  1. 1. Harley Race

    2. Ric Flair

    3. Randy Orton

This is of course assuming that alcohol has any effect on Race.

For a $5000 appearance fee and an open bar, I'm sure Flair would be down right now.

Who would be the wrestling equivalent of Roger Sterling? 'Cause that's the guy I want to go on a bender with.

  2. So Cesaro is now the strongest man in WWE?

But Mark Henry is still the strongest man in the WORLD but somehow not the strongest in WWE?

So logic doesn't exist in WWE?

They've been calling Cesaro that for years with the qualifier that he's the strongest man "pound for pound." Implying he has the strength of a much larger man, not that he's straight up stronger than Henry and his ilk.

  3. Watched Living Dangerously 2000 through the end of the first match. Sinister Minister refers to Raven's "gimmick." Corino talks about something being more than an "angle." Slut shaming. Sandman no-selling a piledriver. Violence against women. The finish to the opener was blown because Dusty and the referee don't know how to use tape.

    Not sure what I expected.

  4. Went to the Calgary house show last night. Reigns vs Wyatt street fight, Rollins vs Ambrose, Jericho vs Owens, Cesaro vs Harper, and a red-hot match between New Day (Big E and Xavier sans Kofi) and the PTPs. Also had Bo being Bo and huge hometown support for Nattie. It's difficult to rank these things, but definitely one of the better shows I've attended.

Compared to the paper-thin Huntsville show from last night, I'd say I really lucked out.

    Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev

Neville defeated Adam Rose with Red Arrow

Jimmy Uso defeated Heath Slater in a dance off. Uso superkicked him and Slater complained, demanding another match. Uso defeated him again but Slater wanted another match.

Mark Henry came out and defeated Slater.

Ryback retained the Intercontinental Championship over Big Show

Becky Lynch and Charlotte defeated Sasha Banks and Tamina Snuka

    * The Dudley Boyz defeated Los Matadores and The Lucha Dragons in a Triple Threat. El Torito ran down during the match and attacked Matadores

Randy Orton defeated Sheamus with a RKO. Orton got the biggest pop of the night

  5. Seth isn't a bad promo. He just doesn't need ten minutes plus two backstage segments every damn week.

And how did you fuckers miss Brick Shithouse? A whole week and you missed what I've actually been calling him since minute one?

  6. For Roman, I'd love to hear thoughts on the Extreme Rules match against Big Show, the Battleground match against Wyatt, and the SummerSlam match against Orton. I loved the first, was surprised by how much I enjoyed the second, and found the third surprisingly solid on rewatch.

Rollins has a couple good SmackDown matches with Cesaro under his belt. I know, I'm shocked too. The dates escape me. I remember the table match with Cena being absurdly fun at the time and destroying my always meager expectations regarding singles table matches, but it wasn't really representative of anything.

Ambrose is one of my favourites at the moment (second maybe only to Owens), but nothing you've said in criticism of him rings untrue. I loved the Big Show match from Raw a few weeks back. It was different. Maybe his MITB qualifier against Wyatt from last year is still good. I dunno.

Roman has easily turned out to be the best of the bunch IMO. Of course a heel turn now probably gets him where they want him to be in the long run.

  7. When exactly was Paul Heyman the head writer on SmackDown? All the way through the end of 2004?

    Two thoughts:

-At the time, I assumed things would be so much better for Van Dam once they got him away from the old timers on Raw. Not so much. How did that happen?

-Has anyone in WWE booked Big Show better than Heyman did? Between SmackDown from 2002 to 2004 to his ECW run in 2006, how has everyone else done such an impressive job making a once-in-a-lifetime talent feel like just another guy?

  8.

Speaking of retirements that flew under my radar, have we heard anything on Christian since Rollins verbally put him out to pasture earlier this year on Raw? I have to assume Austin will bring it up and clarify the issue.

Pretty sure they mentioned him retiring due to concussions on screen.

I'll probably have to settle for this. With Edge in the room, will anybody notice Christian sitting there?

  9. My understanding is he was going to take his time and recover as much as possible rather than rushing back like some others would. Didn't hear that a return was completely off the table. Could be wrong though.

TAKER! MICHAELS! MANIA! JIZZ! JIZZ! JIZZ!!!

    Just this...

No reason other than, as a media professional, I enjoy the wording here...it's art.

I feel like there's too much punctuation. I'd have done gone with "Jizzjizzjizz!" delivered like Abed Nadir.

Because this is a company that it's whole problem isn't that they suspended him. The problem is that they hired him and many other people that they knew have done shitty things or shitty people in general and didn't care.

TNA doesn't deserve your praise. Remember. They hired him...and Jeff Hardy...and Ken Amderson...and Matt Hardy...and...

I'm trying to remember what Anderson's problems were aside from being a shitty worker and lacking media savvy.

On the other hand, the WWE continues to tolerate the likes of Randy Orton, Jack Swagger, Alex Riley, Cameron, Rosa, and they're still in the Steve Austin business. LOLWWE?

Said some dumb things after Benoit. Busted with Steroids. Said some dumb things about beings busted with Steroids.

WWE has issues itself. What did Cameron and Rosa do? I remember Rosa's fiance was cheating on her.

I was counting the bulk of that Anderson stuff when I was referring to his lack of media savvy. John Cena he is not.

I had Cameron pegged for drunk driving. I feel like there was a story a while back about a drunk Rosa passed out in an airport bathroom, but Google suggests I was mistaken on that one. Carry on as though I hadn't thrown her under the bus.

All things considered, I'm happy LOLWWE is a thing. The world would be a worse place if we didn't get have those half a dozen times a year where Randy Orton cuts loose on TV and does something stupid/awesome.
