Backed into the Europa League spot, but if we hadn't I think we'd have qualified for the 3rd tier Conference League or whatever the heck it's called. So technically would've played continental competition but in reality it would be like Kentucky missing out on the NCAA and NIT and playing in the CIT. Or the college football equivalent of Alabama playing in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl.

StretchMediatedHypertrophy
Always sad to come so close, but apart from Noel Gallagher I don't really have anything against City so congratulations to them.

Oh man - I actually had to work this morning (if you can call manning a parade float and tossing swag into the crowd for your new job "work") so I missed all of the festivities. Probably for the best because my wife just had surgery and I would've been a complete ogre for the better part of two hours. Thanks sir!

Fuzzy Dunlop
On 4/11/2022 at 8:05 PM, Fuzzy Dunlop said: Not a single one of you will give a flying fart but 9 games into the new season and my hometown team Derry City sit unbeaten 6 points clear at the top of the league which has everyone here already dreaming of them winning their first league title since I was 12 years old (25 FUCKING YEARS AGO). It's still early days of course and things might go tits up because going tits up is what Derry do when they come within a sniff of the league title so I don't want to get too carried away but Derry City at present are the best team in Europe, will win the domestic treble and then beat Man City 14-0 in the European Cup final. Yes, I am quoting myself. Again, not single one of you will give a flying fart but since I posted this absolute bastard jinx of a post Derry have won 2 out of 9, lost the last 3 on the bounce and are now 7 points behind Shamrock Rovers. I mean, again, it's still early days but I believe it was Oscar Wilde or else the voiceover dude from Shawshank who said ''Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.'' Anyway, I'm not posting another single thing about Derry until they actually win the league. I'll see you in 2047.

Pete
ESPN: Bettor turned down $125,000 cash-out on Liverpool winning the quadruple minutes before City pipped them to the title Quote With Liverpool having already won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, the early cash-out offer on Hanley's bet continued to creep upwards and had reached £22,712 ($28,550) as Jurgen Klopp's side geared up to face Wolves in their final league outing. Betfair then saw fit to boost Hanley's quadruple cash-out offer up to £35,000 ($44,000) on the morning of the match and even gave her the option of a partial cash-out deal that would see her bag £25,000 ($31,400) up front and a further £100,000 ($125,700) if the Reds went on to win the Premier League and the Champions League. Such was Hanley's faith in her side that both offers were rejected. (As City fell behind Villa), Hanley's cash-out offer had climbed to £62,317 ($78,300) but still she refused to budge in the unshakeable belief that her side would be able to pull off a miracle. Sure enough, City looked to have capitulated at the worst possible moment when they fell two goals behind at the Etihad as the season entered its final 20 minutes. Over at Anfield, Mohamed Salah had come off the bench and Liverpool were turning the screw in desperate search of a winner against Wolves as Tanya's cash-out offer swelled to a staggering £95,000 ($120,000). Then came the moment. Three goals in five dizzying minutes sealed a 3-2 win for Pep Guardiola's resurgent side that negated Liverpool's result entirely and delivered the silverware to City for the fourth time in five years.
