To give you some background, the first guy, Nick whoever, asked at the last ppv scrum if CM Punk was the reason Colt was fired or relegated to ROH, to which Tony said, “no comment.”

This was Punk remembering that shit from before and knowing that Nick and Colt did a podcast together and did other work together. Nick nervously tried to backtrack by saying he and Colt didn’t see eye to eye. But that’s what kicked everything off.

Ahhh, okay. Thanks for that.

CM Punk saw Frankie Kazarian doing the Elite Hunter gimmick last year and said "hold my muffins". Who is gonna be Kofi & Xavier's third man against the Bucks & Omega since Big E is out injured, I wonder.

I thought the same thing. In either cut of the presser, I don't hear a question about Colt.

I heard Nick Hausman started things with Punk by asking him if he was friends with Scott Colton. Is that inaccurate?

AEW in general seems out of control.  I still don’t believe the presser was an angle, but we will see.   I definitely don’t think all stories coming out of the company lately are false.

Overshadowed by the Punk drama is Tony being asked a fairly benign question about WWE running two big shows Labor Day weekend and going on an expletive-laden rant about how he wasn’t going to f*ckking take it anymore.  Dude needs a vacation.

Oh, and Toni Storm responded to another routine question about ThunderRosa’s injury by saying “ThunderRosa says she’s injured.”  Welp, that should put those rumors to bed

Seriously, he's really thin-skinned. Like he's taken his own shots at WWE before. If he really wants to be in competition with them and SHIFT THE BALANCE OF POWER IN WRESTLING, is he really going to get out of sorts when WWE competes and punches back?

I'm sorry but WWE running an NXT event BEFORE All Out is nowhere near as egregious as putting NXT directly up against AEW Dynamite and trying to kill AEW's TV right off the bat.

So in summation, BCC is the best thing in AEW.
Regal, best podcast and great commentary.

Mox, fantastic run as interim title that was legitimized by that squash. I’m excited to see what he gets into next.

Danielson, regularly great matches. Interesting story with Jericho and Garcia. Solid match with Jericho. As usual, a match highlight in AEW.

Claudio, is Claudio. Just be Claudio. Claudio.

Yuta, went from young buddy to badass.

It will all come out to be a diabolical plan by MJF. We'll get videos later of the following:

MJF stealing Hangman's phone and signing him up for Fightful Select.

MJF disguised as Bix at the back of the media scrum holding up a "Where's Colt Cabana?" sign.

MJF taping a sign on Kenny Omega that says "Bite if you love Steel Domain Wrestling!"

New tea leaves just dropped: Young Bucks have no bio on the bird site.

It's probably hard to type a new bio for Twitter when you had a chair leg gouged into your eye. Maybe they can get Colt Cabana to do it, I hear he's looking for work.

Who are these media scrums either for and what is their purpose? I knew they had them but never watched.

It gives TK another opportunity to hang out with the wrestlers in front of everyone.

They change their bio all the time. Look at their tweets, most of them just say New Bio!

Shit, they changed their bio live on Dynamite once.

Other way around.  Punk walked in, picked out Hausman to ask the first question, then cut the guy off and started grilling him about if he knew Colton and was still in touch with Colton.  Hausman never did ask a question as Punk was off and running from that point.

i didn’t know Hausman brought up Cabana to Punk before, so that part makes a little more sense.

what’s the bird site?  I have no idea what that’s referencing.

Fightful sharing what WWE talent have to say. Interesting stuff and less the Nelson Muntz response I was expecting:

Quote

Reactions from WWE staff and talent for
CM Punk's media scrum caught the attention of EVPs in AEW, but also wrestlers around the industry.

There were numerous WWE talent that reached out to Fightful to get the notes of what all went down, as well as details behind the skirmish at AEW All Out. A top WWE star said that they believe that the CM Punk that they knew years ago is being highlighted.

Another WWE talent said that if it was a work, it was one of the most elaborate works they've ever seen. A third talent said much of the same -- "If this Punk press scrum thing is a work.. bravo." Both had contacted Fightful before Raw and said that they learned individually it wasn't a work, and expressed surprise that it even happened. There was confusion from both of those as to why Tony Khan would not comment in the follow up about Punk bashing the EVPs and not providing clarity regarding the people who launched the company with him.

"You can't expect a lot of people here to have a lot of positive things to say about Punk, and I think he's aware of that and has probably come to peace with it," one talent who worked with Punk in the past said. "I feel like he's trying to run things there, and it looks like he's doing it."

Another longtime main eventer told us that they considered Punk's actions unprofessional, and don't believe he's the company man or leader that he made himself out to be. That same person would call Punk "selfish and arrogant." This sentiment was echoed by several we spoke to, including some talent that worked on set with Punk at FOX.

A WWE official said that they agreed with Tony Khan that wrestlers not liking each other wasn't bad for wrestling, but said that in situations like Punk and the Elite's, that power had to be asserted in order to let everyone know that wasn't tolerable. The same official said that kind of thing didn't happen as often recently in WWE -- except for the likes of Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar -- because talent knew that if they did that while Vince McMahon was there, they probably weren't going to be welcomed back. With situations where it did happen, like Alberto Del Rio, they were fired.

Another top WWE name told us that if the parties involved don't put their issues aside and make money with it that "none of them have business talking about drawing houses or losing fans or interest. They have a good show but this is still the biggest piece of business they've done and they have to capitalize."

We'll have more on this story as we get more info.

So they are saying they've heard (presumably from friends in aew) that it is not a work. They're right for calling out Khan for not stepping in but I get the feeling he doesn't want to offend Punk-sama and risk things getting awkward in the public eye.

100% agree with the last statement too. This could be something that brings AEW to the next level I was just saying was likely impossible.
