  1. When he first showed up this season, I assumed it was a take on Vincent's character from Daredevil.
  2. It's amazing how quickly things can turn on a dime on "Bates Motel ". I went from laughing at the "turkey pot pie" line to being completely terrified of Norman within the same scene.
  3. Has anybody here read "Red or Dead" by David Peace (same author as The Damned United)? I got it today and will be reading it after my current book.
  4. Great finish, but Vardy was offside.
  5. I'm watching the Netflix sketch show, The Characters. The Natasha Rothwell episode is great. Especially the subway sketch.
  6. Great show and I'm sad the season is over already. Can't wait for season 3! I was a little underwhelmed by this season; it didn't hit the emotional extremes of season 1. It was still a show that I looked forward to every week, though.
  7. UEFA changed their rules, so now 5 teams can qualify for the CL in certain countries (England, Spain, Germany, England). So they can finish 4th and they don't have to worry about it being taken away from them like in the year that Chelsea finished 6th, but won the CL. So they are pretty safe now that Chelsea lost yesterday. Even if Utd/Liverpool win the UL.
  8. I've only read 3 Booker Prize winners: Sacred Hunger (1992), True History of the Kelly Gang (2001), & Wolf Hall (2008). But the 2014 & 2015 winners are on my to read list: The Narrow Road to the Deep North and A Brief History of Seven Killings.
  9. I would say its point is as slice of life literature. But obviously not something any sane human being would experience; it's pure evil. It's a documentary as fiction.
  10. manage vendor contracts and financial records for a hospice.
  11. I'm right now in the middle of "Eyrie" by Tim Winton. At first, I found it difficult getting used to the Australian dialect, but once I got the hang of it, the book has flowed smoothly. It's about an unemployed former spokesperson for an environmental activist group. He's middle aged, divorced, depressed, and pretty relatable. The book turns when he runs into somebody from his past that he hadn't seen in twenty years. I haven't read many Australian books, but this seems like a good one.
  12. Some interesting looks at the back in the Southampton v Chelsea game: Saints are playing a back 3 and Chelsea are starting Ivanovic at CB.
  13. Does this count? It's the opener on an EP, not a LP.
  14. I like the show, but the Kardashian name-dropping is embarrassing; they've had more air time than Nicole's children.
  15. Yeah, he's filling in on Iggy Pop's show on BBC Radio 6.
  16. Are we really going to get into club loyalty here? We are talking about hired guns here, not somebody who had been with the club for 20 years.
  17. Dele Alli didn't just do that.
  18. It seems there are 3 good games for the neutrals coming up; it was hard to decide, but I'm watching Leicester/Stoke.
  19. I think that both teams scoring 3 consecutive goals qualifies. edit: plus 2 stoppage time goals
  20. There's definitely a grey area with it. It's a completely different space movie than Interstellar. Is it a dramatic comedy or a comedic drama?
  21. I'm not buying that was a penalty. It looked like Renfroe threw himself to the ground at the end.
  22. OMG great goal Oxford. They're up on Swansea!
