  1. So, I realize full good and well that I'm one of maybe three people that cares about the answer to this question, but do we know what happened to Bray Wyatt? He showed up at house shows, put stuff out on Twitter machine about being a new man, and then apparently entered the phantom zone? Powers that be just stop pretending to even give a shit about him?
  2. Jesus Christ I love all things about this match and the buildup to it. The standoff with the two groups just inching their way towards the ring is still one of the most badass things wrestling has produced in past five years. It's CRIMINAL that there never really was a follow up to this match
  3. I think a large part of what makes Joe at least worthy of being part of the discussion for a title match is his believability. His win/loss record is less then stellar, and that's being generous. But I'll be damned if everytime his music hits, the first thought in my mind is still, "Joe's going to fuck that guy up!" He's not as good as he was ten years ago, but I believe every single word that comes out of his mouth and I am willing to pay money to see him fight. I could totally get behind a title vs career feud with Hardy, feels like that whole story has legs left in it. I could even buy a babyface run where he calls Bryan on his bullshit. Legitimacy goes a long way in this game, at least to me. Let's be really, really honest. There really aren't a lot of title match options that scream THIS IS A MUST WATCH on either program. And that's really alarming for WrestleMania season.
  4. I think the whole issue with "Wrestler X deserves a spot on the card" needs to be rethought. I want all these men and women to get all the money they deserve and then some. But WrestleMania is not a participation award. This is supposed to be the ultimate card. The "showcase of the immortals". Only the best of the best are here. Hell, half the buildup to the show these days is basically "I want to have my wrestlemania moment". Regular run of the mill ppvs are too god damn long. At the rate they are going, Mania will be about 12 hours long and as much as I love wrestling, IT'S TOO MUCH. Shoehorning people into matches just to get them on the show only hurts both the wrestler and the product in the long run. For example, if there is a storyline reason that makes sense and can coherently fit Charlotte into the title match with Ronda and Becky, then by all means do it. If you put her in the match just to put her in the match then what the hell is even the point? If in kayfabe and real life these people are fighting to have their moment, some people just are going to have to miss it and not have one.
  5. Its not the greatest scene, but the clip that shows up just after this one(which is fucking incredible)where Bruce is at his parents grave, wanting permission to stop being Batman, to be able to live a normal life kills me every time. When he sinks down and says that he didn't count on being happy.....damnit, there's some dust in the room right now.
  6. That was pretty much word for word what he said. And yet more proof that Samoa Joe>all of us
  7. In a perfect world Sasha and Bayley walk out of WrestleMania as the tag team champions. My personal preference would be them dethroning the Riot Squad(let's pretend they win at Elimination Chamber)at Mania to stand triumphant. A legends match sounds good in theory but I'm just so tired across the board of people from the past coming out of the woodwork for Mania. I want to see how good today's stars can be. I want them to have moments to shine. I know that's asking a great deal of the current creative team. But I have the network. If I want to watch Trish or Lita Ill go there. Give me something new
  8. "Pretend this is an AA meeting and keep your mouth shut while I'm sharing with the group." Joe is a SAVAGE
  9. As far as the quality of the match goes, Charlotte vs Becky vs Ronda would be ridiculously great. But after how hot the crowd has been for Becky to have her moment, I don't know how Charlotte doesn't come off like a 3rd wheel. And that's nothing against Charlotte. She's awesome and deserves a prominent spot at Mania. I'm not a big fan of a champion challenges her competition story, but you could do worse then Asuka calling out Charlotte wanting to avenge last year's WrestleMania and generally being pissed off that everyone is talking about fighting Ronda when she's right there waiting to kick someone's ass.
  10. Fassbender would be a better Harvey Dent, in my fantasy booking. Karl Urban as Batman=all the monies!
  11. Drifter i can understand more, since him turning face went absolutely nowhere. Plus, you can always heat him back up doing the exact same schtick that got him over to begin with. Rusev, im right there with you. Crowds have been dying to be given a reason to really rally behind him, and he probably would have been killed off already if he wasn't good at making even the dumbest of things work. Whole thing just feels like a "fuck you, that's why" to the fans
  12. Itami should have been so much bigger then he was, but injury after injury deep sixed that poor bastard. While he looked good at the rumble, if there was ever a textbook example of a guy on auto pilot, it would be him. Hopefully he can regain some traction in Japan because the guy still can go. Best of luck to him. And speaking of autopilot, Dean Ambrose. Who the hell can blame this man for being mentally checked out and just done? Anything and everything after the initial heel turn has been DEATH. I don't know if anyone could have made that work. On top of the grueling schedule he was on before nearly dying, I'm sure he's done with all this. He strikes me as a guy who loves the performing aspect of wrestling, the interviews, the matches, but not the extra stuff that comes with it. I personally would love to see him in AEW but I can see him just making indy appearances as he sees fit
  13. Oh...oh, that Ronda interview. When you need Bayley(who I am a shameless mark for despite the fact she is...not good at the promos)needs to save you from dying on the vine things are not good. Whoever is writing her interviews, even if she's the one doing it, need to stop. Her strong point is not the "I am a fighting champion who wants to bring honor to this belt". Her strength lies in the kind of fire and rage she showed against Becky. That being said, it does fit the way she's been presented that she struggles with the honorable champion interviews. It's like she(as a character)thinks that this is how a wrestler is supposed to talk and act, and that she as an outsider needs to be showing respect and being humble because she doesn't want to come across as thinking she's better then the rest. But, this is not a rational human being with and her natural reaction to adversity is to want to kill things with her bare hands. The real money in Ronda is as a complete asshole heel who isn't playing nice anymore. Uberbitch Ronda vs Ubernice Bayley would have been my ideal for summerslam, but who knows how that will go
  14. The show wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. I think if you were to go back and watch any one of the matches in isolation it would be much more enjoyable. Head scratching moments aside(I mean seriously, Dolph eliminates Drew in a throwaway spot? Why?) both rumbles were very good. But when even your announcers are point out on the air that JESUS CHRIST THIS SHOW IS STILL GOING ON you know it's time to go home
  15. Besides this, the whole thing just felt so awkward and out of place. McAfee seemed ready to move on to the next point but Sideshow Bob seems to lose his train of thought, then just went full speed ahead with his rant. It wouldn't have sounded so strange on his podcast maybe, but it just seemed so bitter and random for no reason.
  16. PLEASE DO NOT RUIN A GOOD THING BY SPLITTING THESE GUYS UP. This is the same bullshit that got us Dean Ambrose getting shots in the ass and wearing a gasmask. The Undisputed Era is great together. For fuck's sake, keep that main roster bullshit away from my NXT and keep the awesome group of asshole heels together
  17. I know that Cody has said AEW doesn't want to hire writers, but can they please change that stance just once and hire BEN! because I need all of the above post to happen
  18. Oh, that's a good point! He's not only champion of the planet, he is champion of the cows! This is just tremendous on all levels.
  19. I loved Riddle vs Ohno, just because it felt like a damn FIGHT. Kassius did a little too much to cater towards the foot fetish crowd, but it still was in the context of "I hate this son of a bitch and I want to hurt him". Bianca really did make a star out of herself tonight. Powering out of the choke and refusing to say die, fighting off Jessamyn and Mrs. Strong, plus she CUT SHAYNA WITH HER HAIR. I'd be down for a rematch. Ciampa vs Black was about two finishes too many but it was still a quality match. I'm always a sucker for the "heel works over the babyface's leg" story in a match. The look on Ciampa's face was priceless when Gargano came out to pose with him at the end. He thinks he's won and Johnny is fully on the dark side of the force. But...is he?(cue ominous music) War Raiders and Undisputed Era got the party started right. The Era are so good at getting these shows started off on a high note being the smug douchebags you just want to see get punched in the face over and over again
  20. is....is the rock going to literally explode in this movie?
  21. The Brain's delivery on those bolded lines kills me every single time I watch this show, even all these years later. He's so happy Roddy is helping and sounds so genuine when he says it's a kilt, and almost in the same breath is seething with rage when Piper(of course)turns on Flair. Its just one of so many amazing lines from Bobby in one of the greatest commentary performances ever
  22. So in that interview from the Royal Rumble superstore, Daniel Bryan (1)names the individual cows that died to make AJ Styles vests (2)rips apart a stuffed bear because its stupid and (3)threatens to slap anyone who buys his merchandise. Daniel Bryan wins the internet today, ladies and gentlemen
  23. I had completely forgotten about the Itami match but that was another one they just tossed all talking of pulling punches out the window and swung for the fences. Lorcan really has quietly become a undercard highlight on NXT, right there with Burch. Honestly I don't want them to go, but if they were to go to 205 live I wouldn't say no to either of them tearing shit up with Murphy
  24. I can't like this enough. Give me Vader potatoing sting like its going out of style, while sting just won't stay down and takes it right back to this fat evil monster ALL DAY
