The full Jumbo memorial show card will be out later. The card will have men from more groups unlike the upcoming NJPW/AJPW show. Maybe also another chance to see the old Triple crown, which all belts are used for ceremonial purposes these days. (Giving them to Kento or recently crowning Jake Lee as the additional Ace.)

Older men from any of the previous eras of AJPW wills be on the card. Great Kojika, Yoshiaki Yatsu, Shiro Koshinaka, and Masao Inoue. Tatsumi Fujinami, Jun Akiyama, and Atsushi Onita will participate in the first round or match.

The tournament or card is sponsored by "HJT Production", which manages the rights of the late Giant Baba. Both New Japan and All Japan will cooperate for the show.

Mr. Pro Wrestling Genichiro Tenryu, and The Great Kabuki will be guests. Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue, and Kenta Kobashi, who were the four heavenly kings of all Japan, will also be guests too.

Kim Duk will retire at that show.

If the Great O-Khan has become even more amazing - if my translation is right, he saved a girl from being assaulted by a drunk at a train station. When asked for his name at the train station, his response: "New Japan Pro Wrestling's Great O-Khan, so if you like, look at pro wrestling" (from Google translate so probably off).

He's being honored for it at least.

Not much angles these days from NOAH, they went back to being the promotion that the ring action tells the story outwardly with few exceptions like if it's about the GHC HW or unit struggles.

Anyway enjoy this picture from DDT below

Also if anyone's been watching the Lion's Roar series (which has been a lot of fun, though I am familiar with some of the guys from the Aus/NZ indy scene), 3 of them have signed 1 year Young Lion contracts

Michael Richards of Auckland who has already competed in NJPW in Japan, Andrew Villalobos of Sydney who has done a dojo stint before with Richards and competed for NJPW on their Southern Showdown show, and Jake Taylor of Torquay (a few hours out of Melbourne) who has also done a dojo stint before and is actually really good so really happy for him.

Story about O-Khan and his police commendation. The best part will always be him offering pancakes to the girl to calm her down.

Adding to the above:

Well done, Great O-Khan. O-Khan was given a police commendation letter and one from NJPW. There's articles on both in Japanese. Can't see one on NJPW's English website.

  • In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Hiroshi Tanahashi spoke about Scott Hall’s death and the match they had against each other for NJPW where Tanahashi defeated Hall in 2001: “I felt very lonely. I wanted to meet and talk again. The match with Mr. Hall had a great influence on my life as a wrestler and my way of thinking about professional wrestling.”
  • Tanahashi also said: “I think Mr. Hall taught me the answer to the question, ‘What is a true professional?’ It is an important memory that Mr. Hall invited me to go out for a meal together. I will hold on to and cherish that memory.”

Everyone loves Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Shinjiro Otani was injured during his match tonight with Sugiura. It looks like he took a german suplex into the corner and suffered some kind of injury. He was unable to move and was taken to the hospital. He is conscious but unable to move.

If the injury is legit, then that's his last match. Chono wanted him to retire so he got his wish.

The older he got, he should had limited his bump taking.

He may be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Why you talking about it like it's a blown knee?

Did I? I clearly said in my own way that he is done wrestling because of that bump, if is a possible cervical spine injury. Doesn't help that the human spine deteriorates with every new bump over the years and this happened.

"Dr. Hayashi said, "He is conscious because he responds to calls. However, he cannot move his arms and legs at all. We won't know the details until he is examined at the hospital, but we suspect a cervical spine injury." Okita, the ring announcer who also serves as the organization's director, commented on Otani's condition, "He responds to calls for help, but his arms and legs are immobile. He understands what I'm saying, and when I put on his mask, he said, 'I'm in pain, so please take it off. He was stout about the accident at the commemorative event, saying, "In pro wrestling, this comes with the territory, so it can't be helped."

He was moving his neck and head in the vid.  But he can not move his arms and legs.

I think it was the "in your own way" that led to the reply, the point being that Masahiro Chono (or anyone else) isn't really concerned right now if he is going to wrestle again so it felt like an irrelevant comment to the situation, they are hoping he is just able to walk again. Everyone is aware of the severity which is why your comment came off as flippant and missing the point that a man's life has likely been permanently changed.
