  1. I get & agree with the sentiment that there's dozens of women I'd personally rather see. But sometimes there's things you can do like this to just make one of your performers feel loved. Like there's no reason they couldn't throw a quick 10 woman tag on Zero Hour. Wrap it around a captains gimmick where Emi does her deal and Mako Itoh does a dueling singing deal for her side. Like no, based on how Emi has been positioned on TV, it doesn't make sense to feature her. But sometimes doing that kind of thing just because boosts morale. Like people see that the people in charge just care and it makes everyone feel better about the place they work. Not meaning that to come of as a rant. Because I get it. It's hard to disagree with Emi not being on the show. But I also think a gigantic show like this there deserves to be a pre show get a bunch of people on deal for the men and the women. You have 2 title matches on the pre show already. Throw on a quick women's 10 person tag and a men's battle royal. Show the love to as many people as you can. And maybe they do announce two more Zero Hour matches on Collision. Who knows.
  2. Fair play. It's not unbelievable that a certain type of individual could be acting that way. Still, I feel like that is out of character for what we know of Cash's personality. Now I'm well aware there are those that have a different public face vs their private personality. But there's not a lot of evidence Cash is the type that would be a wild man gunslinger just zooming around ready to intimidate (at the very least) randos with a Glock. The affidavit just strikes me as odd. The alleged victim was adamant he couldn't be late for work and made them meet him at a car dealership? I'm getting carny salesman type who recognized Cash and figured he could cash in with a wild story. But that's just conjecture and probably little wishful / hopeful thinking. I guess that's all for the courts to decide.
  3. Reading that it says he pulled to the shoulder and passed while pointing a gun at him? Who drives with the gun in their hand? Who has it at the ready while speeding down the highway? When I saw road rage I had figured there was so some sort of altercation or incident. This reads dude saw a car driving aggressively then it passed him while the dude pointed a gun at him. Seems awfully hard to belive the statement as written.
  4. Right. I'd be shocked if the match doesn't happen. Cash is cooperating. I think it would be very easy for a lawyer to explain this overseas trip is for work and one of his biggest money making opportunities. I don't think they will disallow it as part of the bail process.
  5. I want it to happen. Get him in there man. Luchasaurus loses to Darby & turns of Christian right after with a big surprise save at All Out. (Donno the exact date it expires, if that's even possible). E&C vs FTR. E&C & Rhino vs CMFTR are both things I'd like to see. The nostalgia of them vs The Hardy's one more time. Them vs The Bucks. Them vs BC Gold. I don't really have much desire for Edge to do any singles but there is a lot in the tank for a tag run if he so chooses. I kind of have a feeling he can't bring himself to not end his career in WWE tho. While Christian came and went a few times because he was unwanted, Edge is basically a lifer. Would be pretty surprising to see him change that near the finish line. But who knows. I'll enjoy it if we get it.
  6. The only gimmick I have is stating my opinions and trying to back them up. On the other hand there's at least 2-3 posts a day you post that make me say out loud holy fucking shit that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this board. Let's not forget you argued that right of first refusal means WCW had to say no to the $60million dollar offer on the table from Fusient Media because WWE offered $2.5 million instead over in the Dark Side thread. So I guess I'll just defer to your superior intelligence and walk away in shame
  7. As stated I find it unethical. Those three went out and did something that company couldn't do for themselves. All In outdrew what ROH could draw. All In pulled in more ppv buys than ROH could at the time. All In made more waves and buzz than ROH ever did. It's pretty simple. Im always a bit taken aback when people side with the big companies taking credit for something they had no part in. If ROH wanted to own something like All In they should have put the work in to make one happen. Not take someone else's accomplishment and just slap their little (TM) after it. You are free to disagree with me on it. But stop acting like what I'm saying is some foreign concept with no basis. Also I have no idea how The Bucks or Cody feel about this subject one way or the other. My view point isn't predicated on what their viewpoint is tho. Even if they were totally fine with it I still find it unethical.
  8. The entirety of the promotion and all of the social media posts from Cody & The Bucks at the time were very forthright about how this was a show coming out of their own pockets. It was a giant risk with no promise of return on investment. They were going All In and putting their own money where their mouth was in response to Meltzer's tweet. They did countless videos and vlogs talking about this being their first experience booking talent and juggling budgets and securing deals for the Zero Hour to be on WGN. It was in no way funded by Ring of Honor. They hired ROH's filming & production crew and were allowed to use ROH theme musics, that's it. Somehow in the details of that, ROH negotiated to own the event footage & rights. Which my point is, even if Cody & The Bucks signed off on that to get ROH's production, I think that's a shady and unethical thing for ROH to demand.
  9. Okay. I don't begrudge you for that stance. But you're not being rational. Because the objective is to put on the best pair of shows they can put on in the same week (both in quality & in money made). I think it's stupid they booked 2 PPVs in the same week. But that's the cards that are dealt in this scenario. And it enters yelling at clouds territory to expect them to make All Out into an episode of Rampage just so all the best stuff can happen at All In. The have two shows in the same week. They have to book the stories in tandem. The only opponents bigger for Punk than Joe (with where we are now) are MJF unification, Danielson, Kenny / Bucks / Hangman stuff that won't happen. Anything else needs a story built to it to have any aura or meaning. Jay White would be a really good match. But it doesn't have any bigger feel than the Joe match will have with where we are now. We're in agreement the build has under delivered. I am the first one to rant about how the longer PPV windows *should* mean matches announced further out with longer promotion and hype. There's a more rational middle ground between the crappy build and ultimate dream match mania ends of the spectrum tho. I'm just trying to slide you closer to the middle where I feel the reaction belongs.
  10. No, my stance is pro the performers and anti the large entities that do petty things that stifle creativity and do punitive damage just because. Tony Khan isn't part of this equation. The Bucks & Cody should own the rights to the name All In & the footage to it. Not the old ROH. Not even the current AEW. If they sell or license it to TK, cool or whatever. You seem to like to lick the boots of the big corporations and advocate for the workers to just shut the fuck up and be happy with their pittance. Pretty gross if you ask me.
  11. What in the actual fuck are you talking about? Smart Mark isn't a wrestling promotion that told Mike Burns hey brother you can go out and do your own side project. And then after the fact went like well like sikkeeee, all the work you put in is actually our property. Smart Mark is a videographer service that you hire. You pay them x dollars. They produce your DVDs / streams and you split the profits with them based upon the deal you signed. But they don't own your footage. They just produce / display it based upon the contract you sign. Horrible analogy for this situation.
  12. I understand your thought process. But I don't understand what you're advocating for. Just the specific matches you want? Punk vs Joe is one of the top 3 or 4 Punk matches they can run. Yes they ran a TV version already within the last month. But if you watched that you saw two guys holding way back. Probably because they knew they'd get more time to tell a better story in a few weeks. Bucks vs FTR is the biggest tag team title match they can put on. I agree I wish there was more build to it. But they have years of previous history to call upon. While it hasn't been built to cleanly, this is a dream match for sure. MJF vs Cole is the hottest story they have had in awhile. This is hotter than the 4 pillars match that actually main evened the actual "AEW WrestleMania". Double or Nothing was their first PPV the one they view as the biggest of the 4. Jericho vs Osprey is janky. But it has story build behind it. They just haven't finished telling the story yet. Callis put a wedge between Jericho & his family. Now when Jericho agrees to join Callis, he goes whoa whoa whoa Chris you're just not Callis Family material. I just wanted to introduce you to my newest client, and make sure you didn't have any friends to interrupt this introduction. Then Osreay gets him from behind. Instant match justification. Omega/Hangman/Ibushi vs Takeshta/White/Juice sounds DOPE AS FUCK to me. That match is going to be 10x hotter than Omega vs Takeshta alone, in my opinion. I also fully believe the thought process here to give each Callis story a spotlight singles match between the two shows. The Callis Jericho stuff gets All in the Callis Omega stuff gets the singles at All Out. That doesn't mean this match is dogshit, or unworthy of an 80,000 crowd. What you're also not factoring in is what the workers want. Omega loves Ibushi. Omega loves Hangman. He himself has probably pushed to be able to team with his friends and do something he finds fun for this show. The women have been booked poorly. The 4 way is not ideal at all and I'm not gonna sugar coat this one or defend it. Coffin match is a perfect Sting match for this show. He hasn't chosen to retire yet. You can't do some giant retirement angle against the man's wishes. That's how you get resentment like WWE making Flair retire. I too think this should be Mox vs OC and not the trios. But again you cant give everything the spotlight it deserves on this show and give nothing to All Out. The trois match being here makes sense. It pays off the dangling Kingston story thread. It will lead to Mox vs OC at All Out. Just because this sold 80k tickets doesn't mean you absolutely cannibalize your future events just to empty the tank for the big crowd. You keep referencing this should be WrestleMania because of the huge crowd. But when the hell has WWE even booked a WrestleMania like that? You get 4 or 5 marquee matches with mostly filler or multi man matches thrown in with some let me up heehaw stuff. I think you're fighting from a straw man position here because the only real points of contention you've raised are 'do it like a WrestleMania' and 'every match should be a dream match'. And that's not a realistic possibility. WM3 wasn't booked like that. SS92 wasn't booked like that. Collision in Korea wasn't booked like that. None of these giant stadium shows have ever been what you're asking for. And the most important point here, the original All In wasn't that either. So I don't get the justification for all the outrage you have.
  13. And for clarification, ROH took ownership of the footage and event rights before AEW was announced & before The Bucks & Cody decided to leave. It wasn't retaliation for a perceived transgression. ROH were dicks just to be dicks. Without any justification to change the terms.
  14. ROH gave them all the permissions to run and promote a stand alone event. Then when they sold out instantly I feel ROH's stance on the event changed. It was a jealousy. I'm suggesting if you give your guys permission to do their own spinoff show (that they did 100% of the branding, marketing, and promotion for themselves), you don't then go ah well yeah we said you could doooo ittt..... but like you can't ownnnn itttt. It's a backhanded thing to do. If you give your guys the freedom to do it, don't nickle and dime them after the fact.
  15. This is essentially it, but because Cody & The Bucks did production through Ring of Honor, the deal was that Ring of Honor owned the footage and rights to the event. So AEW legally wasn't allowed to use the All In name. So riffed off of it with All Out. Since going all in and going all out essentially mean the same thing. But ROH kinda did The Bucks & Cody dirty. Sure we will film the event for you and sign off on music rights, but we own the footage and name is some shady shit. Some we're jealous you did so well energy.
  16. Likely booking I seem coming out of the MJF / Cole tag match. Or maybe likely isn't the right word but the booking I'd most like to see I guess. They use this to advance a story. Cole advocated for this match. And he did it altruistically. Wanting to do something cool with his bud. During the match MJF gets an injury. Aussie Open slip over. And then you thread the story through the PPV with promos & trainers room stuff that MJF has figured it out. Adam Cole is a scumbag who did this on purpose to hurt him leading into the biggest match of his life. They work the match and Cole is genuinely sorry for MJF and does not put his foot on the gas. Cue Roddy, Taven, & Bennett during a ref bump. Cole & MJF line up together to battle these assholes. Boom MJF turns on Cole and was never injured. MJF is over super dirty and forms a new Kingdom group. Cole out on Dynamite and demands a rematch at All Out where he won't hold back. They run the match back with some kind of stipulation. MJF goes over with help from The Kingdom. Adam Cole moves on to teaming with The Young Bucks against Roddy, Taven & Bennett. MJF moves into his next story for Grand Slam (Punk v MJF unification)? All this is to say even if the booking is different from what I'm predicting, there's a real storytelling purpose they made this match for. This is their hottest story in a while and you know there's a lot of thought and planing going into it. So I would hope people are actually excited to see how the story plays out and not complaining about Cole & MJF taking spots away from two other people. Who cares? This is prime story telling.
  17. Early in the match Reigns powdered and Jey hit a dive that Roman wasn't in position for. It was basically a flying forearm right into the kidney region. You could here Jey yelling "Joe" as he's shooting through the ropes realizing Reigns wasn't in position. He was favoring the low back / kidney region for a bit after that. Not 100% sure that would be the injury but it's probably a good guess.
  18. I don't get the correlation lol. I don't have strong opinions on what I think they should be doing either way. So if they aren't in the process of breaking that record it's fine. I don't have a personal attachment to them doing it. I just have a pretty strong feeling that's what the intent has always been since Roman came back and started this character. On the other hand people in this thread are big mad and have personal attachment to when and where Roman has to drop the belt (or should have already done so). Multiple uses of jump the shark and nWo lite. I mean if people have found their personal jump off point to where they aren't enjoying it anymore I get it. It's the hyperbolic comparing their personal lack of enjoyment to this being compared to one of the worst & most damaging to business metrics story conclusion in wrestling history. It's not at all close to that point. Can it still get there? Sure. But it's not even close yet.
  19. Heyman is literally telling everyone we're 3 years deep in a 9 year story. I may be reading too much into a throw away metaphor. But this def fits my narrative so Imma run with it lol. Breaking Bruno's record confirmed. I do think there's a bit of over reacting going on here. This is not nWo lite. When the focus of the story shifts to Horace / Virgil / Steevie Ray level guys fighting over being in charge of Hogan's half of the nWo when he's away we can talk. This is still really strong story telling with the core characters that started the whole thing. Lets put things back into a realistic perspective. I might have a slightly more rational view point here because I don't watch any of the weekly TV shows. I just watch the PPVs. That's the best way to follow the story in my opinion. Instead of the character and motivations getting over exposed for me, I get 8-12 story beats spread out a month apart. 8-12 story beats vs 52 story beats is a big difference. So The Bloodline hasn't jumped the shark for me. The highs of the Sami story beat haven't been reached again, but we got 6 more years to get some.
  20. Fixed that for ya. Everyone needs to get on board with the breaking Bruno's record deal like I've been saying for ages now. They print money out their ass these days. The bottom line is safe no matter what they do. Might as well break the all time record, crown Reigns the biggest WWE mega star of all time, and try your best to make the next guy off of beating an eight year reign. Sami was red hot, they didn't do it. Cody was red hot, they didn't do it. Jey Uso was red hot (and made the most story sense), they didn't do it. The goal post moving and explanations as to why never make any sense. Except for one.
  21. I like men's wrestling. I like women's wrestling. I like tag team wrestling. I like brawls and spot fests and technical matches. I think wrestling is at it's best when you have the full menu of creativity available to you. So I have always personally been against a women's only show for the same reason I'd be against a tag matches only show. You take away a lot of the creativity and tools in the tool box when you put yourself into such a tightly constrained "booking" box. And for that reason I'd like to add this thought to the conversation. The tight formatting of Dynamite is the main hindrance here. We're at over 200 episodes where EVERY ONE OF THEM is 6 matches. EVERY ONE OF THEM has only one women's match a week. The ideal booking (to me at least) that alleviates the problem of lack of women's matches is to throw that strict format out the window. Do 10 matches one week. Do 5 matches the next. Don't have a set amount for ANYTHING. Have a 5 match Dynamite that has 3 women's matches one week. Have an 8 match Dynamite the next that may only have 2 women's matches. Basically if you mix up the formula to the extent you aren't doing the same thing every week, the problem goes away. Fans aren't able to sit there and recognize a pattern for 200 weeks straight where 1/6 matches is a women's match and that women's match more often than not is match 5 out of 6. I have no earthly idea how many women's matches WWE has in a week. And I bet neither do they. Which is why I think you hear about this being an AEW thing and WWE doesn't really get the same flack. Flexibility and creativity. That's how you fix the way the women are currently booked. You add more variety and let go of the OCD rules you've bound yourself to as the booker. I'm pretty surprised AEW doesn't get more flack for the rigidity of their TV format. I think that's an unspoken reason why Collision seems fresh tho. One week you only have 3 matches because one went an hour. The next you have 7 or 8.
  22. You can lead a gremlin to water but can't get him wet after midnight I guess The right of first refusal is literally the right to make the first offer. Or in a case like this when another offer was put on the table first, the right to accept those terms or refuse them. WCW entered into a deal with Fusent Media. That was because WWE was given the chance to agree to the $60 million offer on the table or refuse it. They refused it. That's why it was officially announced on TV & in real news publications that Fusent had entered into the deal with AOL Time Warner. WWE decided not to exercise their clause because $60 million was way more than they were willing to pay. Then when the deal fell apart because the TV was pulled, WWE bought up the scarps. Thanks for that smug rebuttal, but it made you look even dumber than usual. Awkward.
  23. Don't think you understand how this works. WWE don't get to say nah you can't sell for $60 million because we want it for $2.5 million (which is how your statement comes off). Right of first refusal is Fusent Media saying we are going to purchase WCW for $60 million. Then AOL Time Warner had to go okay hold on a second we can't accept that until we ask WWE. Hey WWE do you want to buy WCW for $60 million? WWE say fuck no. WCW goes okay Fusent they refused the purchase price, we are good to go. WCW willingly pissed away $50+ million because Jamie Kellner thought wrestling was stupid and didn't want it on his networks. The price was $60 with the Thunder & Nitro time slots locked in for (I believe) 5 years. Once Keller was like nah dawg we don't want rasslin on this here fine station, no TV time inclused anymore. Then Fusent Media pulled out. WCW as a company with no TV distribution was not worth $60 million. Then WWE were like oh you don't have a buyer anymore, want these spare peanuts for your rings, trademarks, tape library, & Lance Storm? Sold!
  24. I don't really believe what was reported is actuate then. At least in regards to buckle bombs and blind into the corner things. Sending someone into the buckle is banned now? Highly doubt it. That is "blind and backwards into the buckle". Blows to the back of the head are banned? Even safely worked ones? I just don't buy it. The rest of what's on that list makes sense to me. Unprotected chair shots to the head, seizure sells and fencing response. Blood & weapons in the crowd. That all makes sense. But there's no way in hell anyone is going to get me to believe sending your opponent in for a hard buckle is banned now. I don't work there. I've never been backstage there. I don't have any first hand knowledge. I'm just saying I don't buy the accuracy of the reporting.
  25. I do generally agree with the majority of what you wrote and only have a few small things to add. Aftercare isn't a thing in wrestling lol. If you're working some green kid that won't blade himself and you have to do it for him (as is one scenario put forth for all this), no matter who you are old ass Abby grabbing a paycheck or sweet kind Mick Foley who really does care about helping new guys he's never met... you don't go make sure someone knows how to disinfect a cut. That's a weird thing to expect one adult to check in on another adult for. Now if something goes wrong and someone gets hurt you absolutely check in on them. But putting blame on a man in his 60s for not checking if a man in his 30s knows how to wash out a cut is a weird thought to me. Again I agree with almost all of your thoughts. But I disagree Abby has no defense. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff. He has to prove that more likely than not he got it from Abby in a civil case. Now it's possible he got it from Abby. And probably even is likely after seeing that blade reuse. But he has to PROVE that to a jury. Without a recent blood test right before that and a test right after it there isn't really proof. A good defense attorney could have pulled footage of all the other hardcore shit Hannibal was doing. Because he wasn't just juicing with Abby. A jury still may have found it more likely than not and awarded him a win. But I would think there's plenty of lawyers who would take that case and try to cast doubt on how exactly he contracted it. Subpoenaed those blood results that confirmed the hep c and checked for any other possible explanations. Were there any needle based drugs that were in his system, legal or otherwise. Asked for blood tests of all the other wrestlers Hannibal had been known to juice with. Etc. I'm not defending Abby. He's pretty clearly a carny and a shitty person. It's also very likely he did give him hep c. I'm just saying had he chose to go to court I think a good defense attorney could have made a coherent case that could have got him out of all this.
