So why was Scott Dawson hanging out with the producers and giving feedback during Tino's match?
Because I approve.
*Edit* I'll read the thread/quit drinking next time. Advanced class sounds about right. Didn't they have Bailey producing a match on one of these?
And yeah. I love (like, love) Dawson. But he's not going to catch on if/when he makes it to the show. Future coach or indy darling.

WWE.com currently features one of their always classy "Divas being sexy in Christmas-themed outfits" galleries. Don't click the spoiler if you're uncomfortable with seeing a woman as an object.

So, Box Office Mojo updated Star Wars' domestic number to $247 million, which puts its Worldwide to $529, beating Jurassic World by $3 million without China.
Avatar, we comin' for you!

I have no idea who Plagueis is. So you guys will need to answer those questions me.
How about the fact that Snoke looks nothing like Plagueis and the fact that Plagueis is dead? Plagueis was a Muun. Why would he disguise himself to look like Snoke for Kylo Ren and the First Order?
So just like Cumberbatch in Into Darkness.
I'm pretty sure that rumor is effectively debunked at this point. They already said Snoke is a new character. Also, my favorite current rumor: Smoke is Darth Plagieus or however it's spelled.
Sure, it would lean way more on the prequels than they did in this film (only obvious prequel reference I caught was Ren's throwaway line about using cloned Stormtroopers) but it would be an interesting move.

The X-Wings weren't able to do damage without the sabotage by Han, Chewie, Ray, and Finn.
Man, this Abrams guy sure loves sabotage.

it would be interesting to see if NXT workers get 401K, healthcare, etc. in lieu of cuts of live gates, merch, etc. that the main roster gets while not reciving the 'normal' job benefits.
I like to think Vince taught Hunter better than that.

In all fairness, I think Ren got put over pretty strong. Stopping Poe's shot at the beginning got a audible "oh shit" level reaction from my theater. And it took Chewy-induced injuries and a fight with Finn to get Ren worn down enough that Rey could put him on his ass. And I still don't consider that a decisive victory for Rey. The planet split apart before Ren and Rey could settle it.
Then you have Stormtroopers scurrying away from Ren's volatile temper tantrums and that "I killed Han Solo" heat. They put him over pretty strong, IMO. Dude's going to be a monster when his training is complete.

FWIW, it looks like the honeymoon with critics is already over. Peter Rosenthal of the Onion's Film Standard has weighed in saying JJ failed it recapture the magic of A New Hope.

If the lightsaber survived Cloud City, Luke's hand probably did as well. Maz likely has it stored in a jar like the tenth Doctor's hand so that its connection to the force can be used on a rainy day.
I expect Luke to be on death's doorstep at the end of VIII. Cliffhanger. IX will open with jar-hand-related technobabble.
This stuff writes itself.

Given the whole deal about the lightsaber being the Skywalker family lightsaber (rather than Luke's green one) I don't see any way she isn't Luke's daughter.
Casual fan. Not an expert. Didn't bother with a rewatch during the wait for VII. So I honestly need to ask: Has it been established that family ties are the best way to transfer lightsaber ownership from one person to another? Do lightsabers recognize themselves as having an owner like the wands in Harry Potter? Because I remember none of that. I always saw them as silly laser swords wielded most competently by people with a strong connection to the force, thus explaining Finn's comparative lackluster performance against Ren and that Stormtrooper. When Obi-Wan gave Luke the lightsaber in A New Hope, was it implied that it would be especially powerful in Luke's hands because of its connection to Darth? Or was that simply meant to give it sentimental value?
Help a brother out.

How strong is Kylo Ren in the force? He stopped a blaster bolt in mid air and just held it there while he walked around and had conversations and shit, but he also almost died in a lightsaber fight with someone who seemingly doesn't have any force sensitivity and someone who just figured out she is force sensitive.
Rey's a quick learner who'd already shown she has an innate level of force-ishness (shut up) capable of countering Ren's own level of foce-ishness (shut up) and training during the attempted mind-reading. Also, wasn't Ren stumbling around at the time with a Chewy-induced leaky gut?
-
FWIW, I'll be happy as a pig in shit if Rey doesn't turn out to be the daughter of anyone of significance. The daughter of Luke stumbling upon BB8 is one stretch of credulity too far.
Still loved it though.

A handful of people in my theater giggled when Adam Driver took off his mask. I had a feeling it would happen, and I couldn't have been happier.
"Oh my gerd, dad. I'm a sith lord. This isn't a phase. This is who I am now!"

1. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania)
2. Bayley vs Sasha Banks (TakeOver: Brooklyn)
3. John Cena vs Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins (Royal Rumble)
4. Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch (TakeOver: Unstoppable)
My top four was easy and is pretty much set in stone. From there, I've got no shortage of stuff to rewatch.
New Day will likely be on my top ten the list at some point. Their bouts with Cesaro/Kidd and the four way at SummerSlam will get another look.
I remember Reigns having scorchers at Fastlane, Extreme Rules, and Battleground. One of those is likely to make the cut.
Sasha's had other excellent work this year which necessitates a rewatch. Bayley's redemption story is also calling to me.
Rusev vs Cesaro vs Owens and Owens vs Ziggler vs Roman vs ADR were both better than they had any right to be.
I'm lukewarm on Workrate God John Cena, but his bouts with Cesaro and Owens will get another look from me.
Speaking of Owens, his match with Zayn at Rival is pretty much a lock to make my top ten the list. It's just a matter of how high. The matches with Balor were also quite good.
Might just be the fact that they're the hot new team, but I'm definitely feeling McUgly's pick of Jordan/Gable vs Rhyno/Corbin.
Pretty good year one you wade through the shit.

I had no idea Clint had an actor son. Bet that kid pulls so much tail...

Is this meant to counter his tail argument? Because sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Since everyone is so divided on the best match(es) of this show, I reckon I'll weigh in with my meaningless opinion.
Bayley vs Jax with the tag title bout at a close second. Beyond that, Corbin, Joe, and everyone in the opener was killer. I can see where the divide comes from.
I love Dawson. By process of elimination, I assume Dash is his partner?
-
Ambrose is one of my all-time favourites, but I'd be timid to get on the soapbox about him being all that good to begin with. I certainly don't think he's had a better match all year than Enzo had tonight. Closest Dean has come is that overwrought ladder match with Seth that went at least ten minutes too long and that Raw match against Big Show where he refused to die and ate a countout. Still love Dean though.
With certain call-ups obviously looming, I hesitate to guess where they go with the Dallas card. All I'll say is I need to see Sami vs Corbin at some point before the bell tolls for either.

Ass-based offense has never bothered me. I was hoping Asuka would pull a Naomi or a Mojo and use it as her finish.

Steph's promo opened the show this week.
Clearly it ain't broke!

All this talk of Steph getting her comeuppance is making me long for the glory days of Brie Mode.

I cannot wait for Geordie Miz
I really have been loving this storyline. In spite of his ring skills, Miz has a great personality. So they're doing a great job letting him be self-involved undercard sleaze who rarely wrestles. And putting Neville in Miz's orbit should do plenty to make him appealing to Raw viewers by virtue of comparison.
It's simple, fun stuff. And it's yet to devolve into 50/50 win trading. So I dig.
Though I'll take any bone they throw at Neville at this point. Great NXT run where he developed into a performer who's believable at the top as a face or a heel. Best NXT match ever, IMO, vs Zayn at R-Evolution. Possibly the TV match of the year against Rollins. I need to see this guy succeed more than anyone else floating aimlessly in the undercard.
-
Look at the way Roman is holding the belt.
See, Neville! Miz is the way to the top!

Gotta feed the Jew.
Brock's going to walk to Raw carrying Paul Heyman on one shoulder and a dead buffalo on the other.
Brock's in the Canadian prairies now. He's ours and I'll head nothing to the contrary.Raw is in Minneapolis next week, nice short trip for Brock....

I'm in pretty much the same place as you. I've seen bits and pieces here and there and tuned in tonight because they advertised Sami, but I've got no clue who the audience is. Honest-to-goodness "smart" marks shouldn't buy any of it. Do the sort of people who lap up Total Divas on E! even bother with the Network? I don't get it. Then again, outside of the archival stuff, the podcasts, and any first-run in-ring content, I don't really get any of the original Network programming.
Sucks you in for forty minutes. But it's not as though I'll be tuning in next week looking to see how Sasha and Bayley's big main event went, or becoming a regular viewer to keep myself abreast of the latest on Tino.
