  1. I'm torn because I want that tag match to get some time and be fantastic - but I also expect it to just be a vehicle to get to a match at the PPV between the teams.
  2. I rented this when I was probably 8 or 9 years old, and the final scene of the movie is Sheik cutting the promo about having the match on top of Cobo Hall or something, right? Well they didn't show whatever match Sheik was promoting and I was super pissed about not getting the payoff.
  3. Thank you so much for sharing these. I've been listening to these for the past month and I forgot how much fun we had just bullshitting about what we were watching and didn't watch what we were supposed to watch. DEAN laughing after everything he'd say just fills my heart, and me busting his balls over losing the New Japan set while rearranging his bedroom made me laugh thirteen years later. And that Miranda Lambert song is still a banger. "They're learning each other's language." "That's what they're calling it these days?"
  4. Been reading some old DVDVR's and DEAN had some good hunches. DVDVR Issue #5 "Flex Kavana was in the Power Spotlight and he seems like he will be impressive after a while." Gonna get into that podcast momentarily.
  5. I'm in the same boat. This thread brought joy to my heart just seeing us reminisce about DEAN~! and it got me to sit down and watch some New Japan the other day because if the big guy was gonna sit in front of his laptop and engage with as much pro wrestling as he could while he was with us, I should be able to do the same and consider it a life well lived.
  6. I'm fucking heartbroken. DEAN was such a joy on these message boards and his writing, and just how happy he was to talk about wrestling with anyone. I aspired to have that kind of love for pro wrestling in my own life. I'm sorry if this is rambly, I just audibly yelled fuck when I saw the news, I'm gonna try and go find a podcast so I can hear him talk about Dick Murdoch's punches or something. Go tell someone you love them.
  7. Yep. This just did me in. All the prayers in the world for the big guy. I spoke with DEAN a fair amount back probably 10-12 years ago, and I recall when we'd all grab stuff off MegaUpload which was the cool file sharing program at the time and I wasn't sure what I wanted to check out one night, so DEAN uploaded a dozen obscure lucha matches in a folder for me. I'd read those DVDVR's and it introduced me to an entirely new world of wrestling. I think I called into those BlogSpotRadio shows a few times and had to tell my drunk mother to keep it down so I could chat wrestling with DEAN and the boys. Feeling hopeful, and the GFM is at almost 19k right now. The outpouring of support is one of the best things I've seen.
  8. Howdy y'all, just thought I'd bring this to the attention of people. I've tried to access a few links on deathvalleydriver.com to read through some older issues, and I keep getting this pop up from my anti-virus extension. Am I the only one with this issue? (edit: apparently I can't post pictures) Detected at: 2023-01-22 12:06:34 AM Web address: http://deathvalleydriver.com/dvdvr/ Reason: object is infected HEUR: Trojan Script Generic Sorry if this has already been discussed.
  9. I think that Umaga/Cena might be one of JR's top 5 performances.
  10. Not to open a can of worms... Highest rated match in history? 6.25 Stars from Meltz.
  11. So.... anything being worked on?? Joshi? Canada? NWA?
  12. Saw something about a fan was kicked out of SD tonight for having a "JBL Bullied Me" sign? Can anyone confirm?
  13. The last 25 minutes of the PPV are the best thing they've done in years.
  14. The Miz is single-handedly carrying Talking Smack. I love every minute of it.
