Are Minoru and "Toshizu" (assuming this is Ryuji Hijikata under the old Toshizo mask?) also back as part of Voodoo Murder? This is quite the regressive booking move on AJPW's part, especially considering TARU and KONO both kind of suck, ESPECIALLY especially considering the very understandable reasons for firing all those dudes in the first place. Is part of all their paychecks going towards Nobukazu Hirai's disability payments?

Tajiri left T.E and joined the main unit.

Jake Lee and Yuma are a new tag team.

Kento (c) vs Jake Lee is next Triple Crown match. At Ota.

Shotaro Ashino, Ryuki Honda, and Seigo Tachibana are a new unit.

Suwama leaving Evolution for Voodoo Murders is so weird.

Also, what’s the end game? To move Suwama from the top of the card to … the top of the card?

Unfortunately, Stan has COVID and won’t be at the show for the scheduled talk battle.

Aww man. Hopefully he lariats the bejesus out of it then spits a huge wad of tobacco on it and bellows loudly.

That was certainly what his promo implied which is strange. I dunno, who knows?

I'm in this spot where I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm enjoying the company a lot

Zero One are running a show on Saturday 4th June at Ota Ward Gym, a fundraiser for Shinjiro Otani. It's a good cause so you hope they draw well. It'll also be live on Abema.TV, but whether it'll be free or premium or if it'll be available outside Japan, Abema is a crapshoot sometimes. Starts 8am UK time, 3am US East Coast, midnight on the West Coast.

Anyway, here's the card, it's featuring talent from all over.

Astroman, Ren Ayabe & Yuko Miyamoto vs Fuminori Abe, Kosuke Sato & Yuki Ishikawa
Carbell Ito, Naoki Sano, Tomohiko Hashimoto & Yumehito Imanari vs Voodoo Murders (Chris Vice, Shogun Okamoto, TARU & Yoshikazu Yokoyama)
2AW (Kengo Mashimo, Shu Asakawa & Tatsuya Hanami) vs Hide Kubota, Ryo Hoshino & Takuya Sugawara
Aja Kong, NATSUMI & Yuna Manase vs ASUKA, Chihiro Hashimoto & Jaguar Yokota
Junya Matsunaga, Takumi Baba & Tsugutaka Sato vs Kaito Kiyomiya, Kinya Okada & Yoshiki Inamura
Naomichi Marufuji vs Shoki Kitamura
Kazuyuki Fujita, Kendo Kashin, Koji Kanemoto & Tatsuhito Takaiwa vs Kongo (Hi69, Kenoh, Manabu Soya & Tadasuke)
Hirotaka Yokoi, TAJIRI & Takafumi vs Takao Omori, Takashi Sasaki & Yoshitatsu
Daichi Hashimoto, Daisuke Sekimoto, Kazuki Hashimoto & Yasufumi Nakanoue vs Satsuki Nagao, Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma & Yuji Nagata
ZERO1 World Heavyweight Title: Takashi Sugiura vs Masato Tanaka

There's plenty of NOAH representation, guys from BJW, a New Japan team, Imanari & Manase from GanPro, All Japan. It looks like a pretty fun card, Sugiura & Tanaka have already had a pretty great match this year, getting to see Kitamura against Marfuji is pretty interesting, Nagao teaming with the New Japan vets should be fun, the NOAH trio against the ZERO1 guys looks nice. I hope it's a success & they raise a lot of money.

7 months left for this year celebrating 50 years each of NJPW/AJPW and 25 years of DDT. I'm forgetting other anniversaries happening this year.

Will there be more joint shows with NJPW? The NJPW/AEW Forbidden Door PPV is next month. I haven't found if there will be any more for the other months.  So again if any more NJPW joint shows, expect mostly tags, tags protect guys plus NJPW is too big these days to lose to the other smaller Japanese promotions.

Old news but NOAH and NTV are done with each others. NTV only bothers with old footage of NOAH and AJPW and JWA. The G+ NOAH shows are all ended.

NTV has dabled in wanting to replace NOAH before. And the rare new Fortune Dream shows are the replacement for new NOAH footage on at this point.

Dragongate's King of Gate finals are happening just now in a very good match between Kota Minoura & Yuki Yoshioka.

But earlier on the show were a couple of angles which have been very entertaining. Firstly Strong Machine J was asked to join HIGH-END by YAMATO & today was his decision: he's joined Natural Vibes instead & it turns out he is a really good break dancer. YAMATO was appalled & wants yo be reimbursed for the bar tab J ran up when they were drinking together in Sapporo.

A man in a balaclava ran in & stole Dragon Dia's skateboard & proceeded to fall off it the second he stepped on it. Anyway, it was Don Fujii & he will only give it back if Dia wins a hair vs skateboard match on tomorrow's Toryumon Reunion show. A very DG moment but enjoyable silliness.
