I agree, but to repeat a frequent complaint: War Games and Hell in a Cell shouldn't be gimmick PPVs. They should pop up when a storyline calls for them. Then just make sure the men and women get about the same number in the long run and you're fine.

Brody is very well protected, but Kingston is one of hte 2 favorites in his block in a booking perspective. It's also 100% the right call to put him behind early. Makes the Kingston/Danielson match being next really interesting, my gut says that one might be a draw.

Just to be clear: The bald guy flexing for the camera during Lady Frost vs Julia Hat was NOT me. I have a ton of thoughts and a zillion crappy dad jokes. For example: ALWAYS great to see Rocky! SO much *WRESTLING* on this show! (Hook, Shibata, Garcia, Wheerler...) And so many good big meaty men (Dutch, Brody King, Big Bill, Limitless...) The return of Malakai's perfect sing-a-long theme!!! Surprised to see the Pure title change hands on Rampage, especially so close to Final Battle. the video promo from Yuta before it was really good and set the stage for the match nicely. liked Copeland's promo challenging Christian for Montreal next week. Malakai Black mentioned CM Punk and called Claudio "Cesaro" !! Dante Martin is BACK! Lee vs. Lee was fun. Great main event from Brody vs. Eddie. Good thing for Eddie it wasn't 'defending the titles in each of his matches' Next week we get Moxley/Lethal, White/Swerve, and Briscoe/Rush on Dynamite + Bryan/Kingston, Claudio/Brody, and Garcia/Andrade on Collision.

I tuned into Rampage before switching over to Survivor Series. Romero is still a great utility guy and had one of Hook's longer matches. Statlander/Diamante was really good and set up Kris' next program with Mercedes Martinez, which should be good. Yuta won the pure title again in a nice outing with Shibata so that's one BCC guy with gold.

They made a huge miscalculation when making this game (besides the dev time likely taking a year-plus longer than intended): they somewhat wisely realized they could only get the base of something worthwhile done for the first game; the issue is that they mistakenly believed they could deal with that as DLC and in truth they never will, the game needs a sequel and any effort spent on DLC for a dying (as a long tail experience) game is reducing the chance that said game ever gets made. Release some character packs but all real development needs to be spent on a full new release built entirely atop of what's been established, it is literally the only path to where everyone wants things to get.

I would think no way Orton turns that soon after Drew just turned, especially coming back to a likely monster babyface pop after so much time away. I thought the setup/build for the first 3 or so Chambers was really great. the original 2002 being one of my all time fav PPV hype videos to Saliva's "Always", 2003 being great, and 2005 having both the chaos of the world title scene plus not doing one in 2004 upped the special feel to it. Also liked that at this point, all three were on different events so it wasn't just that time of year. I was interested to see it, but Carlito got pulled and replaced by Dragon Lee.

Never Say Never Again, on the bright side, according to 14 year old me, has in particular order: the cool video game showdown, Rowan Atkinson, Bernie Casey and Kim Basinger.

Street Profits vs. Judgement Day was pretty solid. Profits lost kind of clean in the end. Was not happy with this result. The Street Profits either needed the win or needed to not be in this match. The Waller Effect leading into Grayson/Theory vs. Owens/Knight was all pretty fun. Carlito's segment and the subsequent brawl with Santos was nice and probably the perfect length. Dug the further attack after the commercial with Dragon lee making the save. Not big on them cutting out a match match just a day before a PLE/PPV, but Dragon Lee is a welcome upgrade over Carlito. The match with Santos should be good, jus tnot sure who gets the win. Pretty Deadly vs. Brawling Brutes was nice while it lasted, but it served mostly as a moment for Ridge to break away from Dunne. Still don't think either have great prospects on their own on the main roster, but I am curious to see what they at least try to do with the two. Dug the story of the night being Becky and Charlotte's rocky relationship. Bianca playing peacekeeper with Becky was nice, but I kind of dug Shotzi going for the more emotional touch in trying to get Charlotte to understand Becky's feelings. Becky/Charlotte vs. Bayley/Asuka was solid and played well into the potential issues of Bianca's team with the accidental screw up from Charlotte at the end. The wrestling was solid and fun. The segment s were pretty nice and did well building up Survivor Series for tomorrow and continuing general Smackdown stories.

I bought this game's Elite Edition for my nephew upon release (for PC). A few weeks back he finally showed it to me and I was actually embarrased that I had basically forced that abomination upon him. I mean, he never has to play it if he doesn't want to but still that was not cool. Also, there were zero other players online when he showed it to me. I don't play games, my nephew is not a wrestling fan, there was nothing but the aforementioned goodwill that made me buy that game for him. There were no winners in this one, except for AEW for the short term, in a good old "fuck you, we got your money"-sense, even if it wasn't their intention.

Agreed; had the same thought the other day. Danielson/Okada is probably the co-main, at worst would be third from the top of the card unless New Japan decides the Jr. Heavy and whatever the Ospreay/Mox/Finlay title match is would be more important. I realize that New Japan technically needs AEW more than AEW needs New Japan, but if I'm in charge at NJPW or Bushiroad, I'm at least a little peeved that AEW is potentially jeopardizing a marquee matchup in the biggest puroresu event of the year...that had already been announced. Unless the plan is for Danielson to win the tournament and the "American Triple Crown" and defend it (and probably lose it to) Okada, it doesn't make sense and is a huge gamble. It's almost too ridiculous to even consider.
