  1. Both Tankman and Edwards are going to be stars if they get the opportunities. Edwards is as good a promo as he is a hoss, so the sky is the limit on him. How’ve the Moriarty and Makabe matches been? Two of my current favorites as well. I almost regret getting in on the XSX preorder this week, because I couldn’t justify the Collective stuff on top of it. Following along on Twitter/boards makes me a little jealous!
  2. With that hair and build...when did Rick Rude snatch Jake’s gimmick!?
  3. No idea if they're still available, but Series X preorders are up on the Costco site. Their bundle includes an extra controller and is $549.99 I managed to grab one because I happened to be on Reddit literally when the post went up. We'll see if the preorder sticks...
  4. The new Keith Elliot Greenberg book, Too Sweet: Inside the Indie Wrestling Revolution is available on Hoopla. Both as an ebook and on eAudio. https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/13376700 https://www.hoopladigital.com/title/13376525
  5. Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I was browsing around Amazon Prime video and noticed that they’ve added a documentary about Sweet Daddy Siki. Haven’t watched it yet, but I thought it might be of interest to some folks around these parts...
  6. Mance Warner is the only current wrestler I can think of who does it. Never get the sense of menace the fine gentlemen you listed would evoke, but I do appreciate it!
  7. That's Cheech Hernandez. Tagged with Cloudy a lot in the Northeast around the time of this video. Currently teams with Colin Delaney as "To Infinity and Beyond." Really good tag guy. He and Delaney are one of the more slept on teams on the indy scene right now. https://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=1358
  8. Yes, each variation counts as its own item. I can not only tell you every piece of furniture/clothing I’ve ever had, but also tell you which colors I’ve had them in. It’s madness. Especially since there are too many items to remember which I have full sets of. So, when I get gifted an after-school jacket for the 53rd time, I still have to check the color because what if I’m misremembering and I actually have all of the *school* jackets, not the *after-school* jackets? I did this to myself.
  9. I went to a dark place and cataloged every single item I’ve ever touched. Which now means that I have to keep that up. Every. Single. Day. Humorously, despite the amount of time I’ve sunk into this game, I still only have about 2500/14000+ items, so this will go on forever. Don’t do this. Unless you want to, I guess!
  10. For all of you talking about cataloging stuff, there’s an app called ACNH.Guide that I use that has simplified the process greatly. Not sure if there’s an Android version, but the iOS version has been great for me.
  11. Disregard. Didn't realize I wasn't on the last page of the thread and the info I was posting had already been shared by Tabe!
  12. Was there a team that inspired more copycats than the Roadies? Man, to be like 7-8 years old and see them sprint out and destroy some job guys before Iron Man even stopped playing. Definitely one of the big reasons that this pro wrestling stuff has been part of my life for close to 40 years.
  13. I’m on like turn 280 of the Civ game I’m in the midst of. Playing as the US because the tutorial I was watching said it was a good “starter” culture. I’m starting to grok the cause and effect of some stuff. Other stuff, not at all. I’m a turn away from launching a satellite, though. My military is substantially larger than anyone other than Cleopatra. Quite awhile ago, Victoria declared a surprise war on me. I salted the earth on her empire. All of this to say that I’m still not 100% sure I even like this game, but trying to learn it has been a good distraction the last few days.
  14. I preferred Dragon Quest VIII to any Final Fantasy game I've ever played (1, 7-10, 12-13). I liked what little I played of XI as well, but I stupidly bought it on PS4, when I know that I don't really use that console as much. I should have gotten it on Switch, though it is coming to Game Pass in December, so I'll go through it on Xbox.
  15. Um...what? Only $95 and you too can be an Associate Producer! https://www.talesfromthedeadzone.com/
  16. I always got the sense that people didn’t like 9 as much, because it went more “traditional” after 7/8. Maybe it was just the backlash at the time and people have come around on it? It’s my favorite after 10, though. How do folks here feel about 12? I keep thinking of picking up the remaster on Switch because I remember that game fondly, but haven’t pulled the trigger on it. I recall the...Gambit system, I think it’s called (?) being a blast to mess around with and it made that game’s AI feel like it was actually following these giant lists of nonsense commands I was feeding it. You could absolutely break that game with a smart setup. Never finished 8. After a hundred hours or whatever, finding out that the final disc wouldn’t read was, let’s say...frustrating.
  17. That game is clearly not for me, then! Messing around some more in Civ today and I feel a little less lost. Slightly. Maybe. I've mostly been following the suggestion of the game as to what I should build, but that often sees me completely unprepared for any sort of military action. I just need to figure out a better balance and maybe I'll be on to something.
  18. I have never spent any time on a Civ game. I didn’t grow up a PC gamer and, frankly, 4x games seem overwhelming. Since I’m not in the middle of anything else, though, I was looking through my backlog of free games. I’d forgotten that EGS gave away Civ VI. Decided to give it a shot. Holy shit. Overwhelming is an understatement. I like to think of myself as reasonably intelligent most of the time, but I am very lost, even in the tutorial. Now watching a bunch of YouTube vids to try and wrap my head around things. I wouldn’t say that I’m having fun yet, but I am intrigued by what I’ve seen so far. With Crusader Kings III available on Game Pass, I have to ask...would that be an “easier” game to get into? I want to give the genre an honest shot
  19. Apropos of nothing (and it’s certainly not even a lukewarm take), I love watching Terry Gordy work. Every facet of his performance just screams “This dude is going to kick someone’s ass, enjoy it immensely, then go drink everyone under the table.” Even his promos paint him as a guy who would have been just as comfortable slapping your grandma as he was beating down a hapless Von Erich pretty boy. This is not a new discovery for me. Pretty sure I’ve been on the bandwagon since ‘86 or so. Just happened to catch a few matches this evening that really reminded me why I love this pro wrestling stuff we’re (mostly) all into.
  20. Played through Chapter One of Tell Me Why. I quickly realized that I’ve slept on this developer and genre for way too long. Wasn’t expecting the emotional gut punch(es). Probably should have been. The wife is fully on board as well.
  21. I've never played any of the Dontnod games, but Tell Me Why has caught my eye (so did the Life is Strange games, but I just haven't gotten to them). One question about them, though, before I start, possibly with a tandem playthrough with my wife: Are there any sort of fail states, or will the game just react to whatever dumbass decisions I might make and let me continue? Been a long, long time since I did any sort of adventure-ish game. Like...NES Shadowgate long. That was more point and click obviously, but you could and would die at the drop of a hat in the game. I don't know that I care either way, but it would likely frustrate my wife if she gets hooked into the story. Edit: To clarify a bit, I guess by "fail states," I mean a straight up game over. If bad shit is going to happen because of whatever choices the player makes, that a completely different thing to me.
  22. Considering suplexes (which is a phrase that I love) has made me realize that while yes, they're among my favorite, uh...genre(?) of moves in pro wrestling overall, I might prefer when folks alter them into busters. Love a good Brainbuster. Love a Fisherman's Buster. Love a Michinoku Driver #1. Does anyone do something similar with a Northern Lights setup? Northern Lights Bomb is also awesome, but a different setup. I will not argue with Hokuto if her opinion differs on the matter, though. I used to use it as a finisher in an efed, so clearly deserve credit for inventing it if no one actually does it!
  23. Another (and I think the final) batch of SNK games coming to Twitch Prime or Amazon Gaming or whatever it's called this week. No rush, these are good through March '21. Garou: Mark of the Wolves Metal Slug 3 The Last Blade 2 Samurai Showdown V Special Shock Troopers The King of Fighters '97 Global Match The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match Final Edition The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match
  24. I get and appreciate what they were going for, but I didn’t like what Kurosawa mode did to the audio of the game. Loved it visually, but I turned it off after a few minutes.
