  1. ALSO, if they did sign Renee, they should have her come out as a surprise with a Tron and everything to open the show and welcome everyone. I bet she'd get a colossal Saraya level pop in Canada.

  6. I may be the only fan of Bray Wyatt in these parts. But I think The Wyatt Family stuff and the stuff before The Fiend was both incredible and a big missed opportunity at once. I don't understand the talk about Bray not being a good worker. I've said it a bunch of times before, but just a reminder: The Wyatts/Shield from Eliminator Chamber 2014 is my all-time favorite match. I'm not alone in giving that match an insane amount of praise. And while it's far from a one-man show, Bray's character work in that match - the look of awe when Roman is powering out of his Sister Abigail at the end, for example - is just at another level. All of their rematches were great, too. Bray/DB at that Royal Rumble was my favorite DB match during his big run. Also, the legendary segment where Bryan did the YES! chant on top of the cage was when he infiltrated The Wyatts and turned on them. You don't get that big a reaction without a really awesome antagonist. Bray/Cena had their dud of a supernatural WrestleMania match but the Last Man Standing match where Bray ate the ring steps that were being thrown into his face from the ring was awesome. Bray/Jericho had some bangers, including the cage match on Raw where Bray slammed the door in his face when he left in triumph. There were all sorts of WWE Dragon Gate thrillers with The Wyatts versus whoever on Raw and Smackdown during that time, too. I wasn't into The Fiend stuff at all. The mask and presentation was awesome. In-ring it took away from what Bray does best (over-the-top histrionics). The stuff with the kids show wasn't for me. But all of that from Extreme Rules was just really incredible. The pop was insane.

  7. Derp. Screening went well. Mostly friends and family but it was a success in my eyes due to a few randoms wandered in. Got drinks and derp afterwards. Here’s a few pics that were taken: Good fun. I’ll likely do more screenings in the future as I build up my filmography.

  8. Sorry I'm late! I had to wash dishes and then I had to take a shower and take out the garbage! Now I'm ready for some Elevation ACTION! It's Hikaru Shida! It's Erica Leigh! Leigh looked good, enhancement-wise. It's Lance Archer. Where have I seen Papadon? Papadon gets some stuff in. I'm so glad Daddy Magic is back. That was good. Oh awesome. Trish Adora! It's Emi Sakura! Emi likes to tell a little story. And she does! Trish gets in wads of stuff including an EVEREST Northern Lights Suplex! Emi crushes her with two backbreakers and gets the pin! A LITTLE STORY! Trish looked great. Awesome! Action Andretti! He gets to get killed by Josh Woods. Tony Nese is a HEAT MACHINE! Daddy Magic puts Scumbag Ian in his place. Andretti and Nese go all World Of Sport! Andretti looks great in this. That was good. It's Jordan Blade from Richmond, VA! Vickie is awesome. Blade takes Nyla's finisher like a champ. Dalton Castle and the Boys! I love the Boys Auxillary! LET'S GO BREAK SOME HEARTS! This match is great. Wet Bret Waters grosses out Dalton. Castle is fucking awesome. Bang-A-Rang! The Boys spin with him. El Serpentico! Brandon Cutler! Okay, this is the greatest match in the history of Elevation. CUTLER WITH THE VERTICAL SUPLEX! SERP gets nothing in! 14. I'd love to see a wrestler do a "belt collector" gimmick, only instead of winning matches he or she obtains the belts through eBay auctions, finding them in the trash, buying one at the dollar store, etc.

  16. TUMBBAD (Rahi Anil Barve, 2018) IMDB ROTTEN TOMATOES SELECTED BY RIPPA I found Tumbbad on several "Top Underrated Horror Movies to Stream" lists. (It is on Amazon Prime). I mean you don't really expect to see the words Hindi-language period horror film. It is also under an hour and 45 minutes, so it instantly gets my seal of approval. There are a lot of memorable visuals (though the most memorable might have nothing to actually do with the movie at all.) Side note - it wasn't my first choice for selection but more on that at another time. TEASE~! REVIEWED BY @Curt McGirt Whoa. This one is a corker. I've seen few films as visually sumptuous as this in awhile, not to mention as tightly wound while at the same time languid. I mean it is an hour 45, but once it puts the hooks in (and it does that early) it's got you. And there are a few things to "get" you in this one, in more ways than one. The film opens with what appears to be a mythological tale, and in retrospect reveals a lot of stuff but you don't have to remember a bit because when you recognize the callbacks you'll love it. Vinayak is a child in pre-revolution India out in a dire village called Tumbbad. It always rains there and basically what we have is a haunted village, which has an ancient geezer living there with his daughter, Vinayak and his brother and their grandmother. We open to Mom masturbating the old goat which is pretty gross. Clearly she's impoverished and desperate to take the kids and leave, and finally gets the chance to after he croaks. Unfortunately, there is a legend about an ancient treasure hidden in the definitely haunted mansion in the haunted village that he owned. Vinayak is, to a tee, a sociopath, even at a young age. He's a liar and his personality is encapsulated by greed, which even he admits too later -- that he doesn't have a single good personality trait (tellingly, the smile and look in his eyes on his adult face are so crooked you'd have to beat them straight with a hammer). Anyway, the family manages to escape after some extremely intense scares involving great practical effects and a theme in this film, the constant fluctuation of light, with constant rain and smoke and great darknesses shot through with flame. There is no fluorescent in this film, and in fact barely any sun. Nobody has electricity, it's backwater India FFS. That's the first of three parts. Second is Vinayak returning to seek the fortune in the mansion whereupon he seems to claim it. Third and finally we see him grooming his son to take on the family fortune and the responsibilities that entail. Can't give away any more than that. At its essence the film is a parable about greed and the suffering that follows in its wake. Vinayak is a callous operator, owing money to the local landshark before coming into his sudden riches. He beats women and children and seems like such an utter sleaze, but you can't help but watch him and try to unlock the puzzle of his treasure and what's really going on. There also is a puzzle at the core (literal core) of the film as well and it's quite interesting and almost like a fairytale in and of itself. The Big Bad down there is represented with some excellent CGI that's as gross as the real stuff on display, so gore fans are thoroughly represented. Trust me, some of the stuff in here is repulsive as hell. And along with that the focus is mainly the slow unraveling of the story and the bleak, scary isolation of the pre- and post-Gandhi India in which this takes place, full of beauty but also deep, deep horror. EDITOR'S NOTE YES! Curt brought up the image I mentioned! Good Lord... I almost didn't get past the goat masturbation. There is supposedly a sequel in the works but who knows if/when that will happen

  18. Me and @Eivion are the only people to vote for Stuka Jr./Atlantis Jr.? That one is so good. Atlantis is a king sized bumper, doing a back flip over the rail on an Irish whip (which is totally logical and nobody ever does), completely nuking his kidney and hip on the rail on a dive. All the dives are king sized themselves and just gorgeous. Best ones were probably from Atlantis again with his beautiful tope con giro and the stage-dive over the ropes plancha that was like some kid just clearing the head of a Samoan bouncer at some giant DK's show in Cali circa '84. The crowd is losing their shit the whole time and definitely pro-Stuka. The finish is brilliantly simple -- both guys retrying what they think is gonna finish the other off. And then at the end Heavy emotion is what you need in a mask match if you aren't getting blood and they nailed it. The suspense of every nearfall sealed the deal. My runner-up was probably Maclin/Moose; I thought Maclin was just gonna be some guy but his performance sold me on him, plus he will bleed hardway like a stuck pig. The Dynamite matches were all good but they didn't surprise me like that one did. Jarochita/Isis was marred by a terrible finish, though the ladies put on a clinic in cardio out there.

  22. I mean everyone talking about Rousey, Liv looked absolutely dreadful in that match and I feel she was given her chance with the belt and proved that she's just not that good. She's got some presence but is a poor promo and in-ring is always a mess, Rousey should not be given a mic ever but is otherwise generally comfortably better than Liv. I get that Liv is likable and tries and that's enough to keep her around, but she's clearly not equipped to be used at this level.

  30. The exact opposite scene from that of Mom jerking off her father in law is the one where her and the two brothers are running up the hill and they reach the summit with this camera sweep from above. The scenery is so lush and beautiful, if it were lit with actual sun it would be like a drone shot of an Irish hillside or something from Lord of the Rings, but it's muted. The lighting keeps the beauty inside. It has a brilliant effect. It took them years to make Tumbbad and I hope the sequel never comes to be to be perfectly honest. The writer/director first came up with the story in 1993 when he was 18 and it took him shootings, re-shootings, and the development of new technology to make it. I'd rather it stay as a diamond in the rough and see what Mr. Barve can come up with instead.

  33. Cutler, nakazawa, buck all came back after one week. They were determined to have no part in the fighting and were just trying to break things up. Total silence on everyone else. I hope Kenny gets his moment in Canada, that would be super lame for him to miss it if he was relatively innocent in all this. Perhaps he wasn’t.
