I’m in this shit for the matches and the long-term booking. One of those things is still happening I suppose.

Hope to be eating my words soon, but Tony seems like he has lost the plot. Some legit bad injury luck leading to forbidden door I get it, but erratic booking is a nice way of putting it.

Why are they having a FTR/Wardlaw vs. Lethal/MCMGs trios match on a show where they are crowning a trios champion in another match?

Show tonight was fine. You can see there is a general sense of disorganization right now because of either injury or drama or both. It happens.

I wanted #FTR vs. Young Bucks for all the tag team titles or #FTR vs. Keith Lee/Swerve Strickland for the AEW Tag Team Championship at AEW All Out.

If the Bucks and FTR are gonna keep dick-measuring and insisting they're each the best, it's only fair they both get to work the same match format for comparison purposes. This match is taking place for science.

Will Ospreay is fucking ON FIRE in AEW.  Him versus Kenny Omega should be the match of the year.

Maybe at the Tokyo Dome. Either way it'll rule and I really want Omega to win even though he probably won't. Then again if NJPW can't do the right thing with Ospreay why should AEW?

I was disappointed we didn't get the match we had hoped for but chaos is fun and not knowing where things are going is awesome. Just maybe don't do it a week and a half before a ppv?

Tony books like how I studied for science exams in school.

Mom: Don’t you have a test coming up?

Me: It’s not until September 4th….

*looks at calendar *

Me: fuuuuck

He won't hit "fuuuuck" until next Wednesday. And even then, Rampage is live next week so he'll have another couple days to figure it out. It'll be fine!

I was really anticipating more people actively despising this show, even though I assumed most people wouldn't hate the main event as much as I did.

Re: the ppv, *if* they have a plan for the title and what Moxley's doing at the ppv, I think it was pretty ballsy (and not in a good way) to end the show without even hinting at either a rematch or a new contender. Especially given their severe ratings dip lately it feels a bit like playing with fire to book so erratically so close to a big ppv. Unless Forbidden Door has given Tony the questionable but maybe long-term good idea of booking every ppv heavily around outside talent (in this case, MCMG and Monty Python's Trios Twits).

Rather than ballsy, closing the show with no plan in place for the world title at All Out, if they are going to do something with it at All Out, is absolutely moronic, late WCW Bischoff levels/Crazy Old Man Vinnie Mac/Vince Russo level bad booking.

Like where the hell is Hangman Page even?

Other things:

* Having Kip Sabian target PAC just feels out of nowhere. Especially since Sabian has been off TV so long and has been doing this box thing on Twitter for seemingly ever. I don't get why tonight and why PAC.

* Revealing MCMG and not even having them in the arena like that was lame. Felt like an underwhelming reveal.

Just an oddly executed oddly paced show.

Not sure what to make of the main event title scene. AEW All Out looks like an absolute mess. I would've held off on Jericho vs. Moxley for the pay-per-view in this case and this was the outcome.

Like All Out is less than two weeks and they have no world title match. I mean if the plan is not to have a world title match at the event and make the trios match the main event OK. Technically, you don't have to have a world title match at every PPV. But I'm still confused about where we are going here.

My immediate thought is Punk isn't healed and he never was, and this was just a way to get the title off of him. So maybe all the backstage BS is worked. I remember reading that Punk's foot was "shattered." He probably needs another several months.

Creating interim titles is BS. Just vacate the title. This isn't UFC.

Main event was fun, but it does feel like AEW has significantly cooled off. I just get the sense that the pressure has gotten to Tony Khan and he's starting to panic. Some of these shows feel like panic booking.

I think that's what we'll get. Agree with you on Interim as well.

There is an awful lot of main event calibre guys without a match at All Out so far. Are we also getting Sting/Darby/Miro vs. House of Black? Jade vs. Athena? Is Claudio in the ladder match? Is Page really chilling w the DO as a cheerleader? MJF where are yooouuu? So many questions. I would appreciate MJF winning the ladder match. No Andrade or Roosh?

They showed footage of Pac's international defenses of the All Atlantic title on Dark and that's where it started the angle. Then interaction with Penelope Ford on Dark, then mentioned on commentary on her Rampage match. They've been putting it out there.

So if it's not a Punk rematch, who could realistically come in to face Mox for the title on short notice?

Hangman could do it but his issue is with Punk more than Mox.

Any "Forbidden Door" options if Mox puts out an open challenge?

I don't watch AEW Dark.

From a story perspective I truly don’t understand what they are doing. We are getting both Punk and Omega doing back to soon gimmicks at the same time?

If Punk isn’t actually ready to be back why bring him back at all? Save that title unification match in the back pocket for when it counts. What sense does it make to have a big question mark for the main event of your PPV 2 weeks out?

They booked around their highest-paid wrestler/World Champion having an injury that either was or wasn't going to be healed in time for a PPV in his hometown. And it didn't heal. They wanted to move on and certainly didn't want to have a situation with two interim titles.

After the MJF thing the AEW fanbase has become so lost in the weeds fantasizing about worked shoots and shot works and everything betwixt. Since RAW stopped being awful, sub-dirtsheet targeted-advertising-on-your-social-media gossip mills have realized "AEW Is Doomed!" articles get clicks.

But for fucks sake people, please apply Occam's Razor. Apply his Butter Knife. Apply his Chainsaw. This is not some convoluted 4D booking chess or the result of some hyperpolitical Machiavellian backstage plot. The likeliest answer is that Punk's foot didn't heal in time for a PPV and now they're winging it.

Eddie Kingston (Mox wanting to give his best friend an opportunity), Miro, Lance Archer, Adam Page off the top of my head coming up to four in the morning UK time. Has Mox/Miro ever been done in AEW?

PAC confronted Kip after defeating Connor Mills in RevPro on one of the Dark shows. PAC had to answer for his disrespect.

Edit: Nevermind, someone beat me to it.

Well, now you know if you want to watch to see what led to it, you know where to look. Figured I'd give a heads up. They've been progressing quite a few stories that we've been seeing unfolding on Rampages lately.

If this was because Tony Khan realizes Interim Titles suck and are stupid, then they shouldn't have created an interim title situation in the first place. Even Excalibur couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Agreed (hence "ballsy and not in a good way"). I also feel like Tony might channel Heyman and have MJF as the Joker in the casino ladder thing, win, and then challenge Moxley at the end of the show and win the belt. At which point they may as well just come up with their own money in the bank deal and call it "cashing in your chips" or something.

I would prefer MCMG vs FTR in a straight up tag but I'll take the 6-man if they're offering.

Title match was great, love a good squash. Especially if it's for the World Title. Dunno if this reaches Vader/Sting or Lesnar/Cena levels but loved Mox twisting the ankle at the same time as doing the hammer and anvil elbows. Brutal. Curious who will challenge Mox at All Out.

I saw someone on Twitter say that the Garcia storyline is basically a coming out story, and I'm here for it. Nobody does "Acts cocky just to cover up his insecurities" quite as good as Garcia.

Bummed about Rosa, any word on how/when she got hurt? Part of me hopes this is a storyline and she's faking the injury to duck Storm, I think you could get some mileage out of that, but even if that would make a good story I think IT'S HAYTER TIME!

Skipped the main, I don't need 30 minutes of gifable moments, figured the highlights would just get posted in here

They didn't set that up well for a main event angle.
