That was actually real?? I thought it was a meme on Twitter. Holy shit.

If this is a work, or more likely if they turn it back into a work, then Sasha and Naomi are the hottest act in a really long time. They can both deliver on that, too. Would love to see them pop up out of nowhere and lay waste to a bunch of people or maybe get aligned with The Bloodline or something like that.

I'm so glued to this, though.

So, I was listening to SRS’s post show breakdown last night, and I did feel some slight sense of relief that Naomi and Sasha were actually advocating for Piper & Nikki to get a match with them at HitC. I have some worker friends who have met Big Damo through the Indy circuit and they all have glowing things to say about the kind of people Damo & Nikki are. Nikki also famously bought pizza for the dozens of extras wwe was using during the early pandemic days. It really bothered me that Nikki & Piper list a chance at a Raw main event because Sasha and Naomi walked out. I think if it were me, I’d have tried to help a friend and then walked, but I get it.

I never side with management. Ever. I’m a proud Union member and have seen what the evil intent of management brings about when workers don’t stand together. It’s just hard for me to take Sasha seriously when she’s going on Stone Cold’s podcast and saying asinine, borderline delusional shit like “I’m on Vince McMahon’s level” and how the company needs her more than she needs the company. It’s also eyeroll inducing to hear people talk about her Hollywood aspirations when she had 3 lines on Mandalorian and wasn’t invited back. I guess it’s natural to have an emotional response when a person I think is an absolute idiot makes a decent point. It kinda seems like a persecution complex from Sasha, when there are twenty women on wwe’s payroll who would give anything to have creative as bad as Sasha’s. But I also understand how maddening it is to have a boss promise something and then not follow through. Idk. I guess what I’m saying is I’m not perfect, and the impulse to speak on an incident before I have a fully formed opinion probably isn’t my best trait. I still think Sasha’s an incredibly overrated in ring performer, and has been blatantly unprofessional at various points in her career (purposely breaking Alexa Bliss’ nose in nXt, for one), but I’m also all for folks telling Vince, Johnny Ace, and Podcast Prichard to fuck off as frequently and loudly as possible.

I haven't seen Sasha wrestle in probably years, because she does nothing for me and hasn't since NXT was boomin' like 7 years ago or whatever. Never been a fan of Naomi, always seemed like your generic female Performance Center trainee, who just happened to be incredibly athletic as well.

That said - I'm always on the side of the worker when it comes to employee versus corporation maters like this. I don't care if I'm making what Sasha or Naomi makes at my shitty little full time weekend job, if I don't agree with something so much that my heart tells me to walk out, I'm walking out. The company, other workers, whoever, can screech "unprofessional" all they want, but they/you/me owe nothing to some billion dollar corporation. In my/your case, there are other jobs out there. And now, in 2022, especially for Sasha, there is another place to go, or other opportunities to explore now that she's dipped her toe into acting.

Them putting out that statement is tantamount to character assassination, and I wonder if the sides had been reversed and Sasha or Naomi posted a scathing press release about how unprofessional and toxic WWE is, if they wouldn't be hearing from WWE's legal team. Also, not the same situation, but let's not forget that it was conveniently leaked that Keith Lee was coming into AEW with baggage, Jeff Hardy failed a drug test, and Windham Rotunda was hard to work with. It's okay for them to put out statements or leak to wrestling media stuff like all of this, but workers can't stand up for themselves? Miss me with that bullshit.

My guy, Disney put her forward for a potential nomination for an Emmy for Guest Actor. She was on the same For Your Consideration list as Timothy Olyphant, Bill Burr, Rosario Dawson, etc. You're making it seem like Disney wants nothing to do with her, and that's probably 100% bullshit.

I don't know if it's Star Wars related but she's been filming something because she's been talking about it on social media saying she's "flying back and forth to L.A. for a project"

They've also put out three different "Koska Reeves" figures so somebody is buying her Star Wars figures

This is so weird. Despite Xavier Woods working at G4, they basically don't talk about wrestling, but about 30 minutes ago on Vibe Check they were talking about Sasha & Naomi. It also included Fiona Nova, a lesbian, talking about how hot she finds all the women wrestlers, and Gina Darling confusing Sasha Banks for ex-porn star Sasha Grey.

I'm pretty sure Girard the Completionist is a smark, because he's talking about dirt sheets and how it's pre-planned and stuff. And how WWE has a history of throwing workers under the bus.

Exciting to see how many aspiring entrepreneurs & creators there are in this thread, just itching to go out and create their own ventures & opportunities as opposed to being ensnared by generic Evil E Corp on a deal they signed up to. Walk-out central. Phew - we're going to be in for some interesting times domestically pretty soon.

Show me anywhere that any pro wrestler ever has signed up for any specific segment. Like Trish didn't sign up to bark like a dog. She happened to be okay with doing it. But if she wasn't is it your contention barking like a dog and being humiliated in public is part of the deal they signed up to? Sasha & Naomi had promises made to them by their boss. That boss then changed course and didn't hold up his end of the promise. You expect people to just swallow that shit? No way. Any person is well within their rights to say the stress and anxiety of dealing with this lying tyrant is too much on my mental health and I'm out.

No one owns your life but you. I don't care what your job is. It doesn't own you. You can walk at any time during any circumstances if that's what you need to do for your own happiness.

I'm curious what you do for a living. You don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable answering. But I think it would explain some context to why you are so pro heartless billion dollar corporation. It's gonna be hilarious if you're like an HR manager for Amazon warehouses or something like that.

Sorry I'm late.  AEW Dark and also had to watch MONK with my wife.  Carmelo Hayea and Trick Williams are two guys who I never remember the names of. I have to rewind to the beginning of their entrance.  Solo Sikao and Cameron Grimes!  I remember their names!  Hayes and Williams are a fun tag team.  Sikoa will lay it in.  Grimes is all perky and spunky.  Sikoa is all dynamic and shit.  He has a nice Uranagi and Superfly Splash.  That was good.  Pretty Deadly are even MORE like two Vince Noirs!  Yes!  Tatum Paxley and Lash Legend have a good match for gals who have not had ten matches yet.  Actually, cagematch has Legend down for 14 matches.  Sara Del Ray can train up some youngsters.  Awesome!  The Viking Raiders against the Creed Brothers again.  Brutus is awesome in this, being all powerful and stuff and the truly weird looking BRUTUS BOMB!  Nonbald Raider is a great house a-fire!  He uses his fat effectively.  The Creeds base their matches on fun nearfalls and this match is CHOCKFULL!   The Raiders are bumping like weirdos and it rules.  Screwed up fuckery costs the Creeds the match!  That was really good.  The Viking Raiders are RESURGENT!  Grayson Waller is prolly the best guy on NXT?  Well, if you gauge it by old school heel who can bump big.  Sarray is adorable in the crowd cheering.  Andre Chase  isn't really necessary to be in this match, as Waller is Sami Zane-ing the match by handling everything.  He deserves the win!  Grayson Waller is awesome.  Hey!  It;s Roxxanne Perez!  Kiana James I haven't seen before.  Cagematch says she is 11 matches in.  Roxanne has been wrestling since she was 8 so she can carry one of these NXT rookie gals.  James looks fine in this.  Sara Del Ray coaches these folks up.  Roxanne is so great as a sympathetic babyface.  Her selling made one hope that she BATTLES back- even though she is wrestling a green as grass rookie.   It's Desmond Xavier!  Or Wes Lee, via the lamest spewing of the NXT Random Name Generator.  Nathan Frazer was trained by Seth Rollins, according to cagematch.  That's neat.  This match is good.  Frazer has a good tope.  I love a double crossbody.  And your finish is complete dogshit.  Santos Escobar and Tony D'Angelo don;t have a lot of time.  I assume something kind of booking will take over.  Let's see, shall we?  D'Angelo is another rookie.  They really got a good training system at WWE because none of these folks look like rookies.  Of course, cagematch says that Santos Escobar has been in the biz for 21 years, so you have a guiding hand in the ring.  Nice tope by Escobar.  This match is good, as Escobar CHEATS TO WIN!  This episode was mostly fine.  The only match you really NEED to see is the Creed Brothers vs the Viking Raiders.  Everything else  was good enough that you won ’t become angry for watching.  There you go.

Grimes/Solo vs. Carmelo/Trick was good. Trick is getting better and works well with Hayes. Grimes is a nice house of fire, and Solo slowly feels more and more like the Anoa'i version of Samoa Joe as times goes on.

Lash/Tatum was surprisingly decent. Lash seems to be getting better each match.

Chase/Waller was decent fun.

Creeds vs. Viking Raiders was good once again. These two teams feed into each other so well with how similar yet so different they are as bruisers.

Roxanne/Kiana was shocking solid. Never seen any of the actual female NXT rookies look so good. Curious how much of that was Roxanne an dhow much was Kiana herself.

Lee/Frazier was good shit before the bs finish.

Santos/Tony was solid. Glad to see Santos pick up the victory.

Was nice seeing them set up so many matches for next week. Indi gave a nice promo and has me actually looking forward to her match with Mandy despite never really finding Indi that good in the ring. Hopefully their match next week pleasantly surprises.

The note that has come out about all this that sticks out to me is the talent in WWE immediately knowing that the "not wanting to work with two of the participants" thing was utter BS but also that there wasn't much sympathy towards them or thinking that they took a stand for something worthwhile. I generally take the position that those in the locker room probably have the best idea about things like this and hence waiting to see how the winds blow with them is the best way to get a feel for things like this. The prevailing winds being that WWE is publicly lying through their teeth yet their co-workers liking both ladies but not necessarily thinking they are in the right is... unusual.

My best guess is that something relatively normal happened, someone responded emotionally and then someone else responded so in kind and it kinda spiralled out into lost tempers and things going all the way out of control.

Despite the clownshoes presentation and incredibly cringy ring names and gimmicks, NXT 2.0 is quite solid as far as in-ring action goes. Carmello and Trick continue to get better and while I'm not a fan of Grimes' more clean cut look he's still just as good as he's ever been in the ring. I've been a fan of Trevor Lee since before he signed and am wondering what kind of ceiling he's going to have, though.

The Creeds are going to be excellent if they keep improving at the pace they are. Both of them are clearly great athletes and have been able to adapt their skills to wrestling very well so far. Not having Bivins as a mouthpiece is a step back, but they're doing fine in the ring. Spending these past months building Diamond Mine only to start a dissension angle is pretty par for the course as far as how WWE treats stables and tag teams though.

The women's matches were fine considering how green the participants are. The trainers and agents are good at having them keep it short and stick to showcasing their attributes so far.

I'm glad Desmond is sticking around and seemingly getting a push. That match with Frasier was cooking with gas until the fuck finish. I hope we see a rematch, though something tells me this was the start of them teaming.

Going back to the 90s WWF style gimmicks being utter crap in NXT, Tony D'Angelo and the Goombahs are a prime example. D'Angelo is actually pretty solid in the ring though. He also seems committed to working whatever schtick he's given. As lame as I think his gimmick is, the way he's putting in the effort to get it over shows he's got some talent in that respect as well as being a good wrestler.

Yikes, that one Creed bro needs to knock it off with that cannonball dive if nobody’s going to catch him. Too promising of a talent to be walking like Marty Janetty by 30 because you blew out your ankles on some dumb shit.

Its only the second time he has done it. The first time there were a good 4+ people there to catch him so he was fine. He probably didn't foresee an issue with guys the size of the Viking Raiders. He was wrong.

Sorry I missed this: its completely off-topic and I won't comment further so as to not derail conversation, but I own my own businesses, which required me to take significant personal & financial risk to establish having once worked in corporate roles. I am not in any way "pro heartless billion dollar corporation": I retained close to 100 staff through the covid lows at significant loss because it was the right thing to do .. many companies did similarly, and so to tar companies with the same brush or take an "I always support the decisions of the worker - no matter what!" approach as has been echoed here is - in my view - completely off kilter. What I said on this topic is that if they have a grievance that is not extraordinary to the role they have accepted, then by all means look for an exit, but an unstructured walk-out exit is imo disrespectful to audience, colleagues and - yes - the company that you have contractually agreed to work for and ultimately been enriched by over an extended period.

The agreements go two ways: it is very rare for talent to walk-out (and many talent have been put in infinitely more awkward circumstances than have been reported here), and I'm glad therefore at the amount of press circulating on lack of support by other talent internally for the actions taken (AEW guys can holla and shout all they want .. they have a vested interest). It suggests the issue here lay more with the individual than the company, ultimately, as it is an exceptionally rare event to have occured. Anyway, final word on the matter from me, all are welcome to their own views.
