  1. And since they announced their time change, I’ll add that 880 Wrestling is kicking off the day at the Ukie Club, running from 4-6pm (ignore that the flyer below says 11pm, there’s some noise ordinances that were discovered after the event was booked). So to recap, at the Ukie Club on April 4: 880 Wrestling - 4-6pm Grand Slam Wrestling - 6-8pm Smash Master Wrasslin’/BYO Wrestling - 8-10pm This is an outdoor event!
  2. More Mania week stuff, this time at the Ukie Club on Franklin Street. The promotions are local to NEPA, but from 6-8pm on 4/4 Grand Slam Wrestling is running an event, and from 8-10 Smash Master Wrasslin’ and BYO Wrestling are teaming up to run an event, featuring the below: Here’s the GSW info, too, just pretend it says 6-8 instead of 7-9
  3. This right here. If one wrestler really hates another, there’s no reason for them to wait 10-12 minutes to charge the ring to mess with them or attack them. Does it suck for the guy that’s not involved in the angle that is getting their match cut short due to the run-in? Sure, but they’re also getting the same payday for less bumps so it can’t be that bad.
  4. A friend of mine texted me about The Chisel a couple weeks ago and about 30 seconds into the first song I listened to I said “oh, they’re like The Business, ok.”
  5. Coming to Mania week in Philly, a two-day Labor of Love/Sean Henderson Presents event at Attic Brewing. Wednesday 4/3 and Thursday 4/4, including: And much more!
  6. I had that immediate thought as well! When the main got going it turned into quite the spectacle. Exceeded expectations for sure.
  7. If you think the fan reaction is bad now, wait until Cody beats Rollins and then Priest immediately cashes in and wins the belt.
  8. Forget Edge going after Christian again - let’s just have weird novelty Edge matches for the rest of his run. He can work Vikingo one week, then Danhausen, then they can bring back Marko Stunt for a week. Get ridiculous with it.
  9. Could you imagine Punk’s reaction if after all this, he still didn’t get to main event Mania because of Rock?
  10. I just said the same to some friends, thinking they can then pivot to Chaos/Callis Family for a bit. International Champ Takeshita or Hobbs? Sign me up.
  11. I really think the devil is Roddy at this point. He constantly tries to convince people that it’s MJF, and the devil didn’t make a single appearance during the time that they were doing the wacky skits at his house if I’m remembering correctly.
  12. I can’t wait for Sammy to come back and be like “just kidding, we love each other lol” and win the belts with Jericho.
  13. I’m guessing the beer bottle is supposed to make people think that Hangman is the devil now. But at the same time, MJF not getting attacked on camera adds to Roddy’s theory that it’s MJF, because it can be said that he wasn’t actually attacked, he just laid down and faked it. Speaking of Roddy, he finally had his Grandpa Joe moment tonight.
  14. I will accept nothing less than Punk as the devil and the Elite as his ninja henchmen, just to watch the world burn. Adam Cole would be alright in the spot too, I guess.
  15. As ridiculous as this sounds, part of me wonders if they’re worried about saying it incorrectly since some people say “Wilkes-Barry”, others “Wilkes-Bear” and others still “Wilkes-Bar”. Even when they showed the Eagles belt, they said they were in Pennsylvania (which I don’t think they had said until then) but never said where.
  16. This was a pretty decent show. Friends that went said the crowd was hot all night, and I’d hope they would be getting a random Sami/Rollins match. It’s always funny that they refuse to say they’re in Wilkes-Barre, only saying the arena name as the location instead.
  17. I think I botched the post and didn’t make it clear - I meant they ran it back with Mark Briscoe, not Kip. Either way, the whole thing was unnecessary. And if their justification for it was to have Keith Lee there to hear what Joe said and make the match for Wednesday, I counter that thought with “it’s Joe vs Keith Lee, it needs no justification”.
  18. I don’t get why Kip needed the Workhorsemen when he’s already in an established trio with Butcher and Blade. Also, running a “hey babyface, find two partners!” angle literally three days after their top babyface had to do it is just lazy writing. I don’t think the live crowd could have cared less about Preston Vance if they actively tried to.
  19. They did tell that story! It’s funny every time you hear it. And yeah, CZW was one of those places where he got to work forever because of his license. Even ROH had to for a while - I’ll always remember going to the MX Reunion preshow because a local guy was in Punk’s training class and that was their debut, and seeing Rebel work on that same preshow. He certainly wasn’t out of place at all. Not even a little.
  20. I remember him coming through Samu’s WXW being billed from Panama City, so I’d imagine he’s always had that as his hometown.
  21. I must have been on dozens of shows where that was the case. That was also very well known but he played up the ECW original stuff too. He’d use both as an excuse to do whatever he wanted on shows (which mostly included telling children he fucked their moms and taking tons of liberties with green kids).
  22. The latest Crime in Sports is about the Rockin’ Rebel murder/suicide. It lingers a little bit too long on his match history, but it was nice to hear people that presumably have no connection to him just tear him apart for being a nobody (and for the murder/suicide of course) after he held his “ECW original” status over so many people’s heads for so long in PA.
  23. Just once I’d love to see an official call a meeting with the “scheduled” main event and tell them that their match was bumped off the card due to more pressing matters, or for an undercard guy to challenge another to settle their differences at Wrestlemania only to be told “sorry guys, the card is full”. There’s so many different stories they can tell from that kind of writing, but obviously they’ll never do it.
  24. This is a big sticking point for me because it made Sammy look like a huge idiot - he was facing Jericho on the top rope and while they shot it in a way that you didn’t see it on TV, there’s no way he didn’t know Jericho was already standing before he jumped. On a completely different note, as a Mets fan all the Mike Piazza references (the 31 on the shirt and MJF’s elbow pad) were awesome.
  25. I hate to go back to Rick Ta Life after he hasn’t been mentioned for a while but when my friends’ band played their first show in like 2005ish, 25 Ta Life was also on the show and Rick told them they were just as good as when he saw them at CBGB’s in the 80s. Also, there’s always this gem: http://www.ricktalifeonahorse.com/ Scene-wise, NEPA had a good one for a long time. Lots of good punk and hardcore stuff came out of here, like Wisdom in Chains and Strength for a Reason who are both still going today.
