  1. Seriously, get that Hoss mother fucker into something worth pushing.
  2. Friends who got screwed out of the biggest accomplishment of there career via a Low Blow asking a friend of 20 years if he can get next shot isn't a douchebag move. If he lost clean, sure. Not after losing via Low Blow.
  3. I think you have this super wrong here. It's pretty clear to me Scorpio asking his friend like a man for a chance to avenge his loss to an old friend, and those promos were pretty clearly "Yeah, we aren't getting the crowd behind Sammy, reset it so Scorpio is the face". Hell, that Page promo, a week after Sammy insulted his abilites as a father was justificiably fired up babyface stuff.
  4. Sammy feels like he’s Seth Rollins version 2: Uninteresting working heel, but a good working babyface who happens to be way too naturally unlikeable to really be a face, so he constantly feels off in whatever role he’s in. Dudes got talent, but he’s seemingly stuck in between roles and that’s not ideal. Bright side, Dalton Castle got on TV and got to be Dalton Castle. Castle/Avalon feud into eventually becoming a tag team when?
  5. He's literally had it run 1 show 2 weeks ago and is pretty clearly trying to get a TV deal. What exactly are you expecting him to have done already?
  6. Anthony Bowens weird airplan spin was actually an old Claudio spot back in the day. Interesting to see it return.
  7. My main note from watching this show is in one world: Joy. This was a show that brought joy to me, but I also 100% feel it brought joy to the people running the show, and wrestling on the show, and that comes across so clear as day, and that is what makes this company so fun to watch. Take a look at Sting, who I honestly think absolutely loves his job right now. He's a 62 year old man who I think loves wrestling more now then he did when he was in his athletic prime. Punk was done with wrestling for almost a decade, and you can tell how much he loved this entire thing today. There is so much love of the craft when you are watching this company do it's thing, and god bless it.
  8. I think the main note about the RoH purchase is “Tony Khan is a wrestling nerd who first and foremost wanted to make sure that footage would be some place safe and accessible and not locked in the WWE vault with them having no idea what to do with it” As stated, that’s a DVDVR dude who was a tape trader. Dude did a podcast with Schneider last year about Ted DiBiase vs. Ric Flair in Mid South. He cares about shit like that. Past that, I’m of the opinion the best use of RoH is making it AEW’s “NXT”, but with a more free flowing form on the indies. Bring in workers you like, get them on dates to try to influence growth, sign the ones you really like up to develop, move onto main roster. Move some established vets to RoH to help the growth process, and to actually book the promotion, and from there. Dustin Rhodes, Christian Cage, FTR, and Daniels working as player coaches for young talent in the way up feels like a great fit to me honestly.
  9. IWTV already has the right for CHIKARA, as well as IWA-MA and CZW, which were the other major players. PWG is very unlikely to sell, unless TK goes absolutely crazy with an offer. Shimmers library might be gettable, not sure the offer Prazak would want.
  10. Side note: how high does Punk rank on the “best bleeders in wrestling history” discussion. Every fucking blade job looks like he’s bleeding out.
  11. I would imagine they would at least try to bring in Gresham and the Briscoes. Really, it’s a name brand they can use as there NXT, and also you get the tape library to go with it.
  12. Claudio is one my favorite guys of the last 20 years, and I’d kill to see the best base in US wrestling this century work with Dante Martin.
  13. This is the most hyped up for a trailer I've been for a movie I have absolutely zero expectations of being good. Legitimately great trailer for a movie series that hasn't produced a good film in 29 years.
  14. I will say this weeks Dark felt like the most complete show I’ve seen them do for YouTube in a while. Thought good Penta was out for Wheeler who remains game, even if never a guy in that Garcia/Moriarty club of having more upside. 8 man tag was super fun, even if I did wish they would do more with everyone involved at this point. Main event was a good match, but that isn’t surprising with who was involved. I do find it funny for a guy with so much experience that Solo always managed to find himself in the wrong spot. Dude almost backed right into a spot as it was going on. Isn’t that guy a trainer?
  15. Honestly, I don’t have a problem with Ortiz getting in overall. He’s an iffy candidate, and wouldn’t even be in my top 5 candidates that are currently on the ballot, but I’m fine with him getting in. Him getting in on 1st ballot when Edgar Martinez almost missed even though Edgar was the better player is a discussion, but not the one I’m interested in at the moment. I just have a problem with the absolute hypocritical standards. You use the “opposed to Bonds” who obviously used, but never actually tested positive. Basically, whether or not the Ortiz thing was legitimate or not, there isn’t anything there saying he didn’t use, it’s simply saying “it might not have been, and Ortiz and MLB basically are silent on the matter.” And since neither have given any indication of what it was since then, there is no reason not to take what it is at face value. But really, I don’t care about this past the point past it showing the voters pick favorites and there arguments are inconsistent at best, and blatant self serving bullshit at most. Ortiz has red flags to having the same concerns that have kept players far better then him from getting in. So why is he in? He played in Boston and was a media darling, we’re as Bonds, Clemens, and Rodriguez were dicks. That’s the long and short, and it’s stupid.
  16. It takes a special type of idiot voter base to not put in the best hitter we’ve seen since Ruth due to steroid allegations but put in a career DH with a positive steroid test.
  17. Random note, but this is one of the only movies in my memory that seeing one trailer grabbed me and told me "This movie is exactly what you are looking for in a movie." The last one to do it was Spider-Verse. Really looking forward to this.
  18. Pretty sure that happened 5 years ago. We’ve been in “real time” for a while now
  19. I’m not sure which thread this should go in but AAAAAAAAH
  20. I think the problem is he’s basically useless now. The HFO has been a big ball of nothing overall, it’s kind of just been the place they dump guys they like but don’t actually have plans for, and Matt isn’t having a Christian like late career resurgence to make his push feel worth it. The entire Hardy/Orange feud has done nothing but lower Orange.
  21. Eddie Kingston and CM Punk are the best talkers wrestling has had this century. One ten minute promo exchange and I am already ready for them to be feuding for 6 months.
  22. I can’t properly put into words my annoyance that Punk vs. Kingston is going down in my hometown and I’m going to work through it.
  23. I can’t express my sadness that this game isn’t a game with a giant cast, and any time one of your characters goes down in combat they die permanently and need to be replaced by a new one. Alas.
  24. I’ll be the person who watched the 8 man and came away from it left cold. I though it had some damn good performances from the babyface side, and I’m becoming a fan of Jungle Boy rapidly, but Omega falls into his worst habits when he’s around the Bucks, and this was very much “overacting that would make Shawn Michaels say ‘okay, bring it down a feel levels guys’” level here. The Piledriver didn’t look good for a move that was supposed to take someone out of the match, the Bucks and Omega doing the pouty faces made me roll my eyes and almost change the channel, and the finishing stretch was a fun idea marred by some botched and off timing. And I know I’ve seen people give JR shit in the past for going in on refs not doing shit about enforcing the rules, but man, I can’t disagree with his notes on how much the ref was letting the Elite get away with. I know what they do is over, but fuck, I could really go for not watching those 4 and I think they are on my “do something else when they are on screen” list. Sammy/Fish was fine, but didn’t leave an impression on me overall. Sammy is a good bumper, that I can safely say. Comoroto/Darby was fun, though is the worst victim yet of the split screen stuff. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Comoroto, and I know Darby’s great, but it’s hard to judge something when you don’t get to really watch the heel control segment. Serena/Shida had some awkward moments and a not idea commercial break timing, but they really felt like they figured it out in the end. I honestly expected Serena to win this match, and I’m glad she did, I think she is about as good of a worker as they have on the women’s side. Fun heel turn, and a good way to use them keeping track of records into an angle. The ladder match was about as well done as one of those can get. Some nutso bumps from Andrade and PAC, and the right guy one. I’m kind of over watching Archer and Moxley, and Matt Hardy is pretty clearly just there now, but overall the structure of the match was well executed and the big spots were big.
  25. After just watching an Ali Hassan match on the Portland set, I say go complete half ass and just have Matt wrestle in black trunks that just say OIL in white on his butt.
