  1. Some thoughts a few days late, as usual. The main event is just starting so, I may edit this a bit later, as usual too! The opening 6 man street fight (or whatever) was terrific! Fandango using Breeze as a catapult right...in...the...nuts was just that, nuts! The forklift spot was amazing too! Great story of heroes overcoming the odds on their own and coming out on top! Really good stuff. Tegan Nox wanting to talk things over with Candice was really nice, but you know, I may still be rather new to this wrestling thing, but somehow I get a feeling they still end up fighting, try as she might. Candice vs Kacy is like watching two My Little Ponies trying to beat the fuck out of each other! Kacy obviously needed to follow up on her offence, even Kayden told her to stay on Candice. LaRae had no such issues, she was on Kacy like sharks in a tornado, if that was a thing. The ending was NASTY! Stop hurting Kacy, you mean pixie! Oh, so Candice DOES want to talk things over with Tegan? I still have a bad feeling about this... Bronson Reed continues to be awesome. I figured Theory would mess things up for him. Thatcher moving closer to challenging Priest for NA-title, good for him. Rhea vs Martinez in a cage? Um, ok. You may have piqued my interest the tiniest bit there. Do you have anything else I might look at before I decide? Oh, excuse me, what I meant to say was, please inject this straight into my eyeballs and make it a double, thanks! The main event got going after the half-way mark. Pulling for Finn, personally. Looking at the stats during the entrances, apparently Adam Cole is 210lbs and 6 feet tall? I had no idea I was 5'10" and 230lbs, but apparently I am, if that's the case! Out of these guys, I'm closest to Balor's physique, but I've got news for ya, at 190lbs, my definition looks NOTHING like that! It was really cool for Barrett to basically give Balor the credit for retiring him. The last two falls were really well done, but c'mon! Are you fucking kidding me? Quite lucky they have another Super Tuesday lined up, to ACTUALLY give us a winner, jeez! The match was good and exciting, but as so many others, I too feel that these guys have already had their time on top. Still, Balor next week, please!
  2. Design #2 for the Pride title, no question. And yes, I'm fully aware of the "irony" of Shartnado going for number 2, so don't even start...
  3. I feel the same way. Pretty much the second I saw it, I was like "that...is...awesome!"
  4. OK, yeah. Either way, pretty bad. I'll grant you that.
  5. Open mouth, insert foot! Unless he was trying to be funny in some incomprehensible way? "Lucha Express" could be explained away as "senior moments" thinking Luchasaurus or Lucha Bros, and "Marty Janela" is close to "Marty Jannetty" , although how do you get "Marty" from "Joey" ? Not his best outing, obviously.
  6. Yeah, so as you can see, if clowns hate JR, not only can it be because of JR'S intolerance of those with bright coloured hair, but also because they are just lashing out due to the hatred bestowed upon them (unfairly or not ). ...oh, shit! JR hates clowns, because they are always trying to make him smile and keep pestering him, because he's physically unable to do so, and they are not aware of his condition. Fuck! I'm sorry. No more clowning on JR!
  7. You're not wrong, but a lot of people DO hate clowns, too! Just saying. .. JR, like Mauro is definitely an acquired taste at this point, but he is giving an air of legitimacy to the product, despite the fact that he is starting to be pretty much out of touch with today's wrestling (I refrain from using the word product ). He will be phased out eventually, but as long as he keeps his foot out of his mouth for the most part, I see no harm in keeping him around, so he can do what he used to love. But I also think he shouldn't have to be on TV every week, either. ...also, JR is on record not liking Doink's green hair, so clowns in general, may have an issue with him.
  8. ,A friend of mine has been battling with hip and back pain for the past few years now, so anytime I hear anyone having similar issues, it hits home. His descriptions of his condition sound so damn painful and uncomfortable that I never want to hear anyone going through similar stuff! Good to hear that you are able to get around somehow, but yeah not putting any weight on any extremity for a longer period of time is nigh impossible. Unless you could somehow immobilise the leg so it doesn't touch the ground while you move around, or something? And that wouldn't be without its problems if you COULD somehow remove the other leg from the equation (not literally, obviously )! But hey, maybe you come up with a resourceful way to do it within the next 6 weeks!
  9. Wrestlemania 23 is the last one I have as a DVD. I remember HBK coming out to the DX-theme, and thought it made him seem like more of a main eventer and also thought, "well, we know he means business now, if he's using his heel theme! "
  10. I'm a little bit of an Al Perez fan, but only know him for his short and rather uneventful stint as a slightly above a jobber, but below an actual JTTS on '89-'90 WWF. That release giant wing -move he got to do on a Conquistador on Prime Time, was a cool-ass finisher, but that's probably way beside the point. Just saying it Gary Hart and me, if only for a little bit.
  11. Oh, man! That sounds horrible! Bruised bone marrow just jumped pretty high on the list of terms never you want to hear your physician say! I hope you heal up without a surgery. It sounds like a really painful condition, can you like function in everyday life with it (aside from not being able to work, obviously) ? Get better soon! Well, get better period, but hopefully soon!
  12. This makes me sad. Velocity can evoke nostalgic feelings in some, but I have little to no connection to it. Considering I have so much stuff that I haven't gotten around to watching from the time period, Velocity wouldn't be all that high on my list of "priorities", if you can call it that.
  13. Ok, it could be the suits on the other men? Shelton does seem heavier than he was, but he's probably looked like that sine his return? MVP is way heavier than in 2009(ish), by the looks of things.
  14. He's somewhat smaller than he used to be in 2007 and a whole bunch smaller than in his main roster debut. I don't think he's ever been this ripped before. I kinda wonder if you confused the Apollo Crews pic for Lashley, since I'm more amazed that he's been able to retain this much of his size even after 14 years.
  15. This is the term I read was used at the time. I guess it is semantics which deragatory term is actually worse, but to my knowledge ( which could be wrong) Vince did not call her "a fucking whore" , which would be beyond the pale, if it were the case!
  16. I will refrain from starting a new topic until necessary, but just wanted to put some more stuff out about the '93 WWF rosters' physiques. Gee, it was pretty hard to come up with a top 5, let alone a top 10 from that era! Lex Luger and Scott Steiner are the obvious top 2, depending on whether you appreciate mass or definition, who do you consider number one. Rick Steiner, Crush and Virgil (all very different physiques at that) are the rest of the top five. Tatanka, Adam Bomb and a bit later on Ludvig Borga (yay Finland!) would be other contenders, but holy crap that was a bad year for bodies, for obvious reasons. By late '95 things look a lot different, but this '93(or early'94 ) is the closest to clean or natural WWF you will ever see! Now, I'm not against steroids per se, I'm just against lying about using them, because that creates so much confusion about what is and isn't possible without chemical help. Nobody on the top 5 is clean, no-one in the potential top 10 would be, but this rather unimpressive era features guys using less PED's than 70's, and they give a glimpse of how these guys would look, if they were regular people. Ok, so I'd also like to apologize for boring people with this subject, but I'm as interested with the "body talk" as people seem to be with the "art talk" before the thread got shut down. But I have been into the small but muscular guys since age 9 (not that way, not that there's anything wrong with that, really), and even more now for the past 8 years that I have seen and felt how damn hard it is to try and make any of that business happen in real life, without a needle in your ass!
  17. It is amazing that pretty much the second they have started using (don't call her Reina) Gonzales she has been nothing short of awesome! She's such a female Diesel, it's not even funny! As much as I appreciate Kai, I feel that Gonzales may actually win the NXT title before she does, and I have no problem with that!
  18. That is super brutal on Nia (probably 100% accurate, but still brutal) , but seriously, Riddle vs Gable happened? I may need to watch a rerun in 4 weeks. Probably won't, but that would pretty much do it! Goddammit, Riddle! Seriously. I was ALL IN on the Bro-serWeights, all in, bro! So F-you, a lot for making this awkward!
  19. I cannot fathom you have held on for this long, but good on you! You've got the French catch for now, and by the looks of things that's pretty much as much as anyone would need! Any '89 AJPW on top of that is just a bonus! Good luck on the treadmill! I hope you never need to pull that cord until like retirement boredom, or something?
  20. I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to here, but everyone should watch (early)94 WCW all the time, but '92 WCW even more!
  21. Not that it would have necessarily ended up that way, but if in that case, Leon White ends up in Ultimate Warrior's spot in WWF? That would be a mind-bender and a half, as well, huh?
  22. This pic is after the tragic car accident so it is understandable, but I was shocked watching the ECW super shows seeing how skinny Pillman looked even prior to the crash! Knowing his battles with substance abuse, it should not come as a surprise, but I'm so used to seeing him in the Flyin' Brian-shape (which was usually tremendeous). He sure bulked back up by late '96, which in hindsight was of course a terrible mistake, given how things ended up for him! That being said, as far as characters go, I was even more pumped for Pillman than I was Austin at King of the Ring '96. I was really bummed out that it took almost a year before he could return to the ring, and was never really the same again until the end. If the crash didn't happen, we could have had at least one more year of physically capable Pillman, his demons notwithstanding. The fact that it didn't happen, makes me all the more sad.
  23. I personally latched on to Cena big time, especially after the Benoit tragedy. He seemed like a safe choice not to get burned as badly again. So far so good, despite the cracks in his glass-house as well. Us being the same age, was an added bonus as well. As far as Cena "can't wrestle" is ridiculous, no matter how you want to describe "being able to wrestle"! The matches with Umaga, Great Khali, Kevin Owens and AJ Styles show in how many different ways he CAN infact "wrestle".
  24. Damien Priest. I was originally gonna write "that infamous guy in the hot-tub" , but then I figured there could be more than 0% chance somebody could think I was talking about someone else, and thought better of it...
