Between Stephie fixing sexism and Cody fixing racism, current-day WWE are actually the real progressives, that's what the people are saying. The blacks and the females come up to Paul Levesque, tears in their eyes, saying, "Thank you sir, you and Stephanie and Cody made sports entertainment great again."7 points

Apparently Tony Khan was asked about Brody and Hangman's "leftist views" or whatever the question was and Khan basically said "that's who these guys are and I want everyone in AEW to feel like their voice matters." I love this guy.5 points

Honestly, and this might be veering into "hot take territory," I wouldn't have Trish on there. I think she benefits from nostalgia and being a passable wrestler during a time that wasn't valued in the women. She was good. She worked hard. It's just that subsequent generations got a lot better.4 points

Anyways, I think AEW should definitely try to counter Saudi-Mania if the landscape is similar in 2027. Pretty sure WWE gets all the money from the Saudis up front, so they're not as worried about the gate or even the buys, but it's all about the good will towards the indies and fans that people pointed out earlier. They'd draw nicely on top of it, but playing the long game is the right move for AEW. They may never be more profitable than WWE, but positioning themselves as the "wrestling company that loves wrestling for fans that love wrestling" vs. WWE's "soulless corporation stripping the copper wiring and bleeding fans dry with no regard for product quality" is a good recipe for long-term stability. WWE is Subway and AEW can be (insert your favorite smaller national sandwich chain here). Some food chat should lighten things up again lol.4 points

Some more highlights from Wednesday night! One of my favorite pro wres experiences. So thankful for the friendships and connections that made it happen. Honestly, everything was good to very good to great. No "dog" segments. Didn't feel like a 3 hour show at all. Lashley and TOA was stiff, violent and we got up close and personal a few times. Bobby's hat was thrown to us, but unfortunately security deemed the hat to valuable to be taken home by a fan lol. The Bucks/GunnClub was so fun. Josh and Hechichero are such a great team. Riho waved at me! And got to give some love to Mox and Roddy. Freaking awesome match. Got to see my boy DG ringside too. Cant wait for ALL OUT!3 points

True, that is a good point and pretty much the reason I don't make "best of" lists and would rather have a "Favorites" list. But that's not good content.3 points

I wouldn't say it was a hot take. Trish was a pioneer helped by the likes of Victoria, Jazz, Molly Holly, Ivory under Fit Finlay's watch. You're right generations since has improved on what came before. Tongue in cheek, shouldn't Stephanie McMahon be there starting the Women's Revolution of 2015? ;).3 points

Charlotte would not be on my list. She's good but I think Bayley is better.3 points

What, you trying to get some of this hot fire, man? I still want to acquire that Spider-Man jacket that Wyclef was wearing in this sketch. Anyway, lists! If I'm listing the wrestlers that I think are the best, I'm going to be very English-speaking centric in my picks. I also have a hard time separating "favorite" from "best." I think, for example, Terry Funk and Rey Mysterio (Jr.) would be in my top five best wrestlers ever, but not in my top five favorite wrestlers (even though they'd both be top twenty, easily). And I wonder if Randy Savage should be in a list of the five best wrestlers ever (again, top twenty, easily in a "best of" list for me), but he's right at the top alongside Bret Hart in my personal favorites list. I will say that I'd park Bret Hart and Jim Breaks in both my five favorites list and my top-five ever list. I just wish we had more Stampede available so that I could move Bret as high up the best-ever list as I possibly could. Here's an offshoot question (that I'm sure we've answered before): Who do you feel would definitely end up climbing high on your "best" or "favorites" list if only you had more tape on them? I watched pretty much all the Lou Thesz I could find online, and I strongly believe that if the DuMont Network's archives were preserved, I'd probably have him way the hell up there on both my "best" and "favorites" lists. EDIT: Oh yeah, the reason that I wandered into this thread in the first place: Bash at the Beach '95 is on the WCW Watch Party stream right now, and even by WCW's extremely low standards for match finishes, this show has a shocking amount of awful finishes that look like shit, confuse the crowd, and completely blow up the matches that came before them (not that the matches are particularly good, for the most part).3 points

Look man, in near 30 year history of this message board, this is easily the 1093rd time we've done a "My Top Wrestler List" James3 points

That's a lot of "oh"s, Infinit haha Stat sounded kinda off but Hayter sounded frickin' weird, like I didn't know where she was going with that.3 points

Thekla is so awesome and my god did MVP wallop Ricochet. This was a fun show top to bottom and for those that care, it also did very well in the ratings.3 points

I kinda felt Stat was the wink link in the 3 way promo they did. Not bad but it was off. Still very interested in the match. I wonder if this is the time for Toni to lose. She'd be fine to take a few weeks off. I don't see any of the women in the match winning though. Maybe Hayter? I'm psyched for the Tail Gate Brawl. The women go wild in these things.3 points

As someone who’s been responsible for one or two “the fuck is he on about” moments on this board…. The fuck is he on about?2 points

Arguably, it’s not that different than real sports, where each generation usually gets bigger stronger faster. She’s Dr J before the modern women were MJ.2 points

At a certain point, you'd think fans would wake up to how much this company hates them. Or at least doesn't care about them.2 points

For what it's worth, at least the dumpster fire appears to be out. That said... if we lose the Jets next week... EVERYONE goes. Now, back to me making fun of all of you. Especially @Craig H2 points

This would be a big disservice to Toni and the women's division I think. A massive Stat turn is the only thing that seems worthy of ending Toni's run, and that's better suited for a singles situation with the 4-way serving as another "close not quite" moment for Stat to push her over the edge. When it comes to new frontiers for the women, having Stat become the championship centerpiece of a mostly male top stable would be quite interesting.2 points

I think it was just there in the Triller app. It'll be a sad day if and when Triller collapses because it's hard to run a viable business selling people GCW and Portugese football.2 points

I loved seeing Robyn Renegade back after six months, one of my favs and was a highlight whenever she'd show up throughout last year. Thekla/Aminata ruled. I'm hoping a 4 way isn't where Toni loses her title. All Out + 3 matches on the Tailgate looks great and stacked.2 points

Still doing the Sleepy Psycho gimmick. Besides her recent feud with Kendal, she had a program with Kylie Rae which included her stealing Kylie's son's teddy bear. On the women's side of Evolve, she's basically the roadblock that faces have to overcome before they go after the championship.2 points

I like that this is 6. Usually 5’s get me wiggling that I left someone off. Turns out, no matter the number I want to add more! GOAT 6: Bryan Danielson, Terry Funk, Negro Casas, Kenta Kobashi, Akira Hokuto, Mitsuhara Misawa I suggest another list topic: UNDER-TEN 6 (your favorite wrestlers when you were under the age of 10) Ken Shamrock, Mankind, The Rock, D’Lo Brown, Kane, Stone Cold2 points

Karate Kid: Legends - Look, I love the first 2 Karate Kid movies. Every Cinematic KK movie after those are only good if you wanna sit abd watch them with your friends to make fun of them. I really wanted Karate Kid Legends to be good, hell I'd settle for watchable. This movie is what it us, a cash grab. Cobra Kai made Karate Kid popular again so of course someone came along to make a quick buck. The actual fights are OK but kind of ruined by up close shots. Nothing ruins martial arts fight choreography quite like up close shaky cam. I want to see the combatants form and technique. I want to see the ebb and flow of the fight. The fact the story feels so damn generic doesn't help things at all. The worst of The Sister Street Fighter films is better than this. Hell, the whole KK animated series is better than this! I think Stat is going to win the belt by some sort of Yuta/Shaffir shenanigans, and we're going to get a Toni/Thekla feud coming out after this. Toni keeps getting attacked by the Triangle, and I don't think Thekla is established enough to take the belt off Toni. Something like The Triangle brawling with Toni & Hayter while Yuta helps Stat cheat. Then we get a proper Stat vs Willow program for the belt.1 point

There's probably worse positions to be in but I wish she was doing more, somewhere i watch. I don't think I've really watched any of her non-sleepy gimmick work, at least that I remember.1 point

TKO made the decision to not allow press or fans at the Saudi Arabia WrestleMania 43 announcement. They were reportedly concerned that fans would boo the announcement and thought there was a possibility that press would ask "real questions." (Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter) --- No shit, Sherlock. You know that saying "Heads will roll?" I had to stop myself saying that when it was leaked WrestleMania 43 was going there.1 point

Definitely late 90's, since I was spending hours in the college computer lab on the board. I remember times in the early 2000's when people would crazy spam movie spoilers (like for the second Matrix movie) and I think that's when they started requiring a login.1 point

In 1950, #12 Illinois shut out #19 Indiana, in the first time they ever played when both teams were ranked. 75 years later, they played their second ever ranked contest (also, coincidentally, the 75th all-time meeting between the two, which surprised me. I figured it would be over a hundred just from proximity and both being founding members of the Big Ten.)1 point

ANACONDA Starring Jack Black, Paul Rudd, and Thandiwe Newton(???)
