Random thought here, but I've been watching a ton of Terry Funk lately given his recent news and I'm more convinced than ever that he's the most talented pro wrestler who ever lived. He could do absolutely anything at a level that I think only Eddie Guerrero can rival historically. MOTDC's across multiple decades in a variety of styles, in a variety of roles, against a variety of opponents at various levels of the card, all while drawing money.
It's always hard to say "best", but I'm going to say he's the most talented. Dude can truly do anything at an elite level and make whoever he's working for money while doing it.

Adding Hart really worked for me and I dig the whole thing. I think the act is still a “Coach” manager away though. It’s a shame Hennig is no longer with us because this is exactly what he’d be doing in 2021. Angle or Rick Steiner could work.

So is Dan Lambert going to be Jim Ross if he was more reliable n AEW?
I thought it was a pretty obvious Corny rib. Though Lambert surprised me in his delivery - nice job there.

Seconding that. Since they’ve changed the format to a chronological walk through Arn’s career it’s been fantastic. Arn talking WWE and modern stuff did nothing for me but Arn talking about how bad the roads were between Alexandria and Lake Charles is just my game

Seems the obvious thing to do that’s been there for a while now is to move JR full time to the sit down interview role. He’s excellent there and brings the format credibility dating back to Foley and Dustin in 1996

The Dark Order using the power of friendship as the catalyst for Hangman’s ascent to believing in himself is note perfect. AEW is real good at booking wholesome feel good shit sometimes.

Clean shaven, short hair, articulate Otis surely landed a job at Park, Park, Park and Park.

The 90 minute segment on Houston wrestling on the latest Jim Cornette experience is a must-listen.
This was fantastic. Cornett is so amazing at this when he drops the gimmick and becomes just a historian

To add to this topic and also piggy back off of the Miro discussion in the AEW thread, who is the best non-native English speaker (for English promos) on this list?
Its almost Eddie, but last I checked El Paso was in the USA so he’s out. Then there’s Owens as a clear candidate from recent/current guys. But all time? I dunno.

Echo’ing the Miro as Emerald Weapon sentiment. I recall a lot of (valid) discussion here about whether he as a pure WWE system product would succeed away from it. He’s turned himself into one of the best in the world after a year of Lashley bullshit followed by Kip bullshit. The man is Teflon.

Jungle Boy HAS to win his next match like this, right? Similar to when Darby finally won it, you can’t go to the “amazing outing but come up just short” well again with him.

As a side note, 1996 is the best year ever and not just because I was 12, right? Stone Cold and the NWO are born, N64 came out, so much goodness.

For whatever reason I always equate “kid” with being 7 years old, so for me in 1991 my faves were Warrior, Sting, and I loved me some Sid!

I dig Joe’s new role. They haven’t really done “heavy for the GM” since, what, Three Minute Warning? And this is the first time I’ve ever seen a babyface variant, I think.

In this talk about WWE wanting to focus on bigger talent, it dawned on me just how many members of AEW’s hoss division were under WWE control at some point in time. Now I appreciate that’s an “AEW size” hoss list rather than a “WWE size” one (e.g. Brian Cage being 6’0), but WWE had control of
Cage, Miro, Archer, Luchasaurus, Hager, Lee (RIP)
At some point in time, and either didn’t develop or didn’t promote them for shit.
Not every guy on that list is a big time talent of course, but several of them are. It will be interesting to see how AEW continues to develop guys like Wardlow and Hobbs.

Thanks to whoever first introduced the world to the analogy of Penta as your friend in No Mercy who spams taunt to build his finisher meter, because that’s how I’ve gotten through the psychology of every Penta match for years now

Just me fantasy booking, but if I knew I had Andrade in the bag I think I would have debuted him at the PPV, moving the title match there to the main event and having him jump Omega after the defense. Furthers the Forbidden Door stuff re: the AAA match and makes him a much better deal than a segment 2 debut with Vickie on a show no one's really watching this week.

Man there's easily a year's worth of title matches out there for Baker. Statlander, Conti, Deeb, Rosa, Riho are all credible challengers and Velvet and Anna Jay when she's back would be fun TV defenses. This could be a hell of a run she's about to go on. Hell even Britt stooging around for Abadon for a month would be fun as hell.

Best Friends are my pick for the next tag champs. You could main event Beach Break with it - no one does feel good moments to end shows in AEW better than Trent and Chuck

In the year 2021 we have a mega-over pure babyface in Jungle Boy and it’s amazing to see. The crowd organically singing an a cappella Tarzan Boy to rally him on at the end was a thing of beauty.
