I sure hope Vince writes his autobiography before he passes. It will be the most entertaining pile of bullshit ever put to the page.

McAfee didn't get where he's at by being confrontational and asking the hard questions.  He's pretty much the sports version of Joe Rogan.  If anything, it's pretty fascinating to see Vince so relaxed and casual, cussing up a storm.

McAfee will give you enough rope to hang yourself though.  Those Aaron Rodgers interviews are kind of magical when you realize that he got Rodgers to say all the crazy shit he wanted to say, without Rodgers ever feeling like McAfee was baiting him.  There is a skill to that.

My limited understanding of Russia is that if folks there still want to get their graps fix they can go to any local bathhouse and watch a bunch of nude rival Bratva gangsters fight. I may have only seen exactly one movie set in Russia in the past fifteen years.

And that was set in London ?

Anyway there is backyard Russian wrestling in the blood thread so they have an outlet.

I've wanted this for years. Just to hear his side of things. Its also why I enjoy Bruce Prichards podcast cause I feel its the closest thing we are probably ever gonna get to a VKM shoot interview

Man that last question and its answer are all-time perfect.

Spoiler

How do you feel about the titles used to describe the wrestlers who always lost? Do you prefer jobber, underneath performer, enhancement talent or something else?

I’m a jobber. I’m not enhancement; I’m not human Viagra. When Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George are sitting around in the diner on Seinfeld, and there’s a guy wiping a table down in the background, that guy is enhancement. He’s enhancing the scene. I was a carpenter. I couldn’t draw a house, but I could build you one. I consider myself an integral part of what they were putting together.

My job was important. My job was to make people think that if Mario Mancini was being carried out on a stretcher because of what Bundy did to him, then what was Bundy going to do to his opponent at Wrestlemania? I did a stretcher job for Paul Orndorff prior to the original Wrestlemania. I did a stretcher job for Bundy prior to Wrestlemania III. I did a stretcher job for Randy Savage prior to Wrestlemania IV.

So I didn’t enhance a damn thing; I went in there and did my job.

Good article/interview with the reliable Mario Mancini:

Short & well worth the read.

Sorta random but I saw some guy in the stands at this week's Dynamite dressed like The Grand Wizard and you were the very first person I thought of.

What kind of news is it? You know I hate bad news! Maybe if you told the bad news in a good way?

Let's see... it's great news sir, we no longer have to see current RAW episodes! Ever!

Happy to add "don't apologize for being late" to my list of weird Vince-isms.

I worked with a dude who strolled in late constantly, when Vince was telling that story it reminded me of him.  He never once apologised, would login at his desk and it never seemed to get brought up.

Then one day he got caught selling coke and pills and got removed from the premises.  I suspect our team manager might also have been a customer of his.

Vince was much cooler than that guy.

If you wonder why wrestling fans suddenly give a shit about the war in Ukraine

Shit like this makes me glad I went legit years ago.  If you're not going to stop torrenting because it hurts the guys who make wrestling content, then maybe stop torrenting for your own self interests.  This shit is hosted in Russia and DL'ing shit from there is like when that girl fell into that pit of hypodermic needles in Saw II.  This is the computer equivalent of a Wuhan wet market, dudes.

For pretty much everything professional, whether or not you can get away with something has more to do with how liked you are, not what the behavior is.  If you are well liked, you don't ever have to come in on time.  If you aren't well liked, you better be 10 minutes early.  I am someone who gets up and takes multiple walks pretty much every single day when I'm in the office and no one says a word.  Same company fired a girl for because she was away from her desk for 11 minutes when we are allocated 10 minute breaks.  When I take a walk at work, I'm usually away from my desk for at least 20 minutes.  I walk pretty leisurely, because I'm wearing dress shoes and don't want to sweat through my shirt.  The most someone has said to me about it was someone saying, "My doctor told me I'm vitamin D deficient, maybe I should take a couple walks during the day."  Here's the thing, another person from the fired girl's department used to do the same thing, and no one ever said shit and she worked there for years after the firing.

On last night's Wrestling Open, heel manager Sidney Bakabella was forced into a match he didn't want to have. So he threatened the company that if they didn't cancel the match, he'd do something really despicable. They didn't cancel the match. So he got on the house mic and started giving out Batman spoilers.

Why do I feel like I never see a Russian leg sweep anymore? Seriously, maybe I'm having a brain fart but I it seems like one of those lost moves.

Folks saw Brad Armstrong's and went "well we'll never top perfection".

Good riddance.  I can't think of a move that looks like it either doesn't hurt, or hurts the giver more than the taker more than the Russian Leg Sweep.
