If the ref crew in this Dallas & NYG game isnt investigated I will be pissed. This is the most egregious bailing out by a ref crew I have seen in a long time. A Giants D linemen just got called for roughing the passer for the bodyweight thing when he landed on his side on his own hip. Dak landed next to him on his own hip. How in the actual fuck is that a penalty? There's been a dozen of those today. Im baffled there's not more outrage about this obvious tainted crew just calling EVERYTHING against the Giants.

Someone talk me out of buying a flight to Dallas to go fight these refs. Some of these calls are ridiculous.

Edited to add: As far as female GOAT Mercedes is up in the top two or three of that discussion and is one of my favorite parts of AEW. I actually look forward to her stuff more than Toni's stuff these days. For me she has that RVD TV Title run going right now, where the mid card title is more compelling than the world title. Its already renewed for a Season 2 & 3. The writers room is already open for Season 2 and they're actively working on it. I guess that was main the reason for the Original Sin cancelation. Its the same creative team. Was too taxing and Paramount wanted more Resurrection in a quicker fashion.

I didnt comment in last week's thread in real time. Probably because it only took until half time before I needed a 100mg gummy to relieve the sadness and pain from being a Giants fan. One thing is absolutely crystal clear to me tho. Death. Taxes. And the NY football Giants having a dog shit offensive line. Inevitable. Is Barkley good? Is Daniel Jones good? Is Russel Wilson good? Doesn't matter. Because behind that line no one is good. And its been that way since right after the last Superbowl win in 2012. Misery.

Right. I think that was my hope for the revival. One or two normal seasons that lead into the real meat of the show a man hunt season or two then trial drama for another season leading to whatever conclussion they have planned. No more faking deaths or trying to have him killed. The show should end with him facing some kind of consequences. Show us his trial. Show us surprise character witnesses like Cody & Astor. Show us characters from this universe on the stand struggling with acceptance and the moral grey-ness of it all.

The problem with the Bayne as Drago scenario is that she already got beat. Drago didnt come in and lose a fall to Rocky then come back a few months later as an unstoppable murder monster. The unstoppable murder monster squash idea is a good idea and good way to shake up the division for a bit. But for that beat to work as well as Rocky, has to be someone new thats debuting as the unstoppable murder monster ala Drago.

Poor Cutlets. Will he clear waivers? Coukd be a quick return to the practice squad if he doesnt get snatched up.

In general Ian is pretty well regarded around here. I just dont enjoy his commentary tho. He's like an auctioneer and has the phony over the top announcer voice. Just nails on the chalkboard for me. Just my opinion there, I know Im in the minority.

I'll concede the MJF point. He did try and set a man on fire to manipulate the cash in and that's as much of a catalyst to change the rule as anything. So I withdraw that point lol. There's nothing you can say that will get me to agree it makes any sense to take your secondary brand's world champion and make them also be your main brands tag champ. Or how shoving him with a random dude with no connective fiber makes perfect sense. You can say well the ROH title is more like the TNT champ. Thats fine. Ill accept that. Id also be complaining if a random TNT champ was shoved with someone else and given a tag title reign over actual legitimate teams. Thats a fundamental pillar I have for my wrestling philosophy. The tag team division should be a division separate from regular wrestling. And you should prioritize a cohessive team over two randoms shoved together.

My understanding is he legit needs surgery on his neck. They did the All In neck chair deal to write him out. Found out he'd be okay to work one more without doing any more damage, so they let him work London. Then re-ran the angle because he needs surgery and they wanted Deathriders to be the cause of it.

There's no reason to jump to talking down to someone because they disagree with your views on wrestling. I've noticed you do that to a few people here and its not nesicary. -Teaming together for a month doesnt make you a team. They have so many legitimate teams, why are they forcing the top singles wrestler of ROH (usually what being the world champion means) into a team? Its legitimately no different then Jeri-show or Show-miz. Its two singles guys they want to feature being shoved in the tag division because there's no other spot for them to be featured right now. -Being one of 3 monster tropes in a group of 8 is much different than being one of 3 in Tge Hurt Syndicate. My point being you stuff him in an already iver stuffed group he's instantly gonna be lost in the shuffle. Maybe in 12 months we'll get Wardlow vs Takeshita which would be dope, but there's an equal chance we dont. They tease a lot of shit they dont deliver. -What in saying about the cash in is, you could have used an obvious bullshit cash in attempt as your catalyst for changing the rule. This one didnt land for me. Solid enough but the expectations are just so high and there was no blow away match. So how is AEW's tag division any different than the worst WWE tropes? Instead of investing in acts that are an actual team with matching gear / team name / dedicated to the craft of tag team wrestling, we'll just mash two singles dudes together and let them beat actual cohesive teams. Oh hey we'll just mash their two names together and their musics together too. This is just a work rate friendly version of Jeri-Show and its lazy. Wardlow returns to immediately get thrown in a big group of utility players. They already have Archer & the injured Brian Cage, why is Wardlow with them and not off on his own wrecking people building up to a Hurt Syndicate invite? The Osprea angle. Dude. You literally did the chair deal at the last ppv and had him no sell it so he can work this show... just to do the same chair neck deal again??? Lazy. Super lazy. The Deathriders didnt need the heat either. The quality of matches was pretty good. But mostly forgone conclussion matches. I thought for sure MJF was gonna snap, get DQ'd then try and immediately cash in only to fail. Don't see the sense of keeping the deal on him, and especially taking away the heel ambush aspect of it. Match was great tho. My favorite of the night.

Episode 8 thoughts...

Ugh. First casualty of the Skydance / Paramount merger, they canceled Original Sin. Original Sin was so well recieved and had so much potential. It couldn't have cost that much to shoot vs other series. But still got axed despite having a season 2 renewal. Annoying.

If there ends up being an opening I'd be down for joining.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say not moving Cena's last date to a PPV head to head with AEW was a concession to Peacock. Because WWE's claim of fulfilling dates is based on counting night 2s as separate events. Which is dubious at best. So Im guessing Peacock said we'll accept that and not sue to block if you keep Cena's last match on that date and exclusive to us.

Thats true, but that lacks context to make it make sense. While it was more valuable Ted Turner was in charge. He wouldn't allow it to be sold so there was never a reason to take a meeting. Once the merger happened and they could sell without his input, WCW's value had tanked. Bischoff's group had a 60 million offer in but once Turner decided they wanted no wrestling period, what's the company worth without TV? Plus the struggle of finding a home for that kind of negative brand value company at the time was impossible. Now would Bischoff had bought it for 4 million without the TV like WWE did? Maybe. But that offer never got to trickle down to him because of WWE's right of first refusal due to the settlement over Diesel and Razor.
