I think the move is to have Punk win, have Eddie win it towards the end of the year, then its on to MJF.

Or flip Eddie and MJF.

Yeah, I like Punk -> MJF -> Kingston. Kingston doesn't need a long run at all.

I just really, really want Kingston to win the title from CM Punk on Dynamite Grand Slam, and have a celebration like Mick Foley did on RAW in '98 but sub out DX for Jon Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, Homicide, etc. Then he can lose it back to Punk or whatever at the PPV.

This feels like both the weakest PPV card and the weakest PPV build they've put on in maybe forever. Adam Cole is now poised to win a tournament named after Owen Hart. Makes me sick. Tony in his flop era. I agree with the notion something has been off with the general direction of the company the past few months. Think of the talent not on the card this year. I get that it's gonna happen with a roster this deep but they have 3 of their best wrestlers just chilling.

The only matches I'm not looking forward to are Cole/Joe with Joe getting lumbered with Cole, Young Bucks/Hardys and Pentagon annoys the piss outta me so hopefully PAC/Fenix and House of Black can counteract that. Criminal #FTR aren't on the show.

The way Joe’s been bodying everyone since he arrived should make the Owen final a great experience for people who don’t care for Cole.

Not on the down with bay bay team, but sold for the same reason on Joe-Cole. I agree with the criticism that the direction could be better and I too find it mindboggling that FTR are not on the card. For somebody who's ceiling for pro wrestling is around 3 hours in a sitting, I'm okay with a couple matches I'm uninterested in (Owen Women's final and Jade-Anna). This is definitely a tape delay show for me. But very much looking forward to the Main, Wardy-MJF, the Six Man, and even Hardys-Bucks. Hoping to be surprised by the 10 man, the 3 way, Deeb-Rosa, and the Hookhausen pre-show bout. Complaints certainly don't outweigh what I expect to be a tremendous night of wrestling.

There are a lot of masters to serve. It feels like more of a "big tent" promotion than before Punk came in and certainly before the pandemic.

There feel like some what ifs.

  • What would Cody have been doing if he didn't leave?
  • What would House of Black and Death Triangle have been doing if Fenix wasn't hurt and they could have done the six-man blow off last PPV?
  • Did they expect Omega to be out this long?

Since he doesn't provide context: TK said on Unrestricted that Punk/Hangman won't start until AFTER game 7 of Heat/Celtics is over - if there is one, anyway.

let's ignore that WWE promised people in Las Vegas that Summerslam would end before Pacquiao/Spence Jr last year and snark it up baby

Have him win like Akiyama to Ogawa with a flash pin or something.

FTFY. That pop would be ridiculous, especially if whoever the champ is (Cole?) comes charging in only for King to nuke him with the Backfist to the Future and get the pin in like 10 seconds.

Know what else would rule? If Kingston hits Jericho with a bucket of butane fuel at the start of their DON match and then dares him to throw another fireball again. Just picture Jericho's flop sweat for that one.

You could see if a movie theater is playing it, and I think conventional PPV applies still too but B/R is the only US stream

We don't have cable where I live and the theater next city over doesn't look like it will have it. Really bummed out. B/R never even followed up with my complaints about the stream so I really don't want to give them money again.

Thanks for the suggestions all.

I’m pretty sure AEW fans collect action figures and read comics and don’t watch sports.

Oh wait, maybe he’s confused by the goofy sneakers addiction?

Wait, that could just be the wrestlers.

Most interesting missing piece is Sammy-Tay. Is PVZ not ready? Everything pointed towards the intergender tag match. Sammy promised he would not be off the next AEW PPV - promised not kept.

I'm assuming it gets added on Rampage tomorrow as they're having Scorpio Sky receive his newly made TNT Championship.

THIS is awesome and should be used on the show.  Reminds me of the Hangman/Omega Cinderella vid 2 years ago, more of that!

Slightly under. Buzz and build doesn't feel there like Revolution. I'm looking forward to the show even though there's a few matches I'm not into. Once the show ends, it's a quick turnaround as matches need to be announced for AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door.

Fightful said there's a chance of Darby vs. Kyle O'Reilly being announced tonight for DoN. Would probably be the best match on the card if true.

I'd be down with that match. Only match I see making my Best AEW Matches from this show is Adam Page vs. CM Punk. Outside shots are JAS vs. Danielson/Moxley/Kingston/Santana/Ortiz, MJF vs. Wardlow and Rosa/Deeb.

That would make a 12 match card with only Hookhausen vs. Sterling/Neese as the only announced Buy-In match.

I would've said that Jade/Anna should be on the Buy-In, but I actually think O'Reilly/Darby would be an excellent pre show match. I mean just three years ago at the first DoN our pre-show matches were the Casino Battle Royal that Hangman won and Sabian/Sammy. It's okay to put some real star power on the preshow.
