  1. NWA Battlezone,no wait an indy that drew 30 people tops doesn't count. Plus half the people in the town they ran had no idea they existed
  2. I can not possibly imagine there is a person that exists that wishes a Michael Elgin match went longer. I like Elgin. Been a fan since I first saw him in IWA MS. What about him do you like? He reminds me a bit of Steve Williams. In the ring I like his style. Never seen him cut many promos so no clue how he is on the mic.
  3. It started off as a squirrel made out of rope that I got her for X-mas. After she shredded a huge part of it I cut it down into 3 pieces of rope. She loves it cause she can chase it,play tug of war with it, or just chew the hell out of it. But she is the only dog I have had that loves wasabi. Was making a sandwich not long after I got her. A glob of wasabi fell to the floor. Before I could clean it up she was on it licking it up. Now anytime she sees me getting the container out she goes nuts. And here's a pic of her after she got fixed. She kept licking her stitches so for about a week had to wear the cone of shame. Didn't notice until someone pointed it out,Maggie blends in with my flooring.
  4. Avatar is hit or miss. I like Crossed and the Alan Moore stuff they have put out. Hated the vampires vs zombie series written by Max Brooks. And their revival of Hellina was worse than the original Hellina stuff Lightning put out in the mid 90s.
  5. Maggie turned 1 a few weeks back. Got her all kinds of new toys.A birthday cookie and even some new treats. After eating the treat and half the cookie, then smelling the new toys, she ran off and got her favorite toy. A piece of rope.
  6. I can understand that. It is like Crossed Badlands. I get that it isn't something everyone would like. But I enjoy it. Anyone read Mark Waid's revamping of The Fox?
  7. Hey speaking of Ring Ka King....why did that fail? It seemed like it was wildly popular. It didn't draw well enough to get picked up for a second season.
  8. I can not possibly imagine there is a person that exists that wishes a Michael Elgin match went longer. I like Elgin. Been a fan since I first saw him in IWA MS.
  9. I am loving the art the most in Black Hood. And it improves a bunch after that first issue. The final issue of the first storyline came out this week.
  10. Just watched this weeks ROH on DA episode. Nakamura vs Strong was good. Went in not expecting much, mostly cause I have never cared for Strong.Love Nakamura and he put on a great match. Gedo vs Elgin was a squash. Wish it had been longer. Styles/Young Bucks vs Ropongi/Okada was meh. Do not like the Bucks. Been watching them off and on since 2008 and they haven't improved one bit. Styles was his normal boring to me self. Ropongi is fun and Okada was decent. Not the best episode I have seen of ROH. But better than I was expecting after hearing what all matches were on it.
  11. I need to read Jungle Jim. He was the one King character I knew almost nothing about. Am I the only person, loving Dark Circle's The Black Hood series?
  12. I was at the House show in Beaumont and then the PPV in Houston Benoit no showed.
  13. Local comic shop cut me a deal. So got King's Watch 1-5,and the first two issues of Phantom,Mandrake,Flash Gordon,Jungle Jim and Prince Valiant. Only read King's watch and the first two issues of Mandrake and Phantom so far,but really enjoyed them. I hope this doesn't end up like most things at Dynamite. Where after a year or so they just stop publishing the series.
  14. Thanks man. I started the blog to improve my writing skills. And most years outside of October I might add 2 or 3 things a month. October I watch and review a horror film each day.
  15. I am also reading piles of comics. Hell most evenings you can find me and my lady sitting in the living room. Sometime on the tv while we are both reading a stack of comics. She is the one that got me back into comics after a few years of not reading them.
  16. www.doubletsblogofreviews.blogspot.com I usually read around 50 to 60 books a year. But I have piles of free time and read extremely fast.
  17. I am doing a similar thing at my blog. Girlfriend got tired of my unread bookpile taking over the bedroom. So challenged me to read 101 books this year. Finished book 77 Sunday.
  18. Yeah I am surprised I hadn't read it before. Discovered Gibson thru Neuromancer in 87 or 88.
  19. Did Matt goto rehab before or after August 2013? Cause if it was before, well I know he isn't clean.
  20. A bunch of friends went to the GFW show last night in Pearl/Jackson MS. Was told it drew around 600 people. And the crowd loved the Doc Gallows vs Luke Hawx match. Which makes sense since Hawx is huge in MS/LA area. Was told the worst match was the women's match. Bodyslam Media filmed at least a few of the matches. When they get uploaded I will post them.
  21. Mirrorshades edited by Bruce Sterling Found this anthology at the library book sale. It is missing the dust jacket,so I almost passed it by. But the title caught my eye. Then flipped thru it and saw it was a cyberpunk collection. Read the first 2 stories last night and it is good so far.
  22. Yeah K&B has been gone for years. But as a kid they had the best selection of comics. 2 or 3 spinner racks. Plus they always had almost all of the magazine sized b/w comics.
  23. I enjoyed Antiques Roadshow, until back in the mid 2000s someone brought in an Atari 2600 and some games. The apprasier told them that Pac-Man on the Atari was worth at least 40 bucks. Yeah one of the most common Atari games, the one that was a pack in game for years. And the one I still find at thrift stores for 50 cents is worth $40. Kind of lost interest in the show after that.
  24. Avatar needs to adapt more Lansdale stories. Read Drive In last night and loved it.
  25. I bought it off the spinner racks at K&B drugs. Was about 5 or 6 when it came out.
