No offense to Cabana, but isn't that like flushing money down the toilet? You're going to pay a guy six figures maybe just to stay at home and or just chat with people backstage but tell him to steer clear of CM Punk? And then maybe wrestle on one show every few months?

It’s the getting hit by the mail truck of wrestling contracts.

Here's my final thought (fuck you Jerry): Think of this as your job. If you walked in and pulled this shit you'd probably be outright fired. But Punk is in all likelihood gonna stay and even have marquee matches because of the heat he created. He may have Tony under his thumb in a way. Or something extremely fucky could happen, in any direction.

Pipebomb, shit dude, I guess you never cared after all. In any other age you'd be out in PR with Eddie Gilbert or doing landscaping with Eddie Mansfield.

If you can't figure out how to use someone as talented and popular as Colt (don't forget him being a pioneer in the whole indy merch selling that earns you a nice living thing as well) that's a problem on you.

Well in defense of Punk, he in all likelihood has F-U money. I'ts not like he was in desperate need of money and needed AEW. Even without a UFC gravy train, he seemed to be doing well for himself. Was getting paid FOX Sports money to shit on WWE product on WWE Backstage, would do TV and movie gigs now and again.

Also, the Cody Rhodes business proved that the EVP titles are essentially meaningless, vestigial titles. Cody had/has no ownership or actual equity in AEW.

Tony Khan is such a fucking dork sitting there watching Punk rip a good portion of his roster. Papa H or Vince would pulled the plug 30 seconds into that scrum.

Of course this is all null and void if Punk comes out Wednesday and continues this as a character…..

So TK is Bischoff, Ace Steel is Ed Leslie with no eyebrows, Larry the dog is Jimmy Hart, the city of Chicago is the Bubba the Love Sponge show and Chris Hero at some point or another will get dusted off to be the Dungeon of Doom.

Does that make Brandon Cutler Virgil?

I read the results and saw the comments from the post-PPV scrum.

Fuck CM Punk. Fuck MJF.

MJF proves that once again he is low effort, low ability and does this stupid idiotic way to 'win' the Casino ladder match for a title shot (because God forbid he actually fucking wrestle). He pisses off the fans and sets the tone for the entire show. Then he comes out at the end and apparently this is the only way he would come back - if Tony Khan really cared about the fans as he said in the voicemail, he would have MJF sit at home until his contract was up. Why? Because AEW moved on without MJF and he's not as indispensable as he thinks he is.

Then CM Punk shows himself to be a Diva and talks about being a 'professional' while shitting on Kenny Omega/Young Bucks/Hangman Page. He got the AEW World title hotshotted within a week and it's now worthless. This is what it looks like when CM Punk gets his way.

So at some point we'll see MJF and Punk AGAIN so MJF can do his low effort 'wrestling' and Punk can drag another great match out of him. I wish a giant meteorite would hit both in the parking lot, but we don't get what we want in this life.

Has anyone besides Bix noted Punk essentially admitted he either (depending on how you interpret it) considered or threatened to no show the PPV with the "He nearly ruined the biggest gate in company history" comment?

CM Punk was shitting all over all the journalists for what they wrote but then he indirectly confirmed that a lot of what they wrote was true...

I’m listening now. There was an altercation between punk and the bucks which security responded to. Dave described it as a melee. Tony wasn’t made aware of it until 20 minutes later and he left the scrum, like Bush in the kindergarten class.

I'd like for this to be the only thing I'd have to say on the matter, but someone else is probably going to say something fucking stupid and I'll get dragged back in or have to put someone on ignore. For the millionth fucking time, and I just fucking said this the other day, put yourself in the other person's shoes and try to empathize with them so you can try to understand them instead of just saying, "wah, fuck CM Punk, blah blah blah."

The fucking guy says it near the end of that interview when he's talking to Alvarez. He says to Bryan, "you watched that video and said I went to business for myself" and Bryan responds with "and that's why I also said that you would defend yourself if that wasn't the case." Punk's response was that when you defend yourself you come off as defensive and you have to eat shit and none of this should be happening anyway in 2022, almost 10 years after he stopped being friends with the guy, because people can't let it go. If I'm putting myself in Punk's shoes and I've been a good soldier for years and not said a fucking word about Colt only for in the last month or so for it to blow up in Punk's face to where everyone is thinking he did something he didn't do all because Matt, Nick, Kenny, or Hangman went to whoever and leaked bullshit and it's against someone who tried to sue him, yeah, I might be more than a little triggered that I'm again having to deal with that bullshit. It's fucked up. Calling Punk a whiny bitch or whatever is stupid. Again, put yourself in his shoes and everything he's gone through and yet here you are still having to deal with it. And not only that, you have Hangman of all people who started this shit. I love Adam Page, but if you think about it, he shouldn't have said shit about shit. It wasn't his place.

Plus, look at Punk's demeanor right as that scrum starts and as it starts nearing the end of his segment. His adrenaline is pumping after a hell of a match, he's hurt as fuck, and all he probably wanted to do was talk about the match and the first thing some dumb fuck had to bring up was Colt of all things.

Now, should Punk have gone off like the guns of the Navarone? Probably not, but again, I can't imagine what my state of mind would be after dealing with a bunch of bullshit over the last two months, having my name dragged through the mud, busting my ass in a wrestling match, going into a media scrum, and then getting asked about something from fucking years ago. The best thing for the guy to do would be to not even attend the scrum and just eat his cupcakes backstage somewhere, but we can't go back in time and re-do that decision. But if you're Kenny, Matt, Nick, or Hangman and you're saying this or that to whoever and it's bullshit, then yeah, you probably deserved getting called out.

As much as I like the Bucks and Kenny and Hangman and a bunch of others in AEW, I also think they have their own growing up to do. It doesn't make them bad people, but they took a situation that was a total nothing and blew it the fuck up in ways I don't think they saw coming. And then if the rumors are true that they want to walk because they got called out on their bulllshit, then I don't know what it says about them.

Going forward, I don't know what you do, but I'd start by getting Punk, Omega, Nick, Matt, Hangman, TK, Schiavone, and Jericho all in the same room to hash this shit out. Explain why you did or said what you did or said, apologize if it's waranted, and move on to go and keep making money. Everyone handled the situation poorly to some degree.

I believe Punk was referring to one of the final promos Hangman and him cut on each other before their match. I don't believe he was referring to All Out. At least that was my interpretation, given the timing of everything.

Nick Hausman asked a valid question. And the questions were more relevant when Punk first started working for AEW considering AEW had already signed Colt Cabana and Cabana was working for them.

Sunny Days for 2022.

5:36: "You talk a big game about workers' rights! Well, you've shown the exact opposite since you've gotten here!"

Sorry but I think Punk is being a baby. Hangman is the champion, and nothing he said here buried or massively hurt Punk.

Not like he said Punk was sleeping with Julia Hart.

Correct sir. Holy shit, BIx put 2 and 2 together and got 5, well I never. Try listening to the facts and doing some real journalism.

Punk has always been honest to a fault and I’ve never seen fit to doubt what’s he’s saying or believes in. Given the timing it’s hardly surprising he finally spoke his mind. Professional or not, it’s probably high time all this stuff was laid bare so we can all move the fuck along.

Obviously I'm not 100% buying into any of this but taking it at face value.......

I'm probably someone who share's some of Punk's general dislike of people, but there's just a few too many stories about him being an oversensitive douche to really side with Punk easily. Obviously it's a matter of DVDVR record that Colt isn't exactly the nice-guy persona he presents to the public, but....well I've started rewatching Better Call Saul with my gf at the moment let's just say that.

Also look...in the end, I personally see his MMA career as a sign that Punk's grip on reality is not necessarily 100%. Yeah ok, he was being paid to be there etc....but then if it's all about money for the guy, let's not pretend he's also some man of deep principles when he goes after money he didn't really need. He was an untalented MMA fighter who never should have been anywhere near a UFC card....I understand positive mental attitude etc but there comes a point where that crosses over into something a bit more like delusion.

Also, look years ago I defended Punk as a crossover star to the likes of FSW - there's no doubt he's got a good record as a merch shifter etc. But let's take a step back here. He didn't build ROH. He might act like he did. But he didn't. Danielson, Daniels, Low-Ki, Homicide, Corino and Joe built ROH. He had a good run.

He was often a highlight of WWE even when he was in the midcard, even if he was borderline subpar as a natural athlete. Did he really move the needle? Not really? He seized a moment, fairplay to him, but he became a star mostly because Vince ultimately decided to push him and because Cena kinda sorta put him over.

What The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega achieved independently is way bigger than that. There's a strong 'he hates us 'cos he ain't us' energy there. There's no AEW without them. And whilst yeah ROH moved on from Low-Ki, lol, he's not going to win a battle for the fans with Omega and Hangman very easily. He probably knows that, but lol maybe not at this point who really knows?
