  1. I'm all in on The Hurt Business and Lashley is finally looking like a world beater. Bonus for finally finding Shelton something to do. Who the hell would have thought MVP randomly showing up at the Royal Rumble would lead to him being one of the highlights of Raw?

And the underrated moment of the night had to be Lashley choking Ricochet and Alexander only for Ali to come barreling over the top rope and knock the shit out of Lashley. Great six mand and give me more of this.

And please never break up heel Sasha and Bayley. They are awesome together and as much as I like them both we will never hit the highs of the Takeover matches again. This is gold. Keep it up

How have I never before heard of THE WRAITH (1986)? I mean, just read this description:

“Packard Walsh and his motorized gang control and terrorize an Arizona desert town where they force drivers to drag-race so they can 'win' their vehicles. After Walsh stabs the decent teenager Jamie Hankins to death for being intimate with a girl whom Walsh wants for himself, the mysterious Jake Kesey arrives, an extremely cool motor-biker with an invincible car. Jake befriends Jamie's girlfriend Keri Johnson, takes Jamie's sweet brother Billy under his wing and manages what Sheriff Loomis can not - the methodical and otherworldly elimination of Packard's criminal gang.”

great episode of How Did This Get Made.

Darsow's golf gimmick in the dying days of WCW was phenomenal.

Was this when he was trying to get the world shittiest arm submission over? I remember him having a move called the Barely Legal which the announcers sold like he was going to tear some poor son of a bitch's arm off but it just looked like he was bending the arm ever so gently. This always used to make me laugh my ass off but I can't remember what point in time this happened

    BATISTA FASHION WATCH~!

This. This is why I love Big Dave. Anyone else(and I include me)wears that outfit and you are officially a thundering douchebag. Big Dave ROCKS that shit and dares you to say otherwise. Ill bet my house he's wearing skinny jeans and wingtips and looks better then I ever will on my best day. hats off to you, super duper dave batista!

So now the beautiful Lexi Kauffman has joined Cameo.  If you thought David Hassellhoff's $300 price was steep, move over because Lexi is charging $400!  That's almost $100 per foot of fury.  Not to be outdone... Roman Reigns is charging $500!!  Yeah I'm sure his fan base really can afford the $500 for a 2 minute video!

Man, Alexa is brave as hell for doing this. The wave of creepers asking to see her feet or some other bizarre shit is going to be off the charts.

And something tells me the "Face Fuck me, Finn" lady is counting out the dollars for Mr. Reigns.

  6. @For Great Justice has  a great point. I don't know how you can shake up where we are right now. Because the show itself was not bad. If you took this exact show and had it in front of a real audience I think it would be better received. A large part of the problem is that these empty arena shows just feel weird no matter what they do. Sasha and Bayley are working their asses off. Drew is coming off like a god damn BOSS and is making the most of what he's been given. Bobby Lashley needs to be giving MVP half his check, cause Montel is dragging him kicking and screaming towards finally being interesting.

You can't really tell what's working and what's not since there isn't a real crowd. Plus you have the senile old nutjob with the attention span of a fruit fly changing things at will. And this senile old fool relies on a guy pushing 60 who has lived through multiple heart attacks. I don't know who this person is or where they are but WWE badly needs a fresh mindset and new ideas in creative. There is 100% a place for Bruce but I don't think head of everything is it. Say what you will about the AEW boys but they are at least younger and more open to fresh ideas. No, they aren't always good ones but they are DIFFERENT. We need different.

PLEASE, nobody send Cornette the video of yesterday's "training session" where Manabu Nakanishi taught some of the STARDOM girls how to do a toture rack into a German suplex.

The Cornette podcasts are one of the things keeping me going through these dull days and I really don't want to listen to him complaining about the STARDOM girls doing "stupid, outlaw shit like a torture rack into a fucking German suplex!!!"

Could someone send me in the direction of that video? Just because I'm curious how that would even work?

The more I came to love Batman TAS, the more I disliked Batman Forever as Carrey portrays the Riddler pretty much as a Joker clone and that either screams miscasting or that Jim just gave them what they asked him for.

The Seal song on the soundtrack is awesome and there is a U2 song on there that isn't so bad either.

Batman Forever did give us the all time great real life Tommy Lee Jones quote that he "Could not sanction your buffoonery" to Carrey. I can't stop laughing just thinking of that conversation

  9. I loved the hell out of that Wardlow squash. Dude just mauled that poor bastard from the word go and looked like a damn beast the entire time. He's another Hager esque dude that doesn't need to be wrestling 30 minutes a shot. Just kill fuckers dead for 3-5 minutes and we all win

  10. So, the Viking Raiders thing......What the hell was the point? Are we supposed to laugh at these goofs driving around with a huge leg of meat and helmets?  Did they reach into the box of gimmicks and get the comedy gimmick Revival was going to be saddled with?

I'm not saying they have to be badasses and win every match. But I just can't fathom how that was filmed, everyone involved looked back at what they shot and said "yep, this is gold. Put this on television ASAP!"

    Such good shit, indeed

  11. (1)so do we know the legit reason Finn missed the show?

(2)The whole Drake thing is weird. I get using real life situation into a story when dude has sympathy and all, but is there really a point unless he ends up winning? I know we are talking about a company who loves to kick people while they are down, but "Yeah, you're fired. But you still get to compete in this tournament. What? You lost again? Fuck, that blows, brah. Best of luck in your future endevors!" is some bad story telling

  12. So, as a Kentucky boy and a long time USWA mark it pains me to say this, but never put Lawler on commentary ever again. He’s not funny, he adds nothing and it’s just not a good look for the old white guy to be making jokes like “Raman noodle moonsault”. He shouldn’t be traveling right now anyway but we got to use him, talking head on network or something.

On this day five years ago, Marvel’s Daredevil Season 1: A Netflix Original Series was released. At the time I said it was not only the best thing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was the best Marvel live-action ever done. Since then, more things have come out from the MCU but my opinion remains unchanged though Daredevil: Season 3 pushed Daredevil: Season 1 close.

Here’s why I rate Daredevil: Season 1 as I do. *SPOILERS FOLLOW*

The origin story of Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin. Matt Murdock is blinded as a child but gains heightened senses. Murdock is a lawyer during the day and fights crime at night as a vigilante, Daredevil. Wilson Fisk sees abuse by his Father at the expense of him and his Mother, becomes a businessman and is a feared criminal whose name you should not say.

The great ensemble cast with no weak links across the board: Matt Murdock/Daredevil played by Charlie Cox, Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin performed by Vincent D’Onofrio, Eiden Henson as Franklin Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, Bob Gunton as Leland Owsley, Vondie Curtis Hall who plays Ben Ulrich, Toby Leonard Moore’s James Wesley and Father Paul Lantom played by Peter McRobbie. You can never say never, but you’re not going to find anybody to play Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin better than Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.

If you take the first two episodes and the best two called Into the Ring (Ep1) and Cut Man (Ep2) showing them as a standalone feature film, the origin would only be behind Batman Begins (2005) as the cream of the crop live action origins. To go with the origin told in those two episodes, Into the Ring ends on a great music montage of things to come and of course, there’s THAT one take hallway fight from Cut Man.

Best moments: Matt Murdock’s speech in confession to his Priest (Into the Ring, Ep1)…The first talk between Murdock and Fisk over walkie-talkie (Condemned, Ep6)…Bill Fisk teaching his son violence which leads to Wilson Fisk telling Vanessa he wears his Dad’s cufflinks to remind him he’s not cruel for the sake of cruelty (Shadows in the Glass, Ep8)…

Wilson Fisk’s about the parable of the Good Samaritan while he’s travelling in police custody (Daredevil, Ep13)…The ending to Daredevil, Ep13 with Wilson Fisk in his jail cell looking at white wall as he was forced to as a child by his Dad…Daredevil in his new red suit standing on a rooftop, hears a scream and jumps down from the building set to more great music by John Paesano.

I do have some criticisms though mainly the number of deaths of key supporting characters: James Wesley, Ben Ulrich and Leland Owsley. All three were missed in Daredevil: Season 2 and Season 3. I’ve gotten used to the first red suit, I like it but it could have been something more. Least it was improved by a new cowl and baggier pants in the second half of Daredevil: Season 2 and the Defenders crossover.

    Thanks for reading!

I think the biggest crime of the Netflix shows going by the way side is the loss of Daredevil, specifically D'Onofrio and Cox. They were both so, so good and it sucks that two such amazing portrayals aren't going to interact with all the other characters established in the MCU. I can understand that you can't bring everyone back, but if there is a way to work those two into a future project, PLEASE make it happen, Mr. Mouse

  14. See, the thing with Edge and his "people just want to complain" is that almost everyone who has talked about this show is universally praising the effort of the wrestlers involved given these weird ass circumstances we are in. Let's be honest, would anyone REALLY fault them if they wanted to dial it down a notch or 3 when there is no crowd? I sure wouldn't. But everyone involved did the best they could. And everything Randy and Edge did leading up to the match was off the charts great. I am bored to tears by Orton but I will admit this has been some of the best work he's ever done.

All that being said, there was a really good 12-15 match contained within this just ok 35 minute match. When there is no crowd and a lot of dead space to fill, less is more. Now if you take this exact same match, put it in a stadium setting with people losing their shit for it, I guarantee it comes off better. As it was in this environment, it was too long.

  15. (1)I love your list, @The Natural and just want to add to 24. Antonio Cesaro vs. William Regal. NXT TV, 25th December 2013 ,  is the incredible interview Regal gives to hype the match where he basically admits he's fucked. Cesaro is too good, Regal has too many miles on him and he knows how this is about to go. But because Regal is a FUCKING MAN, he's still going to walk straight into battle and even if he goes down, he's still going to go out a god damn warrior. One of my favorite things Regal ever did and I wish we could have seen more of him wrestling in NXT.

(2)Those DIY vs Revival tag team matches are just modern tag team perfection and I can only hope Revival find a way to hit those highs again wherever they go.

(3)While my brain knows the Sasha/Bayley 30 minute match is technically the better match, the shameless Bayley mark in me will always prefer the match where she won the belt for the sheer emotion where she finally won the big one. Such a fucking amazing match and I know Sasha and Bayley both are chasing the dragon of trying to repeat this feud, but I don't think it can be done.

(4)Shield vs Wyatts at Elimination Chamber would be my personal #1 but there is nothing wrong with your list. Just beautiful chaos from start to finish and one of the great simple builds to a match that I've ever seen. Tremendous work by all six.

Were this a DVD, I would so throw all the money at you, Mr. Natural. Great list.

The Kross/Scarlett tease at the end of the show was interesting as pairing them together is the BEST possible use of her, though them as babyfaces going against the Garganos is whatever.

So, as someone who has never seen Scarlett and has only seen Kross as The White Rabbit in Lucha Underground(that was him, right?) can anybody recommend some "Good shit" of theirs to check out?

  17. The Sons would have more potential if somebody involved could talk and explain what exactly the gimmick is, what they stand for and such. I have really vague memories of them doing one vignette on NXT time but i'll be damned if I could tell you one thing they said. Cutler and Blake work well together, and Ryker is...there, but put about ten minutes of thought into them and they could be a decent way to kill some time since WE MUST BE LIVE EVERY WEEK, PAL
