RIPPA Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I am gonna start this now because I am positive I will forget to do it tomorrow before folks start getting fired The Jets released Shaq Lawson. To sum up, the Jets sent a 6th round pick to Houston for him and then stopped playing him three weeks ago because they totally weren't tanking. It will save them 9 million on next year's cap.

dogwelder Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Buzz builds of Jim Harbaugh to Raiders Quote Four years ago, the worst-kept secret in the NFL was that the Raiders will hire Jon Gruden to be the team’s head coach. In the upcoming interview/hiring cycle, the worst-kept secret in the NFL could become that the Raiders will hire Jim Harbaugh as the permanent replacement for Gruden. For now, buzz is building in league circles that team owner Mark Davis wants, and will get, the former 49ers and current Michigan coach. The man who took a 6-10 team to the NFC Championship in his first year and who nearly won a Super Bowl in his second. The man who went 44-19-1 in four seasons as an NFL head coach. 1 1
RIPPA Posted January 9, 2022 Author Posted January 9, 2022 Multiple reports say the Panthers plan on keeping Matt Rhule and that their top 2 targets for OC are Jay Gruden and Bill O'Brien

Gonzo Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 As far as I can tell, the currently/anticipated open coaching jobs are: Chicago Denver Jacksonville Las Vegas Minnesota There might be one or two others, but those are the ones that appear to be set. Maybe the coaching carousel won't be super nutso this year.

Tarheel Moneghetti Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) AB is talking this morning - through his lawyer, of course. Gist of it is that Bucs did him dirty again by asking him to see a orthopedic specialist early Thursday morning "outside of normal business hours", then firing him when he missed the appt. Implication is that Bucs made the appt as part of their elaborate charade to fire AB. Um, yeah. two things. One, they don't explain why AB couldn't make the appt. except that it was early? I guess AB likes to sleep in? Given the stakes involved, most people would be going out of their way to make that appt and try to get a doctor and some x-rays on their side. Two, people with legitimate grievances and the truth on their side usually go out of their way to get their side of the story out. This is especially true of public personalities, when you have agents and pr firms and the like at your disposal. I don't really believe AB's agent let him take a beating in the press and the "court" of public opinion for three days if AB had a legitimate reason not to go in the game. Likewise, I doubt AB's people would let the Bucs claim for three days that AB skipped his dr's appt. if there wasn't some truth to that. It could be a coincidence that AB's attorney suddenly had something to say to the press on game day a couple hours before kickoff, but.... yeah, probably not. Apparently Jon Mara really really wants to keep Judge and, at least publicly, the players support him. However, the other co-owner Stephen Tisch reportedly wants to blow everything up and start over. If the Giants get blown out today by Washington - especially after Judge's weird rant last weekend AND shit talking of WFT - I could see it happening.

Brian Fowler Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I can't imagine Las Vegas doesn't hire Rich Bisaccia full time now. The shit sandwich he was served and getting them into the playoffs? That would be real tough and cold-hearted to go in a different direction.

Which means they definitely fire the entire staff and give Bill O'Brien complete control. 1 2
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Chicago has fired Matt Nagy per Schefter. 2 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 EDIT - This is what I get for trying to be funny. 1
RIPPA Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 @Dolfan in NYC The Dolphins have fired Brian Flores 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Joe Judge is currently meeting with the Mara collective. I'm guessing getting embarrassed by the Soon To Be Something Elses will all but seal his fate. Note, Matt Nagy was just fired for going 34-31 with 2 playoff appearances (both losses). Judge is currently 10-23 as NYFG hc. 1
