Bad/Unknown/Unpopular Movies You'll Always Defend

Drop Dead Gorgeous is really terrific too. One of the few things I've liked Kristen Dunst in (she's way better at comedy than drama.)

Drop Dead Gorgeous is a FANTASTIC film and I'll kick the left ankle of anyone who says otherwise.  Hilarious from beginning to end.  And it also stars Denise Richards giving the most awesomest talent show performance ever!  MY GUY!  It also features Amy Adams in her first movie, IIRC.

I would recommend the 1975 film Smile if beauty pageant satire is your cuppa.

Are there soulless people out there who don't like Clue? Because Clue is so ridiculously campy, and I don't know how anyone can hate it. i watched it twice a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years, and loved the hell out of it. So ridiculous.

Also: BASEketball. I haven't watched it in quite awhile, but love it to death.

If it weren't for a. Its two predecessors and b. Sofia Copolla Godfather III wouldn't get nearly tje hate does. Classic? No. Decent flick? Yes.

Pacino and Garcia are both very good. So, yeah, I think if it had had a better actress in Coppola's role it would have been fine. Not great, but fine.

So really it's Winona Ryder's fault since Coppola replaced her.

I find Francis Ford Coppola's claim that he couldn't find any other Italian-American Actress (in the whole of Hollywood) for the role of Mary and he had to go with his daughter...dubious to say the least.

Look, I don't personally have a huge thing against nepotism in Hollywood. As long as the person is talented (example: Tim Burton and Helena Bonham-Carter), but Sofia was Godawful here. It's embarrassing how bad she is.

Masters of the Universe because despite all of its goofiness, it had some really inspired stuff in it.  Had some legit good costumes and FX for its time, and Frank Langella as Skeletor was badass.  I'm disappointed Gary Goddard didn't get to have more of a film career because he comes off as a clever guy.  Mattel wanted to put like every MOTU character in it and he saw how stupid that was.  I remember reading an updated MOTU script by Justin Marks when the project was getting some more traction about 6 years ago.  He jammed like every character in it and none of them had any impact at all.  Zodiac gets introduced on page 5 to be Adam's Yoda and gets killed two pages later.  Seriously.

I think it's looked at more fondly now, but I've always enjoyed License to Kill and pre-Casino Royale, it was still one of my favorite Bond films.  I think Robert Davi was great as a scumbag drug cartel dealer.  I loved seeing Bond on a revenge trip.  I like watching it today even more because of all the familiar faces that pop up in it that I recognize now.

I'm a big fan of little known 80s and early 90s action.  I think Stone Cold with the Boz is awesome!  Andy Sidaris films are always fun and Hard Ticket to Hawaii is the best of them.  Indonesia has put out the most insane action films of the 80s and I think are candidates of the best action films as it speeds through the plot and just gives one death-defying (quite literally) stunt after another.  Stabilizer and Lady Terminator are great ways to start.

The Andy Sidaris films helped me become a man.  I will go to my grave having a crush on Julie Strain.  Speaking of cheesy 80's action movies, I feel the need to defend 1980's blockbuster "Collision Course" starring Jay Leno and Pat Morita.

How about Blue Chips?  No one EVER talks about that movie, but I watched it recently, and it still holds up for me.  That side of college sports will always be relevant.

Man, License to Kill was *dark*. I loved it. It flipped the script of typical Bond villains, going from "goofy and hell-bent on world domination" to "evil son of a bitch who wants vicious revenge".
