sober. So, while this was definitely different, it was not on the level of what I expect to be served when the menu says Young Bucks vs Top Flight. Threathening to put their slimy hands and knees on Tony was definitely worthy of heel heat. I'm sure they will find the best possible way of combining their new characters with their previous style and only cherry pick the best stuff later on.

Wardlow had a knee brace and both hamstrings taped, he dodged a serious bullet and wasn't going to take any chances. Even the opponent was lighter than usual.

Willow vs Skye Blue was good and Stokley actually ended up helping here. Does this mean Willow gets to challenge Julia for the title?

Samoa Joe, Swerve and Hangman talked. I dozed off, but did hear the crowd cheering for Swerve like crazy. That trios match looks like there could be more than one blow-up within those teams coming up.

The Toni tattoo touch up was not exactly what I thought it was going to be but the end effect was certainly the same.

Main event was crazy. This gave Undisputed Kingdom the tiniest shred of credibility, which they so desperately need at this point. This may have been the only time a box of thumbtacks from your friend was a better gift than chocolate, unless you're a diabetic who uses bulletinboards a lot. Drywall (?) is always appreciated, though, regardless of the occasion.

Guys, I have a great idea: Bang Bang Scissor Gang should have a 12-man tag on Rampage! Totally my own idea, btw!

The storyline is, Roddy Strong wants to weaken Orange Cassidy before he challenges him for the title (hence why he made his challenge in January for a match in March). He’s done his research, he knows Orange can only lose the belt if he comes in hurt (because of how his first reign ended), but he’s also seen that Cassidy tends to just go along with things and accept every challenge. So, being a cruel and heartless manipulator, he has his friend Taven challenge OC to a Deathmatch to soften him up. He’s sacrificing Taven to get an advantage himself, down the line.

Yeah, and he has to come in seriously beat up, not just little bit worn down. During the last reign, he must have successfully defended his title at least a dozen times while already being banged up and it still took Moxley pretty much all he had to keep him down. This is not only very smart strategy by Roddy, but also very necessary. Without OC being seriously worn down prior to their match, I would definitely not like Roddy's chances here and even then, it will probably take all the interference in the world for him to come out on top in this one. I do have a feeling he will get all the help he needs, however.

  12. Got a one hour pump workout done at home today. Elevated push-ups with handles and wrapping a resistance band on the handles and across my back to give extra strain on the way up was new. Also, a bunch of chest flies with kettlebells, while lying on the floor. Haven't done that in a while. Plenty of curls and shrugs, some overhead presses and rows. Plenty of stuff with the stronger resistance band, including an improvised hammer curl drop set by placing the band under my foot, grabbing the band low at first and inching my way higher once the ROM became shit at previous level. That worked.

Yesterday was mostly resting, but I did plow snow for an hour in the morning. Luckily, it was pretty much all powder snow, so not heavy, despite the large quantity.

  13. Had to skip yesterday and today didn't exactly go great, either. I did 3 sets of incline bench dumbell presses 1 set of 7 with one notch down  and 2 sets of 7 and 8 with two notches down (with 88's). Also failed two attempts to get the weights into position. That hasn't happened in a while. 5 sets of hammer curls.

Also 5 sets of Seal-Row with 264 and then 2 sets of standing barbell row with the same weight. This didn't go great, but hey, I tried it.

At the end I did 4 reps with 154 standing overhead barbell press. Actually, those weren't clean, either, but I moved it. In the very beginning, I tried the single arm dumbell overhead press with 88lbs, but only got two partials with both arms.

The work is really doing a number on me, but the heavy drinking on Saturday is also partially to blame here.

Nevertheless, the strike continues for the rest of the work week, so that was it for me. Probably get another workout in at home, but that will just be for the pump.

  14. TNA Hard to Kill 2024 now available on TNA+!

Watching Alexander vs Hammerstone  at the moment. Every match up to this point has rocked and then some! The X-Division 3-way was batshit!

And the home runs continue! That was a damn battle!

And the 4-way tag title match, holy shit!

Knockouts' World Title match got super intense by the end and the main event was made intriguing due to Moose's (mostly) logical and consistent selling of the left arm. Ending was good too, counter your opponent's finisher by hitting your own. I like Moose's entrance theme way more than I like Moose, but this was still a very good showing by him.

Anyone who hasn't seen this yet, check it out!!!

  15. Earlier this week (or it could have been late last week) I was browsing through Fight Club Finland's website and found out that they are about to launch their own streaming service. It's only 5,99 euros per month (material from 2006 onwards), but unfortunately this is where I have to draw the line. But it's interesting news nevertheless. I may give it a month sometime this year, who knows?

Damn, Billy Jack has seemed like a Dark Side of the Ring episode waiting to happen for years now and seemed very obviously mentally ill/CTE/drug burnout/emotional trauma in most of his modern shoot interviews. So yeah, sadly not super surprising.

Yeah, I was more shocked to find out that someone that unstable was actually married. He seemed very much mentally compromised two decades ago and I have my doubts things have improved since then. Well, obviously they have deteriorated further.

  18. Speedball vs Wentz was really good. Good to see Trent Seven back. I think there's a six man tag coming our way.

The former Aiden English was like "I know who that is!" when Simon Gotch attacked Josh Alexander.

Main event was good, but the System seems to be losing quite often this early into their tenure.

Are GYV just hedging their bets with the attack on Ace Austin or was this to explain an injury? I hope this doesn't mess up the best of three! Although winning two straight due to an injury you caused would be a pretty standard dastardly heel thing to do!
