  1. I can see the mob being a big bad for the show for a bit. I don't know if Gordon is in Gotham when the Waynes died in the books, but I can see them putting him on the case for the show's purposes at some point with a mob tie-in.
  2. A young, James Gordon's adventures? Is Fox really that impressed by The CW's formula for superhero tv shows?
  3. It was only the pilot, but I think I'm going to need to see more superheroes on the show to keep my attention... Also, I don't think Whedon is going to be involved in this show as much as some people assumed.
  4. So his Batman voice was one of the reason why he got the part? Well now.
  5. Yeah, I just watched the pilot episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE on Hulu. It has potential. I didn't laugh at everything, but I laughed at enough to keep watching. Samberg is the one they're going to have to rein in to keep it from being too silly and corny. Fun pilot.
  6. I know I'm starting to sound like a cheerleader, but you guys aren't going to sit here and ignore the crowd support for Titus O'Neal. I won't let it happen. I missed most of RAW but it's nice to hear that Stephanie is still stepping on people while they're down. Heyman should kiss all The Heyman Guys from now on. Take one for the the team, Brock.
  7. Yep. When I see Jane's death mention now the majority people seem to have this idea that she was the one who was all bad for Jesse (usually in defense of Walt letting her die), but Jesse fucked up her life too. Moreso.
  8. Yeah, I'm leaning toward Jesse being the one to take out Walt now (if anyone does).
  9. 3. How come Gomez can't get one R.I.P. in here? No love. I might keep this numbers gimmick. It's very complex after 2.
  10. 1. Walt's druglord identity is out in the open now and he's basically taking his "get out of Dodge" pass. We know something big has to happpen to get him back. I think it's much more likely to involved his family than anything to do with Jesse especially at this point. Remorse or not. 2. The ARYAN BROTHERHOOD have most of the money and they have Jesse cooking meth. Things are going too well for them. Something is going to have to set them off. I still leaning toward Todd's despise. Lydia is still around for a reason. Todd has a creepy thing for her, and some level of respect for Walt. 4. Since they didn't off Jesse in this episode, we have to be getting some type of big conclusion to Jesse and Walt's relationship/saga. I can't see Walt just saving Jesse and/or Jesse ever being okay with Walt again. Nah, they are at the point of no return now. I can't see both of them making it out alive in their final interaction. I like how they sold Skylar realizing Walt's phone call was to absolve her from suspicion. I didn't think they overplayed it.

    NFL 2013: WEEK 2

The Dolphins won against a spunky Indy team. Next week versus the Falcons will determine if this thing is legit. I'm becoming invested...

The Redskins are getting worked right now. Sophomores never get any love, RG3.

    Feeling Poptimistic

I quite like the 'big reverb on the huh!' gimmick with the Katy Perry single, and I do like the video (especially the 'oh it was just a dream.....actually no, it wasn't bit at the end) - but yeah, it's just a bit too simple and cynical for my tastes. Katy Perry is certainly visually appealing so you won't be hearing any complaints from me about the Roar video. Are you sure there's no Rihanna album coming out this year? She(or should I say her record label) seem pretty gung ho about her releasing a new album almost every calendar year.
  14. I'll never forgive Kick-Ass 2 or Brian Fowler for it finishing dead last on the box office list. All it had to do was beat R.I.P.D. Never, I say.

Strange. I think Katy Perry's "Roar" is a pretty paint-by-the-numbers inspirational song. I get why it's popular: it's filled with simple cliches and it has an easy-to-sing along with chorus. I just find it boring. Too boring. Meanwhile, I'm actually digging Miley Cyrus' new single. The "Wrecking Ball" song is a legit hit. She got me with that one. "Surprise, motherfucker."
  16. None of the guys in the new class could touch the charisma of Zach Morris let alone the moves of AC Slater. The girls they brought in were pretty attractive though.
  17. We talked about Grant Morrison and his work for a bit, so how about Warren Ellis next?I just finished NextWave. I know it's Marvel, but it might as well be a non-big two work since it's on the lower end of the totem pole. Not something I would normally read, but I thought it was fun for what it was: an action adventure comic about a ragtag team with a bunch of humor (that didn't always land) packed in. Quick read. I like the occassional references to the bigger named superheroes too. Ellis is good at namedrops/shoutouts. Read Planetary awhile back. I'm on board with the praise for it. I didn't get all the quantum physics and time travel stuff, which is why I want to reread it in the future. I enjoyed the concept of the Four, especially the dissension within the group. I think I may had some issues with Ellis' pacing and I think I cared more about the overall arc than the mini ones, but it's been awhile. The 4th man revealed wasn't super shocking to me. I think it may had crossed my mind at one point, but I dismissed it. I certainly wouldn't say "I called it". Transmetropolitan is next up on my Ellis' list. I don't mind spoilers especially for old work (we have anti-spoiler technology on this board anyway) so there's plenty of his work to talk about in here.
  18. I'm pretty sure shaving Roman Reigns' locks off would drop RAW's ratings a whole percentage point. Why would you mess with that man's gorgeous mane? Have we learn nothing from Felicity? Don't pretend you don't understand that reference, people.
  19. I know this isn't the Dexter thread, but its final season is just getting buried beneath all the Breaking Bad episodes, news, and etc. Barely keeping up with it through recaps/spoilers. Tough break.
  20. I edited out the Millions of Dollars part now since the Primetime Players did not make an appearance on the show and won't get a cut. Meanwhile Christian got paid for 3 minutes of work. I don't think that's a bad day.
  21. He didn't have any speaking lines when they dragged out his beaten carcass for a cameo, but I bet you don't get paid by the line in WWE. Just the appearance. A win is a win.
  22. Eights pages in and apparently AJ Vs. Lawler is the hot topic heading into the PPV. I saw it coming. I applaud them for not destroying a modern flatscreen tv in the Big Show/Stephanie segment. You can't recycle those CRT bricks anyway. I like it when Stephanie plays the bully. She's good at kicking people when they're down; my favorite trait. We need a Ryback and Stephanie segment immediately.
  23. I said this last week but they need to have Booker T model himself after the Tommy character from the iconic MARTIN tv show from the 90s. He needs to wander the halls of WWE giving unsolicited advice to everyone yet no one is clear what his job is or how he keeps getting into arenas. "You ain't got no job, Booker!"
  24. Due to football everything about this show is a blur right now but it did remind me how catchy Edge's Theme song is when it hits. Starting singing: "ON THIS DAY....I SEE CLEARLY" in a Prince falsetto as soon as the beat dropped. No shame or courtesy for my neighbors.
  25. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8i5CR4kDjM The new HBO series, True Detective, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson premieres January 2014. The show was created by novelist Nic Pizzolato. It centers on two detectives, Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana.
