Antacular
First Transformers is a legitimately good, *** movie. Was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. There is a special place in Hell for Bay on account of the second one and the seven hours of my life (or however long it was, felt like eternity) I'll never get back. Absolute garbage. If you defend this film, you deserve AIDS. Third one is passable. I didn't have a seething desire to hunt down the entire Bay family, which makes it an improvement over Revenge of the Fallen. Plus I didn't pay to see it.
Reed
The special Hell Bay is going to is a place where Michael Bay movies play nonstop.
Antacular
If it's a constant loop of Armageddon, Transformers 2, Bad Boys 2, and Pearl Harbor, this is a religion I could get behind.

Antacular
Avoid lavishing praise on any works bearing the mark of the beast ("A Michael Bay Film").
Niners Fan in CT
I guess that leads into the next film I want to defend... Bad Boys II. It's a lot of fun. I felt like Will and Martin were able to recapture some of the magic they had in the first movie. There are some dumb bits like the whole accidental E overdose but overall their chemistry is still great and there are a lot of funny moments. Then there's the action and they do not skimp on that at all.. Logic would say that they'd be fired from the force from causing so much damage, basically fucking up half the city but hey do you want the baddies off the streets or not?!  Someone described it as GTA: The Movie. I'm cool with that description. Is it as good as the first? No, but I do think it's solid.
Antacular
I hope you enjoy the heat, and I don't mean another poorly chosen Sandra vehicle.
Just Dave
I love Bad Boys 2. God help me, I do. And Armageddon. I feel like those movies were so different in tone than Bay's later sins, in that they weren't taking themselves seriously. Also, Affleck seems like he's having a ball in Armageddon. I've heard his commentary track is the stuff of legends...
humanhorrorfilm
Am I the only one who thinks Rocky would've lost a legit boxing match as oppsoed to a street fight in Rocky V?

I've heard his commentary track is the stuff of legends...  On the commentary track to Jersey Girl, he takes a couple of shots at Armageddon (most notably admitting that the entire premise that it would be easier to teach drillers to be astronauts than astronauts to drill was fucking absurd) and pretty much buries it.  God I fucking hated that movie. Especially that fucking Aerosmith song.
Niners Fan in CT
Oooh it's time for another Michael Bay list:  The Good: - Pain & Gain - Bad Boys - The Rock - Transformers - Bad Boys II  The Bad: - Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Armageddon  The Ugly: - Pearl Harbor - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen    Note: I have only seen and remember bits of The Island
Antacular
Revenge of the Fallen might just be the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. If it wasn't for Buscemi, Armageddon would be at that level.
mco543
I just can't hate on Michael Bay. Yeah, he gave us the shitty Transformers movies, Armageddon, and Pearl Harbor but God dammit he gave us The Rock, The Island, Bad Boys, and Bad Boys II. Antacular
You act as if those are enough to compensate for the rest of his shit. He gave us The Rock and Bad Boys, not Goodfellas and Platoon.
Brian Fowler
There is no world where Dark of the Moon is worse than the first movie. Nor a world where Bay gets a "good" list.
Victator
Am I the only one who thinks Rocky would've lost a legit boxing match as oppsoed to a street fight in Rocky V? That is an interesting point. He took a pretty bad beating in that street fight and it would have probably been stopped in an official fight.
Fat Spanish Waiter
You have shit taste in everything Fowler, The Rock is one of the best action movies ever. Â Anyway, Soul Men is more unknown than unpopular, but it's awesome. And Mac was on the cusp of something man, he totally killed Samuel L Jackson in this. Without spoiling too much, here's vintage Mac: Â
keith_h
Bay could try for a thousand years and never top The Rock. Such a perfect 90's action movie. Easily the best of the "Die Hard on a ________" genre that populated the 90's.
Brian Fowler
The Rock is only good if you apply fan wank and decide Connery is playing Bond.
Antacular
Wasn't The Rock his directorial debut? Can easily be chalked up as beginner's luck.
keith_h
The Rock is only good if you apply fan wank and decide Connery outs playing Bond. Fat Spanish Waiter
The Rock is only good if you apply fan wank and decide Connery outs playing Bond. The irony is that you're a Whedon fan, and the only way to sit through his shit is to fan wank. Craig H
I described Bad Boys 2 as GTA: the Movie and it's a work of art. It's so fucking good. I mean, they drive Hummers through Favelas killing who knows how many people.
