Top Flight teaming with the Hardys feels like a natural pairing, but then you realise that Matt and Jeff have been a professional wrestling tag team for longer than Darius and Dante have been alive.

That's what was so cool about that match.  Jeff Hardy was there to see the first time Dante Martin and Marq Quinn got to challenge each other to see who the next Jeff Hardy will be.  If it isn't Sammy Guevara or Darby Allin.

I haven't seen Dante do anything dangerously dumb that I can recall (in my 8 months of watching), so I think he's in 4th place in that race right now. I really do like you (or whoever) said that Darius is Matt and Dante is Jeff.

I caught up with both of this weeks shows (as well as the amazing promo video for Dynamite, must watch if just for the Dustin-Punk segment)

That Dustin-Punk vignette was so good. AEW would be wise to put more of this stuff on the actual shows, trim some of the match times and more time for backstage bits, angles, pre-tapes, interviews ect. give the viewer a chance to breath between matches. It seems that only Cody, Jericho and MJF are trusted to do long promo segments

On Rampage, they did promote the one for FTR vs FTR launching Tuesday. That’s a good step.

Tonight's Elevation looks really good!

Aside from QT getting murdered for our amusement by Suzuki, we get:

Takeshita vs Cutler, which should be just amazing.

Soho, Anna, & Blue vs Nyla, Sajura, & Bunny

Max Caster vs Penta

Julia Hart vs Kris Stat in a battle of ladies embracing their dark sides

Vince Valor (has to be a name from an indy wrestler name generator) vs Johnny Hungee.  Two bald bearded dudes looking like a fight broke out at the crossfit gym.

Luther leading a team of jobbers, one of whom is apparently named BULK NASTY vs The Rest of the Dark Order Except Colt Cabana.  First off, BULK NASTY is my new porn name.  Second, why can't Colt get booked?  Jesus.

Tony Neese vs The Steel City Brawler.  That's a character from the unreleased Punch Out sequel, right?

I noticed that Ted Goodz who was on the AEW web shows and got squashed on wwe TV was one of the shop owners on the most recent toy hunt with Ethan page.

On the indies, his hometown is “Cojo’s Toy World, (full address including Zip Code)”.

Luther's New Team Piper vs the Dark Order!  New Team Piper has no Horshu so they did not win.  Julia Hart is still slowly turning evil.  Kris Statlander is more quickly turning evil.  Julia Hart needs to switch to a black cheerleader outfit.  Statlander is already in black Gear of HORROR!  This match is pretty awkward.  They edit the hell out of something Hart did and labeled it a "bulldog".  It gets okay by the end.  They get in all the things that Hart does well and Statlander does some neat power things.  This ended well.  The start? Well... this ended well.  Will Brandon Cutler be able to be the Terry Funk of AEW with Konosuke Takashita?  SWEET SENTON by Takeshita.  Brandon Cutler is soooo awesome. Nice DDT by Takeshita.  He's got the best Rotation Powerbomb on earth.  SWEET BRAINBUSTER!  Takeshita realizes that Minoru Suzuki and Tomohiro Ishii are also on this show so he OPTS to beat the living shit out of Cutler.  I love that Cutler is just letting Takeshita SHOWBOAT his myriad of finishers.  Cutler is AWESOME.  Takeshita is AWESOME.  Cutler is the ALL-STAR of Dark Elevation/Dark.  Smart Mark Sterling is golden ON THE STICK~!   Tony Nese made this match fun by giving the Steel City Brawler a wad of offense.  Minoru Suzuki is going to show up on Championship Wrestling from Memphis/Hollywood, NWA POWERRR and MLW this week too, right?   I have seen him wrestle four times this week (Too Cold Scorpio, Jake Something, Mike Bailey, QT Marshall), I think THREE of those are from the last seven days.  Suzuki is wrestling a WWF 1987 schedule.  The Factory gets ejected and I just now notice their slick matching outfits.  This match was fun.  GOTCH STYLE PILEDRIVER!  QT Marshall is so good.  Minoru Suzuki should just move to Jacksonville.  Jon Silver wrestles the 11th bald guy on this show.  He wins very quickly.  Skye Blue is adorable as a face in peril.  The Bunny lays it in- as she was the first opponent to Toni Storm and she beats the hell out of Skye Blue.  Bunny/Emi/Nyla are a great rudo trio.  Ruby Soho is your female Randy Orton on the apron and we all await her tagging in,.  BUT SHE DOESN'T!  They have an elaborate finish that ends with Anna J tapping out the Bunny after Skye Blue hits a plancha off the top. That was good.  PENTA OSCURA!  He will tell a story.  Max Caster!  He does a rap!  The story is that Anthony Bowen keeps interfering!  Penta does his third most dangerous finisher.  That was a good little episode of Elevation.  AEW RULES THE WHOLE MOTHERFUCKING WORLD!

Women’s matches were the highlight of this episode, although as DEAN~! said Stat-Hart was pretty rough early on. Has Statlander wrestled Jade? And even if she has, the new serious dark Stat hasn’t.

A trios match featuring any 4 of those 6 women is going to be good. Skye Blue got feisty early, played a strong face in peril, and did a ring post plancha. Emi and Ruby mostly watched this one. I love Bunny’s taunts while she’s wrestling.

On the one hand, I think Cutler kicked out of one too many big moves. On the other hand, it means we got to see him eat a bunch of serious moves (although there are too many running knee strikes).

I’m really tired of The Acclaimed being jobbed. Max’s rap was once again stellar, with the Goth Phase reference I’ve been making, a diss on Dr. Oz, and saying “Penta is short for Pendejo” which may have legit pissed him off. Good spot with them exchanging taunts.

The rest was very boring and squasharific, with the Suzuki elbow being the highlight.

Haven't finished the show yet but if Statlander is calling herself "more than a woman" and her finisher is "Night Fever," is she now working a Bee Gees gimmick?  That's incongruous.  I enjoyed how she apparently went for the Croyt's Wrath but ended up dropping Julia on her face.  There was also a point where it looked like Stat was going for the Spider Crab but gave up on it.  But shit, points to them both for gutting it out and trying to get back on the same page instead of going to the finish a minute later.

Takeshita is awesome but he hit 2-3 moves that were better finishers than his actual finisher.

Just working my way through Dark and I need to have a gripe for once.

Why is Statlander's entire presentation different without any reference to it? Her music, where she hails from, her finisher name all different and for seemingly no reason. This is the sort of thing that should set AEW apart from WWE, taking the time to show the development of the character changes. Otherwise you may as well just call her Gunther and never mention it again.

Same goes for Julia Hart, shit or get off the pot Tony, hurry up already at least do something. All we've had is her bruise is getting bigger.

Why are Red Velvet and to a lesser degree Kiera Hogan now baddies? Velvet had some hard fought babyface battles against her and now that's it, again no explanation? I know there's a lot to fit in, but a 30 second promo would suffice.

Statlander’s storyline is halted because Leyla Hirsch got injured. Keira and Velvet are now Jade’s baddies because they made a TikTok together that did well.
