  1. Hello, thank you for calling Ringside customer service, how can I help you? Well, I ordered AEW Unrivaled Series 5... And has you order arrived, sir? Well, not exactly. I mean, an order arrived. Sir? I have the box in my hands right now. I'm looking in the box. And do you see the figures you ordered? No. I see six Frankie Kazarians. DO YA?!?!?!

  2. I figured anyone who would buy this book wouldn't need their hand held through professional wrestling. I tried to be pretty informative and go into historical detail, but I no one needed me to tell them what a babyface and a heel was. I also tried to be mostly positive, this was a love letter to pro-wrestling, and while I occasionally took a shot or two, this was about greatness in many forms, and no one needed another book full of snark.

  3. This is gonna sound weird and bad, but I actually have some empathy toward Swann because of what I have heard him say about his childhood in shoot interview stuff - he's a victim of the cycle of abuse himself. If he's legitimately doing the work to improve as a person, and Su's standing by him (God bless her) who am I to say 'lets throw him in the trash' just because he had the absolute worst kind of shit modeled for him as a kid and did the statistically likely thing? Now, if he KEPT doing it, that's on him 100%, and that's a different conversation entirely. Velveteen, on the other hand, instead of having any kind of remorse or doing any kind of self-reflection, seems to get worse the more we hear (grooming! Schamberger! Pee tapes??) Apples and oranges.

  5. One more for the bingo card [Bryan heaps praise on a match, typically by saying "I. Thought. This. Match. Was... AWESOME" [silence] [Dave says "...it was a good match!", with little apparent enthusiasm]

  6. In an industry that sometimes feels like it's been taken over by the people who think Shawn Michaels is the GOAT, I'm glad Serena Deeb is flying the Bret flag Is anyone else doing that kind of detail-heavy, technical with a vicious streak thing at the moment? There's definitely a shortage of it in AEW

  7. Atlanta beat Pittsburgh 20-1 The Braves his 7 HRs including 2 Grand Slams. (Supposedly they are the first team to hit 7 or more HRs in a game that included 2 Grand Slams) Trailing 12-0, the Pirates put infielder Wilmer Difo on the mound in the bottom of the 8th. He gave up 8 runs Amazingly Brian Snitker didn't scream at his team and call them unprofessional EDIT And for a direct example of how a situation should be handled, Ronald Acuna Jr tried to bat left handed which Snitker nipped in the bud And then joked about it afterwards

  8. We had a hamster named Milk (ミルク) and he was a really good hamster and since little ミルク passed away, every time we go out shopping my girls have begged their mom to let them buy a new hamster. She finally gave in last week, and I am happy to report that little Mocha (モカ) seems seems to also be a very good hamster. He is already very friendly and curious, not at all shy or afraid of my daughters or me, happily goes into his little house when it's time to clean the cage... and he looks like a little penguin.

  11. In regards to this - I think it was clear Lawrence wasn't answering "unknown" numbers because as soon as they called from Urban's phone he answered with "What's Up Coach?" so he clearly had Meyer in his contacts Now why there isn't some sort of system where the NFL says "You only call draftees from this phone" and then give prospects a list of all 32 numbers is beyond me.

  18. Norton was the absolute showstealer. I'm not sure if Bischoff was ignorant or full of shit in this episode. It was a good episode, better than the Nick Gage one, which I was somewhat disappointed with.

  20. Kudos, I’d make a decent ‘Before’ version of you lol. You guys have inspired me to get back on the wagon with the fitness. Consistency is my issue, as I’ll be in ‘working towards something’ mode for several weeks then I’ll reach a point where an hour of doing something else is more precious than training, then fall off the wagon and repeat again when I get to the point of feeling like ‘2kg of yoghurt in a 1kg bag’. Being 5’11’’ with a slim frame and 170lb at my absolute heaviest, it’s more varying degrees of skinny-fat than obese per se but still feels like shit. I tend to do variations of the Convict Conditioning with a bit of free weights and stop soda/ chips/chocolate/cookies and that’s enough to get trim and defined but putting on muscle has always been a real chore for me so pretty much gave up in my 20s (37 now). Anyhoo, I’ll watch from the sidelines impressed by @El Gran Gordi videos and the rest.

  23. I always thought Dream was talented too. I just figured there was no way he was ever getting called up because Vince would never get the gimmick or if he did, he would make him go off the rails with the androgyny. Allegations aside, I think at some point he really started being The Velveteen Dream. Like he was living that gimmick 24/7 and at some point it stopped being a gimmick.

  24. I really wanted to touch on as many different eras and styles as I could, and try to intro new cool matches to people that hadn't heard of them. Honestly I had a bunch of matches which I clearly forgot, or tried to add too late (Chris was faster on the art then I was with the writing), it was never meant to be the 100 greatest bloody matches, more like 100 of the greatest, so I wasn't too upset at making it super comprehensive. It's a snapshot of neat shit.

  33. You got to be forthright, Casey. Not only was it Bull Nakano, but the clip was Toyota taking that crazy Marty Jannetty/Rikishi inside out 360 bump on her neck off a clothesline she always did. If you never saw that before, you would be pretty freaked out because you just saw someone die.

  35. It's rainy season here where I live so the humidity is high now and will remain high until mid-October, most likely. It gets hot here in the summer, too. Not just "hot for a Canadian" but 35°C+ (about 95°F+) every day for weeks on end, with high humidity every day as well. Muggy. One of the best pieces of advice I received on moving here was "Summers are not too bad if you can get used to being sweaty." I own lots of quick-dry fibre type shirts now. I have strategies for coping. I got my first real sweat out of the way last night. Hit the gym after work. Kettlebell pullover goblet squats, hand-to-hand kettlebell swigs, running the rack on dumbbell clean and presses. When I took off my quick dry shirt and stood in front of the fan, the sweat just started pouring out of me. It literally got to the point where my towel could not absorb any more. I changed into a cotton shirt for the 10-minute walk home and it was soaked through by the time I arrived back here. It's still kinda damp now. Sweat kept cascading out of my pores for almost an hour. Mixed up a shake in my biggest shaker bottle, downed it, then filled it up with water and drank the dregs. After much though, deliberation, and research (and mainly due to this article from the often-excellent T-Nation site) I have decided to add collagen to my supplement regimen. I'll try it for a couple of months and see if my joints feel any less creaky.

  38. I don't know if anyone really cares but you guys seem to like this stuff. I've started posting cool pictures from newspaper articles I'm looking through on my Twitter @stevesgraps. I'm working on a book and if I see some cool pics I've been sharing them. Mostly stuff from the 60s and prior but still. I figured some of you might like this kind of stuff.

  40. Jungle Boy winning the Battle Royale and then losing the title match would be a nice next step for him though. Obvious winner is Christian and not really much else. I'm fine with that. Just give me and extended period of Jungle Boy and Christian as the last two.
