Well considering Wall Street really thought he sold RAW to Trump that one time, sadly yes. It would be no fun knowing Mr. McMahon has no real power anymore. I kinda wish though the WWE could have a in character boss on tv again. Someone completely separate from the McMahon's.

someone in the vein of Jack "Best President Since Noriega" Tunney

it's been a long time since I've felt so passionately about a difference of opinion here, but I have absolutely no desire for any kind of authority figure on television ever again, in any promotion. Its a concept that peaked 25 years ago with Bischoff and Vince, and they were lucky to have gotten the extra longevity they did out of the idea, owing largely (IMO) to just how talented the people they cast in those roles are -  Foley, Regal, Teddy Long, Flair, Austin, AJ Lee etc. I'm sure there are many I am forgetting or have plain blocked out. I just don't think you get the same mileage out of it if it were, let's say, Stephanie or Mike Adamle (or yes, the fucking laptop) the whole time.

It was after so many years of the gimmick doing nothing but taking up space to. JJ Dillion, Bockwinkle, how about the mAtChMaKeR that was on every regional show back in the day. I don’t really know what my opinion on that actually is, just dumping it here lol!

I'm so sick of the on-air authority figure that I (wrongly, I'm sure) don't even give Impact a chance.  I've heard in a few places how it's worth watching now, but then I tune in and see Scott D'Amore running around in a suit and director's headset, telling people what to do, setting up matches, etc.,  and I just nope the fuck out like Abraham Simpson in that gif.

It probably doesn't help that the time I tried giving them a chance was during the angle where Honor No More was invading.  So we had angry D'Amore setting up matches to get back at them.  So not only did we have "angry authority figure using his STROKE in THE BACK to get back at wrestlers," but you had INVADING FACTION WHO DOESN'T WORK HERE AND HATES THE COMPANY on top of that.  Really didn't do wonders for The Promotion Formerly Known as TNA's attempts to not be WWE Lite.

I mean, I definitely consider "only shows up once or twice a year" a big part of the appeal to the old Jack "On The Take" Tunney approach to on-air authority figures

even 90's WCW brought Bockwinkel and Dillon out a bit too regularly

When you saw Tunney on the tv, you knew whatever was being addressed was a big deal.

I'm fine with AEW's approach of wrestler X challenges wrestler Y and the announcers let it know it was made official during the break. I don't need more info than that.

If I were pitching TK on ideas for ROH, and he'd had a few White Claws and some of that good booger sugar, I'd pitch Danhausen as the authority figure of Ring of Honor. I think his weirdness would play well between ultra serious matches. His character loves money and as he figures out that the more people like the matches, the more money he makes, you could have a lot of fun with that. But I think authority figures have to be done like that now, instead of "biased heel boss oppresses totally not ordained top babyface."

He should have gone with escorts — legitimate sex workers — instead of these independent contractors.

Oh I can guarantee he is a frequent user of those services as well. I work for one of these dudes, they’re all the same. Remember when bill gates was “the good billionaire?” All the same. Many payouts to women in their orbit, and regular frequent use of prostitutes.

I am going to play the devil's advocate and say he doesn't use those services. At least not any services where he couldn't be 2 or 3 degrees away.

You know how fast Vince would get arrested in some type of sting operation if it was just him doing it? He would need some type of broker to stay out of trouble.

So what happens when the WWE Board is done investigating. Assuming this is all the money they found he used (it's probably gonna be more), does he have to pay the company back or what?

As I understand it, the money he paid was his own money to begin with. He didn't pay out of WWE bank accounts. He paid out of Vince McMahon personal bank accounts. But with the strict SEC rules any payment made for the betterment of the company (as this was, to prevent legal actions against the company for HR violations) needed to be reported to the shareholders. McMahon is allowed to use his own money and make those payments, but it needs to be reported and filed with the SEC.

And he never reported any of the payments. Which can have strict fines and consequences for WWE from The SEC. That's why this is what took him down. For 20+ years he didn't report a financial indicator to the shareholders that absolutely by law needed to be. When this is done being investigated The SEC may choose to take legal action against WWE and / or Vince personally. I don't know how likely any jail time is for him, but big fines are certainly a real possible.

You think germaphobe Vince would hire sex workers? I don't. Unless Dr. Zahorian would emerge from the closet like JJ Dillon to administer blood and urine tests.

Vince: **10 minute lecture on her use of pronouns**

Escort: Sir, I just sleep with strangers for money.
