  1. The story is Jey and Roman, IMO. And it always has been. Sorry Cody but I keep the belt on the Tribal Chief in six weeks and keep the train rolling.
  2. Ariel would definitely never in a million years publicly refer to Vince as a snowman.
  3. Tony’s tweet is dumb. Haven’t multiple online wrestling personalities/“journalists” appeared on AEW TV during stuff like Inner Circle press conferences?
  4. Kenny / Gunther at WM. Let’s get the first ever 19 star match.
  5. Especially in this market where M&A has basically been dead for 9 months, I don’t see anyone paying a 40% premium for WWE. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Look at the Pac 12’s current media rights issue as an example. People aren’t shelling out stupid money for sports (entertainment) right now.
  6. Sometimes, you stand up for your friend against their own wishes against a bully, even when you’re a dork and stand no chance and you know you’re a dork and stand no chance. Dark Order is so wholesome.
  7. Ruby Soho main event winner! I’m pumped about this like I was that one time Butcher and Blade won a Dynamite main event. And oh man BCC / DO+Page is the big ass six man I didn’t realize I want but really, really want Rampage is stacked!
  8. Jarrett’s pod today on his rookie year is great and the best kinds of episodes of his show. They also sadly make it public that Jerry has cancer.
  9. I’m not sure who that optimal Dax co-host is. I personally find Koon decent enough, though agree he can ask too many leading questions. Oh my, could you imagine Dax partnered up with Bix? We’d get 5 and a half hour long pods on the history of the rear chinlock.
  10. So, Dax said on the pod that his dislike for MJF isn’t shtick. Hard to buy that, right? Way too many podcast and internet wrestling personalities who don’t normally talk down on current talent shit on “the real Max” as a “horrible human being” for it not to be a deal where he asks them to do so, so that he can live the gimmick.
  11. I loved the acknowledgement of the invisible backstage camera at the end.
  12. Interesting that Wardlow hasn’t been mentioned yet and this time last year he may have been the first name out of more than one mouth. To me it’s very obviously Darby. High school jock bully vs picked on goth kid is a tale as old as time.
  13. I agree that the narrative walls that are put up between segments / programs in AEW seem higher than other promotions. Every segment is its own little universe with practically zero cross-pollination. I’d love to see TK lean into his inner Heyman or…dear God…Russo, and have the personalities on his roster interact more. It doesn’t have to be huge stuff, but little things backstage or or coming to / from the ring where these characters from other parts of the map interact. Like how fun would a 30 second HoB / Danhausen interaction be? Stuff like that to glue the roster together.
  14. It definitely felt like they had 7-8 minutes of dead air to fill across the last hour of the show, presumably stemming from the women’s match ending that early. The end of the show hung around about 3 minutes too long
  15. The Gunns need a mouthpiece to complete the act IMO, even if physical charisma-wise Austin Gunn is Brian Christopher 2.0. I know he's with Sanjay, Lethal and Satnam but I loved the fantasy booking a few weeks ago of Dubba J as Col. Robert Parker being the man for the job here. Keep Satnam around as Meng. Tough for Lethal to stick as a heel after the Briscoe match anyway.
  16. Show slapped from front to back, and man that main event was Memphis TV as fuck. Acclaimed will win them back in a $10,000 coal miner's glove on a pole match in Evansville. Sylvia's mac and cheese IS delicious, Stoke.
  17. It’s a credit to Sami, Jey Uso and Roman that I am 100% out on WWE melodrama dating back to the God awful Gargano/Ciampa/Cole stuff in NXT…yet The Bloodline is the best thing on TV. That Cody segment was putrid.
  18. Yeah the breakdown was incredible. Dax is kind of like Bret (surprise, surprise) to me where the dude obviously takes things way too seriously and personally, but damn that dude knows his wrestling
  19. Well, the scene in Montreal is going to be Canadian Stampede / One Night Stand / Money in the Bank level. This is going to be something.
  20. Man, that’s good shit. I know physical media is dead but when this is all said and done they need to release a Bloodline comp just so I can have it. EDIT: Just finished the entire thing. Just tremendous! Everyone needs to watch this.
  21. The thumbtack spot with Captain Crunch would be no fucking joke though
  22. I personally like how much of a wild card the TNT title is, given how most reigns are on the long-ish side these days. Wow, that sounds like I’m harkening back to the Russo days and I’m definitely not, but knowing the champ can drop it in any given defense is exciting
  23. The sound on that plywood bump was sick. Those guys are nuts. Great show!
  24. How do you beat Sami in Montreal straight up without that resulting in the crowd turning against the booking and vis-a-vi Cody? Not buying that report just yet. This is how you get “you’re not Sami” chants directed at Cody for a solid month on live TV.
  25. Judgment Day is a +1 on the HHH ledger, right? Over the past six months they’ve gone from spooky…something to grade A shitbags that have seen Rhea elevated, Dom elevated, and Balor showing personality for the first time in WWE.
