  1. Planet of Lana looked absolutely gorgeous. Definitely interested in that one.
  2. Death Stranding getting that Snyder Cut action. That trailer did make me laugh, though.
  3. Control is the Epic giveaway this week. If you've not played it, it's a hell of a game. Well worth the time...
  4. Nothing I was absolutely floored by, but plenty of stuff I'll follow because they look like something I'd like to try. The standout to me was El Paso Elsewhere, which looks heavily inspired by the Max Payne games. It's been a while since a "3rd person bullet time shooter" came out, so I'm there for that. EDIT: Here's the trailer for anyone who may be interested in that game specifically, so you don't have to hunt for it in the showcase:
  5. As a fan of both companies, the entire situation sucks, but I’m not sure how Brett Lauderdale thought it’d end any other way.
  6. Nice article on Edith Surreal https://www.inquirer.com/news/edith-surreal-trans-pro-wrestler-philadelphia-20210602.html?outputType=amp
  7. Spoilered for size. I get some Omega vibes off of this particular era of Borne...
  8. I didn't know that I wanted to see Heroes Never Eventually Die (End/Hero) vs. Mox/Kingston until right now, but right now that match is all I can think about. I don't care where it happens, but damn do I need it to happen.
  9. I've been bitten by The Binding of Isaac bug again. It's not a game I've put a zillion hours into, but whenever I start playing it, I can feel that sort of pull. Playing Rebirth on Xbox this time around (I only own Vanilla on Steam) and I'm running into a bunch of crashes. It might keep me from getting fully addicted, at least. It just ruined a run that I might have taken to my first kill of Mom's Heart. Blah.
  10. Not a match, but I wasn't sure where else to stick this. This channel has a playlist, broken out by year (starting in 1984), of commercials featuring wrestlers. There's a bunch of Event Center-type rundowns mixed in, but it's mostly commercials. They hit most of the famous stuff, but there's also a bunch I've never seen before. A good number from Japan as well. Turns out that Inoki will shill just about anything. The entire playlist is a fun watch.
  11. I’m not watching nearly enough current wrestling right now to name 10 dudes. From what I am watching, though, I will shout out Matt Makowski. He has been terrific in Paradigm Pro (the match w/ Matthew Justice might be the match that hooked me most this month) and I enjoy him being the foil to the Camp Leapfrog gang. He still feels like someone you can get in on the ground floor on. In 2 years (maybe sooner), he could break onto the “TV wrestling” landscape and I think he’ll be a hit when he does.
  12. I don't know how much of this is out there (video description indicates that it might be the only surviving episode?), but I'd watch anything else available. Montreal is one of the territories that I know next to nothing about. Especially this early in the 80s. There's a fairly boilerplate, but still fun Andre handicap match in this one. Andre seems like he's in a good mood, which makes it feel more light hearted, I guess
  13. I always have time for a Gary Young match...
  14. For something completely different, why not some Titanes en el RIng?
  15. You should be able to watch for free on A&E’s website. That’s how I watched the Piper episode yesterday. Not sure how long they stay up, though.
  16. I started messing with MLB21 today. I’m not a baseball guy and sports games have mostly gotten way too complex for what I want from them. That said, this lets you tweak things so I’m pretty much only playing my at bats or the games I’m pitching (RttS mode sets you up as a two-way player). Having fun tooling around as the newest Harrisburg Senators super slugger. The way I have it set up is basically feels like NES RBI baseball with prettier graphics. Exactly what I needed.
  17. Fabs vs. Nightmares, Masa Saito throwing a dude and Atlas/Reed vs. DWBs is a show I want to watch. Is the dude who confronts Superstar Graham Ricky Vaughn/Lance Von Erich?
  18. I finished the base game of Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I enjoyed it. I didn't *love* it, but I think it got overlooked. It has a tighter open world than the recent AC games and some of the movement and combat options just made it feel more "fun" than a lot of open world games. Fidgety physics aside, I enjoyed most of the puzzle variety as well. Definitely BOTW-inspired. It was a breezy 60 hours or so. Then, I started the first DLC and I just feel like saying fuck this game entirely. It ramps the difficulty up by 1000. Not in combat. That was never too terribly difficult. But the sort of strings of movements, required to be done pixel perfect in a super limited window have been driving me bonkers. I must have tried one section of a vault today for over an hour before finally giving up because I was smash a controller angry. To wit, there's an area with a pressure plate that needs to be held down to start a moving platform. You then need to ride that platform, while avoiding a bunch of lasers. There's another pressure plate on that platform. You need to stand on it to open a gate. You then need to toss a statue of Fenyx (there's a mechanic that allows you to clone yourself, place that statue on the ground somewhere and switch back and forth with it at the press of a button) through said gate so that you can proceed. All of that is happening in a poison cloud that saps your health continually. Oh yeah...that first pressure plate? There's a laser sweeping over it slowly. Anything you put on it to weigh it down gets destroyed, so that moving platform will just stop and start to recede at some point. Trying to juggle all of that at once is maybe more than I can handle. I may just drop this for now and move on.
  19. I don't think he coined the phrase "Lurk and learn," but I feel like he's the first person I ever saw use it. He might have even used it on me in the days of yore on this very board! That had been my aesthetic anyway (pretty much continues to be, I guess), even before seeing it stated so plainly. Unlike a lot of folks who used it just to shut people down, it felt like he was more interested in engaging in an actual conversation. Not to say that he couldn't be, uh...abrasive at times, but the world needs curmudgeons, too. Horror lit certainly lost an encyclopedia's worth of lore and knowledge. RIP
  20. Happened in JAPW. Halloween Hell 2010. I'm not sure the full match has ever been released? May be wrong about that. There is this, though:
  21. A very young Al Snow (this is the oldest match listed for him on Cagematch) versus Kerry Von Erich and a Dory/Patera vs. Flair/Blackwell tag are the highlights here.
