  1. Everyone can't be prime Mark Hunt. Duffee got hurt early on and recovered, but yeah, only a select few would've still had their facilties after left straight. And again, his momentum was heading straight into that punch. He helped knock himself out.
  2. I dunno...he went headlong into a punch that would've knocked a lot of fighters out. He took the first round of punches pretty well and then went into stupid mode, which was his downfall.

  4. I follow it enough to know who the champs are and whatnot. However, I am not watching something without any type of implications that happens between 5 am and 11 am my time. If it is something I want to see, I will watch it during the week like the random boxing matches I missed. By the time I wake up and start my day though, there are already GIFs, Vines, and other stuff that pretty much negates watching their content. So it would have to be something amazing for me to take my time and search the further reaches of the internet to find it.
  5. Honestly, I think he was a bit out of it. His legs didn't get back under him until the last 30-35 seconds of the third round. By then, it wasn't going to make a difference.
  6. Todd Duffee tried to the Diaz backhand and then stepped into a left hand missile. SMDH
  7. Not sure how much of a commodity Thomson is after getting sliced and diced by Tony Ferguson.
  8. Mike Bohn ‏@MikeBohnMMA 8s UFC just confirmed Demetrious Johnson-John Dodson 2 for UFC 191 main event. Johnson-Blachowicz, VanZant-Chambers & Rivera-Lineker also added FWIW Rivera vs. Lineker is on the FS1 portion
  9. But to say he didn't do it at all is a stretch, which is what the headlines are sensationalizing. I don't if it is a stretch really, but what people write is something else. Not doing wrestling doing sparring is a detriment to your training especially when you're fighting a wrestler on such short nortice.
  10. Dana and Lorenzo (along with Mike Tyson) were in LA for Ronda's workout this morning. However, people are kinda assuming they are meeting with Steve Bash, the attorney who represents both Ronda and Fedor. Listening to Cheap Seats on Sirius, that's what Greg Savage pretty much said and confirmed. We will see what happens.
  11. Yeah, I don't see the logic behind that either. I get that he is probably pissed for being used as a barometer for prospects like Durinho and El Cucui. The Reebok pay structure probably isn't helping that. However, I think he is overestimating his market value. You got to win the bounce back fights before they give you bigger fights. Plus, it's not like they're matching him with guys coming off a loss anyway. He is the one coming off losses, and they're not. Once you get past Chandler and Brooks (sounds like a bad country duo), there is a precipitous drop off in Bellator in terms of name recognition. How many people are going to tune into Josh Thomson vs. the OTHER Pitbull brother? I would say about 500k-675k, which is probably 100k-200k less people than who are going to see him on this card. So why not win and be able to have more "big" fights?
  12. You'll remember that SFL pulled that early on with the Sri Lankans, but that was when they also had foreign talent as well. Then, they just fell off the map after a handful of shows before using all domestic talent. So I believe the business model for One FC is "if you're a foreigner, don't train in Asia, and cannot headline our shows, we have no place for you". I see that they just released James McSweeney, who was having a mini career turnaround with them. He called them out for not giving him fights on Facebook, and then they released him. It makes me wonder how long can the other guys like Bibiano, Adriano Moraes, and Askren stay with them before they end up without a job.
  13. Well, he is a Zinkin fighter who isn't exactly happy. He wants to fight bigger names and wasn't too excited about taking this fight with Ferguson.
  14. Yeah, I was worried we wouldn't get this all important press release because of that. I think we can rest easy now.
  15. caposa ‏@GrabakaHitman 4m via TSGIGOR on @theUG "Fedor retired from the Ministry of Sports and began intensively preparing today. Negotiations include UFC & Bellator" The possible list of guys who would be willing to fight Fedor in Bellator IMO would be: Cheick Kongo Alexander Volkov (lost to Kongo and the guy below...so yeah) Vitaly Minakov (hasn't fought in Bellator or been mentioned on a broadcast in several months DESPITE being their HW champ) Tito Ortiz (is going to get mashed by Liam McGeary on the SJ show 2 months from now if he doesn't pull out the fight) I seriously doubt Kimbo takes that fight and doubt Lashley does. Lashley might be swayed with some money, but he already turned down that fight before. The funny thing is that the roadblock to the biggest fights for Bellator is on the Bellator side. At least Strikeforce had a decent array of heavyweights and LHWs that could fight at HW. The Bellator heavyweight division is just....brutal. So if he decides to sign there, you can look forward to seeing Fedor vs. Chase Gormley one day.
  16. Looks like Mayweather vs. Berto on 9/12 on CBS. Mayweather has already started his training camp.
  17. Also, before anyone goes that route, Randy Couture still has one fight left on his UFC deal. In addition, Couture has been on the outs with the UFC since he did Fight Master. It ain't happening.
  18. Something tells me Icey Mike won't accept that fight.
  19. "Hey Fedor....this is Scott Coker of Bellator....Bellator MMA....Viacom's Bellator MMA....we met at the show in Connecticut. You remember? ....Ring a bell? ......Before that, Strikeforce?....You there, champ?...(humming)......Anyway, you call me back at 408-51 *beep*"
  20. I agree with the last two posts, but I have to say Chappie has to be one of the worst movies I've seen. Just from a cohesion and logic standpoint, I don't think anything made sense. I went in with low expectations and was just blown away that this movie was so terrible. Are studios not watching what Blomkamp is putting out or are they just too confident that District 9 wasn't a fluke? Before he starts work on the Alien movie, someone needs to have a come-to-Jesus meeting with him before they end up with one of the biggest flops ever.
  21. I think you're right about Batman but I meant Joker. I would think Joker is all over this but we'll see. Oh yeah, this one is going to be littered with the Joker. BvS is going to set him up to appear in Suicide Squad four months later.
  22. Unless it's a stuntman (which it possible since people thought the guy in the suit was Ben), then I doubt he will be in more than two or three scenes. Affleck was in Toronto for like four or five days at most before he went back to LA. Then Kevin Smith said he saw him in LA with a beard, which he was rocking at SDCC two or so months later. He could show up in one scene early on and then magically reappear in one scene at the end.
  23. Jeremy Botter ‏@jeremybotter 6m I’ve heard this is Josh Thomson’s last fight in the UFC, win or lose. Will be interesting.
  24. Here is Meltzer's article on the return: http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/7/14/8965293/fedor-says-he-is-interested-in-returning-to-mma
