  1. For some reason I imagined a Nigerian Drum Match being booked like "Cadence of Hyrule", where both guys can only move one space when the drum beats. So now I"m bummed out.
  2. I don’t disagree with Reginald getting Debra’d, but poor Reginald got Debra’d
  3. Omos with some ten year vet level shit talking tonight. That was my favorite “be the giant” match in a long time.
  4. Ok well I forgot about that match. Bad execution there too. Match was just off. Only stinker tonight.
  5. Every booking decision was right tonight IMO. Nicely done.
  6. Loved the opener as a traditional big man title match with no modern go-go-go to it. In fact I could say that about a lot of this card. Nice throwback in that sense. I am such a sucker for giants booked like giants. I LOVED the Omos match. That’s how it’s done. I need Bunny/McAfee Very enjoyable show. My favorite Mania in a good while.
  7. Butcher/Allin was the main, which sounds pretty fucking great
  8. Echo'ing the suggestion that they book the ending of Blood and Guts like (I can't believe I'm going to write this) that one Survivor Series that Dolph Ziggler won. Have Jericho get taken out early, but let Sammy be the guy that overcomes the odds to win it in the end and make the guy. I hope and think that is where this is going.
  9. The other channel had WALTER and Ciampa chopping the shit out of each other, while the final 15 minutes of AEW's show last night was Shawn Michaels / Adam Cole Performance Center bullshit. They deserve to take an L this week.
  10. The interview interruptions are out of control to the point that I need JR to inform me next week that Cowboy has decided to start fining anyone who interrupts a promo $10,000.
  11. Hook has gone from Marko Stunt to Dino Bravo in like 2 months. Jesus. What’s that bigass IKEA in Red Hook selling these days.
  12. looking up: we’re going to get Christian vs Ricky Starks for 15 minutes soon aren’t we? Hell yes to that. looking down: get this Bucks melodrama horse shit off my TV, Tony.
  13. FWIW, Pez has been a highlight of the 1986 WCW rewatches they are doing on Schiavone's pod
  14. Doc being a Legacy Wing inductee is definitely a "shit, I'm getting old" moment for me. Like was said though, I mean his peak was 35 years ago so it's legit. *shakes first at cloud*
  15. Not even a full page for the go-home show for WM. Definitely feels like a low point in interest in what this company is doing right now. I mean a Varsity Blondes / Bear Country squash on Dark would at least get us to page 2.
  16. Does the match take place inside a steel Davey Richards? If so, Roadblock
  17. On one hand, being Austin and Jericho they'll probably spend half of the interview singing "Jambalaya". On the other, Jericho's different than Taker in that he's so visible and we've heard the origin story countless times before. His past 3-4 years is the new, interesting thing to talk about and Austin takes this seriously enough that I imagine he'd see it as a credibility thing if they didn't discuss AEW (and NJPW) at length.
  18. Chris Jericho has become unstuck in time "If anything goes wrong, Hornswoggle will be my constant"
  19. Might be a hot take but I thought 'Monster' topped it
  20. So many of us have said that they need to run the Brodie Lee Memorial Hoss Tourney, that there's no way Coach Tony K hasn't considered it (given his general alignment with the DVDVR ethos). Wardlow, Cage, Hobbs, Hager, Comoroto, Butcher, Luchasaurus, Archer 10 minute time limits or you're both out, to reinforce the need to not fuck around and start slapping meat
  21. Comoroto did look like a star. He definitely got that "woah who the fuck is THAT dude" reaction from me.
  22. Every babyface is standing tall in AEW right now off the back of last night. Makes me wonder how the other shoe might drop next week. Maybe it’s a bad analogy, but AEW is so much better at putting hope and joy at the core of their presentation than WWE is. The difference in the shows having a ‘soul’ is like the MCU vs. WWE’s DC.
  23. Net-net, the mid 90’s AJPW style has done more harm to pro wrestling than good.
