  1. “The biggest concern is holding the live crowd’s attention,” says Danielson. “It is very important to have statement moments scattered regularly throughout the match. Having just read two books by Cormac McCarthy, he’s a great study in minimalism when it comes to fiction. He has these incredible sentences that hit you right in the heart. We need those sprinkled throughout the match, and plot twists. Overall, it needs to be a compelling narrative where the live crowd feels it. I know, 100%, the matches before us are going to be outstanding. We’re going an hour, and we can’t have a stinker. This is the last match of the night.”

Leave it to Bryan Danielson to bring Cormac McCarthy into wrestling.

"When they made the deal with Logan Paul to do this angle, part of the deal was when the angle is over, he'd be a babyface. That was the idea. That was negotiated, that was negotiated in the deal," Meltzer said.

I don't know in what world either of the Paul brothers could be a babyface, they are both massive douches, perfect heels.

Why would such a series ever exist? There's no benefit to focusing on it, and no way their in-house mythmaking could sustain a full program on the subject. If anything, there might eventually be a footnote about how it was time to "freshen up" the brands or whatever when they eventually make focus pieces on some of the eventual success stories of the current wave of projects.

It was a joke, but I think the bigger story of the NXT Purge is the fall from grace of Triple H and that would make an interesting documentary down the road.

I wonder if they originally planned to have the deathmatch in TIAA and the NFL said "Uh, no?" Maybe the fire marshal limited what they could do in there? FWIW, Dailys Place has a fabric ceiling. Maybe the concern was anything larger could have gotten really bad, really quick... Just trying to make sense of this thing for the last three days

The stadium was setup for a monster truck rally on Sunday afternoon, which I'm sure was scheduled well before AEW decided on the date.

  5.  "Not to knock anyone with mental health issues" I can't speak for Mauro, but as someone with mental health issues, you have no idea what's going on in his head, you just assume his feeling were hurt and he should, essentially, suck it up. It's all speculation, but here is one scenario, Mauro is criticized publicly by someone he sat next to and worked with in NXT, someone he considered a friend, obviously that would be hurtful. I wouldn't be surprised if Mauro is someone who is overly critical of his own performance, maybe he sees truth in Corey's criticism and feels shame over it. He feels that in his current mental state he can't perform to the level that is expected of him and there's shame in that as well. One of the worst things about depression and anxiety is you think stuff that you know is wrong, unrealistic, but that doesn't make the feelings you have any less real, and it can be constant. So, just because something like this wouldn't affect you the same way, doesn't negate how it affects him and I hope people would have some compassion and empathy for him, I know I do.
