One time four guys all wore ref shirts and wildly cheered everytime a ref would come to the ring at an indy show I went to
Down in MS we got Ref Oscar Boma. AKA Ref O. Boma. Any show he is at he gets a huge cheer and O BOMA O BOMA chant when he comes out. Same with Super Dave Miller aka Pondwater Dave aka the ref that counted the pin in Flair's final match.

just thought of a potentially logically dumb wrestling move: the jumping clawhold. Meaning you jump off of something towards your opponent and put them in the claw on the way down. My original idea would have had the opponent on the mat and the attacker jumping onto them and putting the law on that way.
Hey, if Iron Claw actually makes some money, somebody's gotta try using that hold again.
There's a guy down here in the deep south uses a claw variant as a finisher.
Nightmare Jeremiah ,so far has done a mandible claw into a chokeslam ,and also a normal head claw into a chokeslam. We jocked that with the mandible claw vaariant he should pull a jockstrap out of his gear ,AKA MR JOCKO,and put htat on his hand before applying the claw.

The Best Live Experiences thread reminded me of maybe the most baffling wrestling related experience of my life, which doesn't quite fit in there.
I'd gone to New Orleans for Wrestlemania 34 in 2018, not a good Wrestlemania, but the one that I get to say I have physically attended. When I was emptying my pockets for the security pat down/scan, I take out my Kindle to put in the little tray. The security guard looks at it with total astonishment and says, 'Y'all READ?!'
At the time and for years afterwards, I assumed she was just confused and disgusted that anybody might read for pleasure, and maybe that seeing this Kindle had affirmed everything she had ever believed about the effete, intellectual degenerates that they produce over in England.
On more recent reflection though, I've begun to wonder whether I was being uncharitable to Americans, and the thing that really blew a fuse in her brain was the very idea of a non-illiterate fan of professional wrestling.
Nah it's the deep south. I have had a few times in a Waffle House late at night people looking at me cause I am reading a book. Feels like living a Bill Hicks bit.

Seeing BB'92 live puts you in some elite company, I'll tell you that much!
Been lucky that was my first PPV live, then hit up BB93 the next year in Biloxi. And from 98 until 2007 hit up any WCW or WWF/WWE ppv that came to Houston. WM 17 was there. Dont remember there being really any true bad PPVS in that area I hit up.
Now where I am no PPVs are close. Besides NOLA and not going to WM again.

Got a few, grew up on the Gulf coast part of MS.
First show I rememberr going to was first time Mid South came to Biloxi. All I clearly remember from the show was Duggan coming out and hte crowd went nuts.
Skip ahead a bit and I just finished high school,I'm over in Mobile AL at Peaches record store and see a poster that Beach Blast 92 is in Mobile in a week. So as an early 18th birthday present went to Beach Blast 92 with my dad. We sat next to the entrance ramp about 5 rows baack. Show up often during the Sting/Cactus match.
Since then only ones that have stood out was when my oldest kid was into wrestling. Had him every summer and usually June WWE would come to Beaumont for a house show then Houston for a PPV the next night. It was 2007........
Nothing but indie shows and one Impact tv taping for me since then.

Big guys always find work in WWE yet Hammerstone has had 3 or 4 tryouts there and was never picked up. Hammerstone is screwed unless MLW goes out of business or TK buys him out
Hammerstone has been telling indie promoters that he has 3 months left on his MLW contract "And they aint booked me in months"
Oddly his booking fee has dropped. -
Errementari The Black Smith and the Devil on Netflix is worth watching. Now watch it was talked about on here in 2017 when it came out.

How was that movie? I was interested but never checked it out.
Worth watching off Starz. I might buy it if I find it cheap.

I meant Black Christmas however I am now shocked there hasn't been a horror movie based on a killer getting people during Walmart's door buster deals
Black Friday, with Bruce Campbell and Devon Sawa exists.
Fairly recent. But it is a toy store that while preping for Black Friday on Thanksgiving night gets invaded by demons. Michael Jai White is also in it. -
No tattoos. Was gonna get the artist that inked my dad and grandfather to do mine. Then he passed. Haven't found an artist I trust since then.

A bunch of people at my work are planning a group costume as a bunch of 80s/90s wrestlers. I know we've got a Hogan and a Stone Cold, can't remember who else.
Every year some friends throw a Halloween/Birthday party for the husband. Eveery year she wants to do a couples costume. Eveery year she waits till 2 days before the party to then decide to just wear her Jubiliee outfit.
Which means for years now I am

Ultimo Gallos #heelmark lucha libre Central American Heavyweight champion.
Won the belt on Feb 29th 2020 in an apartment match. Title linage isStarts as HOODMARK Lucha Libre World title. Won May 4th 2019 by Matt Cross.
HOODMARK folds. All their stuff gets sold off to wholesalers.
Jan 2020 Alex Graves, retired MS indie wrestler now,at his shoot job at the Journey's Outlet store finds the title in a box of Chuck taylors. He says he is the champ now.
I win on Feb 29th as mentioned 2020. Title gets renamed #HEELMARK Lucha Libre Central American Title when in late 2021 Hoodmark came back.

Paternal grandparents took me to my first show when I was under a year old.
Far back as I can remember I have been watching. Sure I have taken breaks, mostly 90 thru about 97 and 2007 thru 2009.
Think what got me hooked was even with just a rooftop antenna and rabbit ears I was getting pretty much every syndicated wrestling show between 4 channels. So Saturdays was WCCW,JCP,Mid South/UWF,Memphis,GLOW,Florida and all 3 WWF shows.
Pretty much now for modern stuff I watch Impact and ROH most weeks. Then hit up at least 2 to 5 indie show every month. Lucky enough to live in an area with a thriving indie scene.

So has it leaked that Hammerstone is gone from MLW?
Just rumor I kept hearing this past weekend when Hammerstone and Richard Holiday worked a show in my state.

I picked Olive Branch out of the sky, but if I ever move back to Mississippi, I moving to either Olive Branch or Horn Lake. Crime be damned. I am not moving back to terrible part (relative to the rest of Mississippi) that's just in the middle of nowhere.
Little crime in my area. But it is rural as hell. I'm between Bude and Brookhaven.

My handwriting is worse whether I am writing on a solid surface or not, and I don't have a learning disability. I was never blessed with immaculate handwriting.
My writing it horrible. Part of it is I am right handed, but my kindergarten teacher and the kids at my table were all left handed.
By 6th grade teachers told me to "Just wait till you get home and type up that paper. That way I can read it."
By jr high and high school teachers were begging me to "Please print not cursive."
Now I don't write anything and my handwriting is horrid.

Didn't Alabama Doink die in 2016? Either way, time for Alabama Doink II to carry on the legacy.
Yes Alabama Doink passed. But his old fed AWF is still around and their last event a new Alabama Doink walked out.
Word is it is Bama Doink's kid under the mask. The kid paid HTM for the Patriot gimmick and been working as Patriot in Alabama off and on for years.I want Bama Doink vs Bama Ultimo/Ultimate Dragon vs Bama Brymstone.
