Dynamite - 8/10/2022 - AEW Quake by the Lake

Mox vs Lionheart (for all the marbles)

In terms of alternate Jerichos, I personally prefer Lionheart to The Painmaker.

I kind of hope Jericho wins. Not because of the genuinely entertaining hawt takes that would generate, but because it would pretty likely lead to Mad King getting a huge moment at The Tennis Stadium and that would be really great.

Blackpool Combat Club brings me as much joy as anything this side of my wonderful daughters. It's more or less my favourite non-family-related thing. Not just in wrestling. I enjoy BCC more than I enjoy eating.

Lucha Bros vs Ingobernables

Fenix and Roosh in the same ring. Good heavens!

It's a tornado match! Who will be the first to leap in here tomorrow to complain about the referee or no tag ropes or whatever? We certainly know who will be the first to pre-emptively complain about that! (Me).

Darby vs Brody King (Coughing Match)

I have to type out Brody King's full name, because Brody could be Brodie (or Bruiser - but not Dick the Bruiser) and King could be Mad King or KiLynn (or Lawler - but not Lawlor).

Also this match will be insane, too, additionally.

Jade vs Madison Rayne (TBS Title)

Crossraynes! Raynebuster! Raynemaker! Back Rayne Kick!

Or, more likely, pump kick, jaded.

FTR

Just talking? That would be fine. But, hopefully, fighting. Maybe both?

Oooo. vs Workhorsemen, please.

Babyface Ricky Starks vs Aaron Solo is also confirmed.

Starks should take 90% of it or overcome a lot of interference if he has to work from underneath. He needs to make a statement.

@Octopusyou said you're going to this, right? Have fun! Will we see you singing Judas?

I’m bringing a work buddy along that doesn’t know wrestling but is interested. So I plan on playing along with any shenanigans that arrises.

Also, I’m being naughty and taking the rest of the week off. So I will drink beforehand and have overpriced drinks there.

I’ll do a road report.

I am fairly confident that this Casket Match will be decent since Darby Allin is taking part and he has been in one of the three Casket Matches that I have ever liked.

Mil Muertes has been in two of them.  Brody King will be a more-than-acceptable stand-in for Mil Muertes in tonight's violence against certifiably batshit crazy Darby Allin, who is close in stature and speed when compared to Mil Muertes's opponents in those other two badass Casket Matches:  Rey Fenix and Prince Puma / Ricochet.

Perhaps the key to a great Casket Match is the David vs. Goliath booking rather than the Undertaker / Kane blunder of pitting one plodding giant vs another, especially if the gargantuas are past their prime?  We shall find out tonight.

Please, Darby, don't die before you get your win back tonight.  I know you want to take the Brody King Running Ganso Driller off of the ring apron and straight through a table, but just fucking don't.  Think of the children in the crowd, man.  How many Butter Pecan & Hot Fudge sundaes will it take to placate the sobbing masses of inconsolable boys and girls should you wind up comatose in a coffin after Brody King beats the breaks off of you shuts the lid?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SEND THEM HOME HAPPY~!

Bold Prediction: Jericho's winning the belt tonight.

Bolder Prediction: Jericho -> Kingston -> MJF

My prediction is that Punk gets the belt back very quickly when he returns, then holds it until tv contract negotiations are over.  Supposedly, Punk is the most popular wrestler in AEW as well as being one of the few names network execs might recognize.  Hoping that’s not the way to go, but they saddled Mox with the interim tag for a reason.

Oddly enough, I also believe that Jericho has a good chance of either winning the belt tonight or beating Mox at All Out for the strap.

His promo about potentially being technically the first two-time AEW Heavyweight Champ should he beat Punk in a future title unification match is the Chekhov's gun that must be fired, right?

I still think Jericho wins tonight, even if just to drop it back to Mox at All Out. I don't know the main would be otherwise, unless Punk's ready to go.

I've been talking to my friends about this. Nobody else is really available unless maybe Danielson? Meltzer said they think/hope Omega is back for All Out, but that would be a stupid way to reintroduce him. Punk seemed to be in a lot of pain at comic con and that's just traveling and walking around/standing. I doubt he's back so I expect some sort of fuckery tonight and a rematch at the ppv. Yuck. Hope I'm wrong.

I know he's probably doing the trios finals, but if not, wouldn't Hangman still be a viable contender for the title?

MJF wins a casino whatever to get a title shot by being an unannounced joker, takes the title off Kingston the same night he wins it. Nuclear heat

I took a work buddy who didn't know wrestling when I went to the Dynamite after Revolution. He had a blast, as did I. After 5 minutes he was Woo-ing for every chop and booing the heels.  I still love that out of all the star power on the show he thought Luther and John Silver were the best. Really fun to watch with a newbie with an open mind and an open heart
