Slightly off topic, but I happened to catch Impact from the first week of April on the YTTV channel, and they're pretty quietly building kind of a cool roster - like, I definitely didn't have Mustafa Ali vs Rhyno or Ziggler vs Alexander on my bingo card this year (at the f'n ECW Arena, no less). Don't get me wrong: I'm always down for more fresh faces in AEW, but dare I say it, I'm beginning to think TNA is no longer quite the death sentence it once was post-Hogan & Friends

It's been really good for a few years now. The roster is, like you said, really interesting and they cycle people through quite a bit, so no one gets too stale.

Rate their fits: Bunkhouse match edition

Danielson: gets massive points for the classic “blue jeans with knee pads on the outside” look.  Really, the only acceptable bunkhouse/street fight attire.  Loses points for wearing his own merch instead of a gimme shirt from the local radio station.

Claudio: black jeans and knee pads on the inside.  Real fashion faux pas.  Shirt came off and he ended up looking like a member of Too Sexy: A Loving Tribute to Right Said Fred.

Takeshita: stereotypical gear made him look like a guy you’d dispose of in the first level of Kung Fu.  I guess he didn’t want to straight up dress like a Yakuza since he does have to go home sometime.

Fletcher: remember when MC Hammer dropped the “MC” and tried to make a comeback with some fake thug 3rd rate West Coast style shit?  Fletcher looked like a 90s boy band member trying to get back on track with the same tactic with his yee yee ass haircut and bobo Tims.

This is so on-point and the kind of analysis we need more of here.

Miami picked up the options for Jaylen Waddle and Jaelen Phillips for next season.

Waddle's may convert to a regular contract extension soon, per reports.

Also, to quash that little rumor, the Dolphins have no plans to take a QB in the first round.  Negotiations with Tua are ongoing.

Maybe they can also pick up Jaylon Smith or Jaylon Johnson to add another spelling to the team? They've already got Jalen Ramsey.

I guess I'm in the minority that is actually looking forward to seeing Strong/O'Reilly.  Always enjoyed Strong in-ring, less so outside of it, but O'Reilly has always been a fun watch, though i really miss denim vest sporting NXT O'Reilly.  His match v Balor is still one of my favorite NXT matches of all time.

Strong is a guy I don’t look forward to watching or actively seek out, but then when I do see him wrestle, I always remember that he’s really fucking good at it.

  5. I usually watch in two chunks, too. When I watch live, it’s with a couple buddies who’ve worked in wrestling a while and know quite a few of the people in AEW personally, so there are lots of fun stories. Watched Revolution with them and it flew by.

My main issue with AEW PPVs is that there is very little downtime to go to the bathroom/get a snack/etc so I'm all for this match being right smack dab in the middle of the show.

I, personally, see that as a plus. I tried to sit through a couple WWE shows this year, and I swear on one of them (Rumble, maybe?) there was like 20 minutes between two matches with the video packages and commercials. That must suck live.

How was Collison and Battle of the Belts? Skipped it for UFC 300 which was fucking amazing.

Live, the Collision main was amazing. So was Athena/Red. Also think Shibata/Moriarty is worth checking out. Some great mat work in that one.

Really good crowd last night. We were really into everything except Rosa’s rambling promo. She got a nice pop when she came out, but that died off as she just kept going and going.

It's bad enough to have to tolerate iffy TV, but having to navigate a sea of scorching hot weirdo takes that insist on elevating "that sucked" to "(whatever the fuck this is)" makes everything so, so much worse.

This is about the 150th thing he’s claimed there’s “no coming back from”.

Now he’ll add a little sad face emoji reaction to this post.

He’s as predictable as he is annoying.

Got an almost 15% raise yesterday and we booked a house in Door County for our anniversary next month.  We're spending way too much, but we found a completely handicapped-accessible place that's right on the water and we had to jump at that.

Went to Door County with my wife's family a couple summers ago. I wasn't really all that stoked about going there, but ended up absolutely loving it. It's such a nice area.

  10. I don’t think I’d ever heard Cody’s full song until tonight. Holy shit is it bad. I’m shocked at how over he is. He’s just such a dork, but hey, it’s working for him.

That main was big and dumb, but it was well-done big and dumb.

And you know, I think that’s bullshit and don’t respect that he hooded back up. He made the decision, he lives with it.

I kind of wonder if Rey didn’t have much of a choice. I doubt him losing it in WCW was handled like it is in Mexico with a bigger payday, etc. He probably showed up to the building that day and found out he was booked to lose it.
