  1. I've read collected articles and I have exactly 1 issue somewhere buried in a box.
  2. Soooooo many magazines from back in the day. Aside from the three already mentioned: Video Watchdog, Cult Movies, Asian Cult Cinema, Film Threat, Oriental Cinema, She, Baddazz Mofo, Outre, Scarlet Street, Neon, Videoscope.... that's not even getting into any of the more "serious" stuff like Film Comment or CineAction. It's no wonder I'm poor today.
  3. I don't know if it was by design or oversight but you didn't mention the creepiest Woman in Black appearance in your review. Glad you enjoyed the film. I've never seen the 2012 version because I never felt like it could improve upon '89.
  4. As far as the last sentiment of that tweet: Hey, sports betting is a sucker's game. Assuming "millions" actually bet on him, don't feel sorry for any of them. Do feel bad for Yan and Katlyn. They were both robbed. * I guess I shouldn't feel bad for Katlyn since she missed weight. I still think she clearly won two rounds. But live by point fighting, die by point fighting.
  5. I would joke that it is better than the film you picked but that would be an obvious lie. I agree that it would make a great Saturday matinee watch though instead of pairing it with Billy the Kid Versus Dracula, I'd go for the contrast of a Godzilla film.
  6. He certainly had the sweaty upper-lip thing down.
  7. I already have a couple of bonuses and an extra that I picked up that I am working on now. I tried to make it clear that I viewed it as luck of the draw, so I'm not in any way offended. Frankly, I was pretty sure it was your pick and you're OK in my book. ? I just am not into cannibal films or any films that strike me as gore for gore's sake. And like I posted a few minutes ago, I'm a hypocrite. Having said all that, I'll take any film you got. Just won't promise you a positive review.
  8. Quoting myself from 2016: Obviously I'm a hypocrite.
  9. Despite some good work from Grasso in the last 1:30, I think the 4th is Araujo's, the 3rd was tight as a drum and I have the first two for Grasso.
  10. Martinez is really good but still disappointing to see Cub get handled that easily by someone at Martinez's level. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
  11. Interesting but Did she ever appear in a Hitchcock film? I'm blanking on it if she did.
  12. Honestly, she is the tipping point for this over the 1940 version.
  13. I guess that depends on what they are using for source material.
  14. Just as well. That guy can't act for shit. John Wick is pretty much the only role he is perfect for.
  15. I'm right in the middle of the 2nd season of the Cocaine & Rhinestones podcast. Most of the season is devoted to George Jones. Will be interesting to see how much of that stuff turns up in this show. This looks as well cast as it could possibly be.
  16. https://www.cracked.com/article_31732_the-real-life-gay-inspiration-behind-scooby-doos-velma.html I wasn't aware of the Dobie Gillis connection* because it wasn't one of those shows to hit syndication in my area. Makes perfect sense though. I presume Velma was strictly intended to be Daphne's opposite and it morphed from kid's saying that she was weird to she's a lesbian and the gay community embraced it because why not? She's the brains of the outfit. And I'm assuming you are aware that the Fred thing is a thing. It just doesn't have the legs that the Velma theory....now fact, I guess...has had all of these years. *Though I guess I could have just read it on Wikipedia.
