  1. Austin Aries was always one of my favorites in ROH. I remember the pop when he beat Joe for the world title. His attitude however left a lot to be desired. I remember another fan at an Edison, NJ show saying something to the effect of "Hey Aries, good match." Aries response, "Yeah, how would you know?" How about just taking the compliment instead of being a dick about it? For me, Aries is case of having to separate the art from the artist.

  2. A Playlist of the first 4 Mad Dog Connelly vs Manders matches: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJ7LOpSd29xpqNdg9-sxIrBdQJZ07Cf8s There's the Dog Collar match you should have seen already, and also a Texas Bullrope rematch in there.

  3. I think he was shooting a movie at some point too. I like Hook, probably more than most here. I think if AEW wants to really reach the female audience, guys like Hook, Nick Wayne, Jungle Boy and Fletcher are the way to go. And yes, this is me pushing for TK to bring back MatRats.

  4. Wow. Forgotten memory unlocked right there. That cereal WAS good! We drank out of McDonald's Smurfs glasses for years at my house. The collection of glassware from a fast food place marketing push for a movie needs to come back.

  5. ngl I'd laugh if TNA's authority figure was the first person from that group to win a WWE/NXT title

  6. I don't think we can use MLW as a serious example of anything in pro wrestling except being a money laundering front.

  7. Panini lost the WWE license for cards but they've picked up a license worth just as much: MLW. The first releases are some Panini Instants. I almost got an Ultimo Guerrero but the damn things are $25!

  8. Fully agreed on chants. Crowds bust out "Holy Shit" so often that it has no meaning. I'd rather see people just visibly losing it to cool spots.

  9. Yes! The worse the movie the better and more indestructible the glasses were, I'm looking at you Flintstones the movie glasses. We also had the famous McDonald's Garfield glasses and like most yinzer families the Steelers glasses that I think are 75% lead.

  10. Ozzy topped the NBC Nightly News. Political thievery had to settle for second.

  11. I feel no matter what tributes come in for Ozzy it just isn't nearly enough to properly encapsulate what he means to not just metal but music as a whole. I know for sure I won't come anywhere close to it and that's okay. But goddamnit Ozzy is one helluva motherfucker. I don't even want to use past tense as while I know his body passed Ozzy is forever in damn near everything you hear and will hear. So in turn Ozzy Osborne will live forever. RIP, Ozzy.

  13. Are the Smurfs even a thing to modern kids? Is there a new version now? A weird IP to resurrect. on my end, saw Superman finally after vacation. B/B+ in brief.

  14. I have a lot to say about Ozzy but can't at this time. I will however say I was there live in the corner of the nosebleeds and had no idea he was doing a song. But he did, I was delighted and I can officially say I saw Ozzy Osborne live.

  16. If we're talking wrestling, the Road Warriors using Iron Man as their music is probably the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b56iK4WNGr4

  17. RIP One of the greatest of all time. This one hurts for sure. So soon after the epic farewell concert. I heard they would make that in to a concert film next year, will definitely see that in theatre if so. I saw an Ozzy tribute band last year and it reminded me how much I loved so many of his solo songs. My youtube end of year stats had Ozzy as my #2 most listened to artist, this year will now probably be #1 as I'll be listening to all things Ozzy now.

  18. 1) The unknown singer in question was Lin-Manuel Miranda. The guy who made Hamilton, and did the music for a lot of movies like Moana. 2) Hollywood financials are notorious because they literally can make them say anything they want. Disney can say the Avengers has lost them money despite being the highest grossing movie franchise of all time. TV is no different. 3) It's simply a massive own goal for Paramount to cry poverty on one end and then hand out a literal 10 figure contract on the other side for guys to do 50 shows for 5 years. Doesn't even need to go into politics for that to be said too.

  20. Also, it's kind of unfair to complain about Jeff Hardy dancing; that dude is deested, he should be forgetting that he shouldn't be doing the dance and be fighting instead. Fits the character!

  21. NOT GUILTY! On this weeks trial. Client was facing 25 to life on an assault choking case. Jury came back in 35 minutes. Said there wasn’t any evidence. There wasn’t. First NG in that county all year.

  23. The Sandman episode this week was an interview with Kendra Lust of adult fame (I won't pretend everone knows who she is, lol) and it is a great listen. There are a shocking amount of similarities between the adult film industry and pro wrestling, though i won't spoil the conversation about the "blown finish" A must listen.

  26. I always thought MLW getting the lazy Davey Boy Smith Jr while All Japan gets the hard working version is kind of like Homer's half-assed non-parenting vs his half-assed parenting in that I don't know which one is actually scarier but I'm sure Harry would insist he's "using my whole ass!"

  27. What the hell was the actual planned finish of Saints/Jasper? Was the ramp breaking a botch or gimmicked? Separate note, I think it's time wrestling crowds ditched the profane chants. I get the occasional "Holy shit!" after a massive spot but, really, anything else is overkill. You're just going to get muted anyways. That Page promo was barely watchable. If I wanted to read lips, I'd get Kramer to help me.

  28. Cool fact that I only figured out roughly 100 hours in: The little tree-looking icon to the right of your inventory will show you the community center bundles. We did that thing again where we accidentally solved a Blue Prince puzzle without realizing it was a puzzle and then found all the clues to it later.

  29. Taichi and Zack making it into the "wild card round" to face off, with Taichi knocking ZSJ out (but not winning the G1, sorry folks), earning him a future title shot would be pretty satisfying to see play out.

  31. That first Smash Mouth cd isn't bad. The one with "All Star" is like the ultimate mini-van cd. And of course, "Shrek" is a top tier franchise that will never have another film, especially not one that has a really terrible looking trailer. Looking forward to Toni/Billie. And just want to issue a preemptive "R.I.P. In Peace" to Wheeler. I love watching him get fucked up.

  32. I saw Ozzy in 1996 on the Retirement Sucks tour with Filter and Prong as the openers. Think about that, we've been talking about Ozzy retiring for almost 30 years.

  34. AEW Timelines has a new upload, which is an 8 hour compilation of Hangman's redemption, starting with Swerve breaking into Hangman's house all the way to All In this year. Mostly full matches for the big ones IE Texas Death versus Swerve, triple threat at Revolution, etc. Complete segments obviously too.

  36. IMO I still think the craziest thing Ozzy was ever involved in was that insane lawsuit over Suicide Solution. It was being portrayed as a call from Satan to kill yourself when it was explicitly about the dangers of drugs and could've been used as the anthem of the DARE campaign.

  38. Exactly this. Want to kill a project you don't like or it's inconvenient for whatever purposes you have? Slide your losses into that project, say "it's losing money, we gotta cancel it", bingo bango it's gone.

  39. IMO if you expect any of these corporations to be crying poor and really be poor you're a fool. They're monoliths -- unless you're the last major company to declare bankruptcy, which Colbert brought up last night, which is Red Lobster.

  40. ???? When have Colbert or Kimmel come out and said "they hate their audience"? The right is going to attack anything pop culture wise that isn't punching down or praising Trump, even back in the day that Rush Limbo would cry about Carson and Letterman being too liberal and hating on his side.

  41. now i want to see a wrestler just sprint down to the ring and his entrance music starts when he's already halfway down. Only for a second wrestler to come barreling out of the tunnel, and HIS music doesn't start until too late. Then two more, and we get a camera on gorilla position music person, who is just frantic and exasperated trying to cue up these themes but he's overwhelmed by the number and frequency of wrestlers running by.

  42. My memory was muddled of that because I don't think that's so bad. Jeff's music hits, he runs out, he's still hopping down the ramp doing his hand thing twice, and then goes from a gallop to the ring back to running again. He's out and in and it's probably 10 seconds. There's some humor there, but it's not egregious and nowhere near as silly as I remembered. Cope and Penta are the biggest offenders. Cena is also terrible because 1) that motherfucker RARELY came out to help the faces and 2) if he did, he's doing all of the usual Cena horseshit.

  43. They finally let somebody who likes Superman make a Superman movie again. I'm so incredibly happy about this movie that I'm probably downplaying actual flaws because it was such an incredible blend of original 1930s Superman, Silver Age Superman, and Post-Crisis Superman and it didn't decide to make The Big Blue Boy Scout into a miserable prick.

  45. Yeah, it’s been great. I’d never seen the Sami Callahan/Danny Havoc match they talked about in the CZW episode, and it’s fucking great. I also liked hearing some love for IWAMS. We all know the stories about Ian, but damn that promotion has put out some amazing stuff over the years. One gripe: we need a new episode! Dammit, Schneider! I know you’ve been around here lately. Get on it, man!

  48. 15 Minute Big Japan Pro Wrestling highlight music video I just made. For the sickos. (Blacklisted off Dailymotion and YouTube asap LMAO I hate Samurai TV) https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_wbwF7o ... BiNWFlZA== Watch it on my instagram for now until I find somewhere that won't take it down immediately, and follow my account for more BJW posts It spans 1995-2009, was gonna include 2010-2012 and cut off before the switch to Widescreen late in 2012 but I kept making the video longer and had like 40 hours of clipped footage to work with so I had to reign myself in. 2010-2012 highlight will come one day, and 2013-current will require me to seek out and buy a ton of shit I don't have so that may be years. But I wanted to document my favorite era from my favorite company a bit. Thought it would be fun to edit a video again as I haven't done it since 2012 and video editing software had gotten a lot better. Didn't realize the kind of project it would turn in to for my autistic ass. Was fun to go through my hard drive and skim through years of stuff and get sucked in to a lot of the stuff I forgot about. If anyone wants I have maybe 80% of the Big Japan worth seeing in ISO files from 1998-2010 plus a lot of 2011-2012, and a ton of 2013-modern as downloads that I can copy onto a hard drive for a small price, I am in a hard spot financially and would be happy to make a great deal. Also have some old Dragon Gate, M Pro, Zero one, IWS compilations, etc.
